Dr Mauer injected me with Sculptra along my jawline causing me to have quarter sized lumps visibly destroying my profile. When I contacted the company I was told that Sculptra. Should never be placed in that area. Dr.mauer made several attempts to repair the damage to no avail. One was a very painful procedure where he inserted a cánula that felt like a rotor rooter. I was left with severe disfiguration. I would advise anyone contemplating a visit to first check out his credentials which are sadly lacking to perform cosmetic procedures. read more

I found out about Dr. Mauer through a friend of mine who knew I was looking to get lip fillers, as well as a Botox treatment. I started going in 2023, & have another appointment for this Wednesday, so it was definitely time for me to leave a review. I just want to say that Dr. Mauer is a genius when it comes to this stuff, & he understands every single nerve, & how to manipulate your wrinkles. No one will notice a thing, except to say that you look "great"! or "refreshed"! or that you look "amazing" or, even "happier" lol but no one will suspect that you got Botox at all! Dr. Mauer leaves the upper portion of your forehead, so that you will still look expressive, and not have that flat head tele-tubby look that a lot of celebs go for. Now that I know the difference, I can't unsee it! Although, he will gladly fill in all the way to your hair line if you prefer. Everything is included in the quoted price, so if you are not happy in two weeks, you can go back for more. This goes for all procedures. The staff OMG! I have to say that the lovely Roxanne, Dr. Mauer's assistant makes the experience all the more fun. Both she and the doctor talk you through everything. Roxanne holds your hand and looks after you like a protective mama bear, making sure all your needs are met. She is the *perfect* person to have there, as she gets just excited as you do about your treatment, & honestly, that gets me more amped, too! She's pretty great about any questions you might have. I remember one evening, we were texting until late into the night, and she made sure all of my concerns were addressed. The doctor offers many beautifying services, which I will eventually try! For the meantime I can say that I'm very happy with the Botox & lip fillers I have received, & I would definitely recommend going to Dr. Mauer. **SECOND UPDATE** It is clear that my review has upset the business owner. That was not my intention (nor am I working for another spa - or any other type of business that I review). I have been honest in my feedback. There was no initial consultation, so that part of the lengthy response doesn't apply to my situation. I did, however, go to the office twice and received two treatments. The experiences on both of my two visits to the office were decidedly negative, which is why I felt compelled to review. (You can tell by the frequency that I'm not in the habit of spending my time on this.) This is not bullying. It's just a documented unfavorable experience. I stand by what I've reported. I also accept that this may not have been typical to the establishment - other reviews suggest so - but I don't wish to be challenged on my experience any further. I had a very traumatic scar left on my nose from an accident last year and was referred to Dr. Mauer for treatment. He performed a procedure on the area and it looks amazing! It's only actually been a week and everyone is telling me they can't even tell there was anything there. I'm so grateful for his work and he really really cares about his patients. I had a TERRIBLE (not to mention VERY expensive) experience with this doctor. He did a procedure that was horribly painful and used too much filler. With no anesthetic, he tried over several days to take it out. It was excruciating. I was blown up red and bruised for two weeks! He promised to make it up to me with some free things. He did a peel which did NOTHING and some Botox. He said he would call the next day to see how I was and of course never did. Stay as far away from this guy as possible. I was there for a fraxel treatment last year around June. I bought the treatment from groupon and the price was really good. Dr. Adam Mauer is knowledgeable and professional. He gave me a free consultation before the treatment and told me how the fraxel will be proceeded. He did told me that I didn't need fraxel but I since I insisted he had done the treatment for me. I have so many nice things to say about Dr. Mauer, both he and his staff are so kind. However, for the sake of a functional and helpful review for others, I'll start out by saying I'm really picky and a bit of a control freak. I would never ever want to look plastic, frozen or not myself. Not once in all the years going to Dr. Mauer have I been dissatisfied w/ any of his techniques with botox, fillers, or laser (that's all I have done). I don't know how he does it, but he's able to strike a balance that really works, and I love the way I look after he's done w/ me! What I really appreciate is, he looks at your muscles, avoids veins, and makes very useful suggestions that make such a difference in my appearance and photos (for me it was a drop of filler in my chin - who knew). I have been getting laser hair removal on my face and and see a difference already. I have had three sessions, but did notice results after the first. Don't go in with a furry face, it needs to be hair free in order for the laser to work, but keep the hair root! If you do have some hair grown out, there will be a slight burning smell but very little, if any pain. I was very nervous my first time getting the treatment done, I usually am not fond of doctors but he communicates very well and is an absolute sweetheart when he is seeing me. I'm a baby when it comes to pain, so this guy has the patience of a saint to deal with me. The women who I meet with before I see the doctor are amazing too. They seem sincere about getting to know me and are more than willing to answer my questions. Everyone seems so understanding and genuinely nice . Please read my review before going to see this doctor. First: his assistant Rachel is the reason why me and all my friends stopped going to see Dr. Mauer. This is a fact. Apparently she's "had" every type of work or filler done to her face. Anytime you mention a procedure to the doctor she doesn't let you get a word in without saying "yes I did that, it's AMAZING!" Ok first of all please be quiet. SECOND, beware. Dr. Mauer never opens any injectables in front of you, instead him and Rachel do some shady hand gesture and whisper behind you and if you ask to see the box and the injectable the Dr. and Rachel get all "funny" and it just gets awkward real fast. If your paying New York City prices you better believe you want to see what the heck is going into your face. For all I know he is watering down his Botox, giving left overs, or not enough Botox, fillers etc. POINT BLANK. The doctor always leaves the room when pricing gets involved and you have to speak to Rachel again. I don't understand this at all. Super shady business these two are doing and it is such a shame because the Dr. was super humble before all of this. I've found another doctor who always opens his products in front of me without hesitation or without feeling like he's hiding anything. Who doesn't have an assistant breathing on my every word and talking prices with me. Not professional at all. If you go see this doctor demand to see what the heck it is he is injecting don't be shy. I have been seeing Dr. Mauer for over 5 years after a friend of mine referred me to him to fix a botched botox experience that left my eyebrows flat from a previous doctor. Dr. Mauer explained to me that the other person who injected me, only injected problem areas as opposed to balancing out the entire forehead. 3 days later after the botox kicked in, my arches returned. I was thrilled! Since then I've had fillers and more botox injected.
