I dance bachata, salsa, meringue, cumbia and tango. i wanted to meet people so I joined as a single person for a group of lessons. while dancing with a member he grabbed me roughly and shoved me into "place" where he thougut i should be positioned for the song, then yanked me again very roughly. when I approached the teacher about this behavior she completely and totally ignored my concern about THE ASSAULT I EXPERIENCED and she said I need to move to the beginner area IMMEDIATELY in the middle of class! it was humiliating. before this she was giving me so many minor corrections and no one else. she also did not enforce partner rotation which leads to better learning. I sat in my car and cried for 20 minutes before I could safely drive home. i have not been to any studios since this traumatic event. i was the only plus size in the group.

Reinier has great energy (even on Zoom) and the lesson was very easy to follow and good exercise (I didn't expect to sweat at home!). Reinier is a handsome cuban man with good rhythm. He chose fun and upbeat music, too. The many dance moves we learned were very practical (I recognize them from casual salsa nights I've attended in the past - without any lessons). I liked how he went over each move and we practiced at just the right pace -- not too fast or too slow, too challenging or too boring. Even though I had missed the first salsa class, Reinier did a recap at the beginning and it was easy for me to jump right in! I feel like I learned more in this one class than all the casual salsa nights (which usually start with a free lesson) that I've attended before. I'm very excited about attending the next class. The front desk staff (Malissa and Sou) are organized, structured, and most important kind and friendly. We get addressed by our names and a warm smile every time we enter the space. Once we had a small issue, and it was acknowleged and addressed immediately. Nothing was swept under the rug, so you can always feel like you're safe and taken care of. I like that it's a community of parents, teachers, staff and dancers. We have a group chat called 'Ballet Moms' where we update each other when the girls are done, need to sign up for things and especially helpful during performance season. It's the main reason why we sign up for so many classes and volunteer more than what's required. Lastly, the instructors are wonderful. We've had Ms. Tatiana, Mr. Romain, Ms. Paulina and Ms. Anna as teachers and all have made a lasting impact!

As my wife liked to say during the intro with Linda, I had two left feet, and I can't tell you how much reassurance and confidence Linda provided us that regardless of our lack of dancing experience, everything would work itself out. And it did! We scheduled 5 lessons with Linda before our wedding and one of the weeks we got Covid and Linda was still able to make time for us so we could get every second with her. She was very attentive, gave us an incredible baseline and foundation and by the end of our lessons, we felt so good about being able to perform in front of 160 of our favorite people. My wife and I agree that the dance lessons with Linda (and sometimes her husband) were the absolute favorite parts of our wedding planning and most of that was the enjoyment from Linda teaching us and getting to know her and her husband with each lesson. The most important piece for me was finding a studio that offered something beyond beginner tap and a studio that is certified by Dance Master of America-RSDS fit that criteria. The studio rooms are quite spacious and have viewing windows so others can view from the outside throughout the year without being distracting. There is plenty of parking outside and there is an office area where you can pay your tuition or purchase items in their dancer shop. My class was great. Many of my classmates had been dancing together for years and welcomed me with open arms. My instructor was Beth, the owner, she is a wonderful teacher and is really focused on helping dancers with their technique. This studio is a positive space that encourages dancers to learn and grow. I was fortunate to watch the recital (and also participate) and I was blown away by the talent of the dancers and choreographers.
