After several years of eye exams, I will no longer use this office and will seek services from a different provider. They are not upfront about out-of-pocket costs even with insurance. I specifically asked about a retinal imaging that was to be done which I had done at a different provider's office a few months prior. I was told the retinal imaging was part of my exam and was covered under my insurance. I expected to pay my usual $40 which includes contact lens fitting. I was then told that my "copay" was now $80 which included the retinal imaging. When I asked why it was extra since I was told it was part of my exam, I was told by Amanda that this was the copay. I didn't question further and just paid it. I come to find out later that this was covered under insurance once every 3 years and it was optional. If they needed the retinal imaging, they could have requesting the prior imaging I had done from the other provider. I was also not happy with the way Amanda handled the cost of contact lenses. She gave me a price that was a high out-of-pocket and I asked if I could just have a copy of my prescription as I was not interested in purchasing contacts with them at that time. She asked why I was not purchasing contacts and I said I wanted to shop around first. She seemed bothered and said we wouldn't get a better deal anywhere else and honestly she came off like a used car salesperson. Well, I did some research and was able to purchase contacts online which were covered by my insurance and I had no out-of-pocket costs. It's a shame because the office is clean and the doctors are very pleasant. read more

Amazing staff and office. I had an emergency where I felt like there was something stuck deep in my eye. This is during the Covid-19 pandemic where a lot of places were closed or not taking patients. Plus it was a Saturday. The front staff answered the phone with such kindness and care that she was able to ease my panic (I thought I was going to lose my eye...might of over reacted a little lol). Dr. Wang was very helpful and professional. He was able to identify the problem and find the thing stuck in my eye very quickly. He was also able to keep me calm and even checked up on me after my visit. I can't recommend them enough, they are now my go to place for anything eye related. read more

I have been going to Acuvision for a while since they used to be off of painter. They have same staff which is super friendly in helping you make the right choice for glasses. I'm very impressed with the new location. There are following the COVID-19 rules. It's like your walking into a museum of glasses . My kid broke her glasses so, I went in get them fixed. I thought it would take a week,luckily they had pair of the same glasses and I didn't have to wait a 1 week. I waited like 10 mins. My husband and I had our eye exams at this place for the first time and we had an excellent experience. The assistants were very courteous and professional. The optometrist was excellent as well. The Dr left an open door if I had questions or concerns about anything. I didn't feel rushed like that get in get out type deal. The Dr. explained what she was doing and the purpose. She was very knowledgeable and shows genuine care for her patients. I recommend this place 100%. I love a place that values their patients. My husband dropped some glasses off to get prescription lenses on them. When I picked them up, I noticed that my insurance wasn't used and I paid full price. I called and told them my insurance wasn't used for these lenses and if they could fix that. They took a look at my insurance and yes I was suppose to get a discount. They apologized for the mishap. I'm a reasonable person and things get overlooked. All I cared about was that this was taken care of and resolved, which it was. They did all this without any complaints. They just wanted to make sure I was a happy customer. Now that's excellent customer service! A lot of places that don't pride themselves on customer service needs to learn a lot from this place. Insurance: VSP I was seen by Dr. Yang, she was very intelligent with a wealth of knowledge. Enjoyed my one on one with her to get my new prescription glasses. Will be coming back for my annuals or every other year for my new glasses. They do have a great selection of eyeglass frames: Jimmy Choo, Dior, Gucci, Dolce&Gabanna, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Bebe, etc. Prices vary; however, if you have insurance it'll cover approximately $130-150 of the glasses. Fast and easy service. Approximately 40 minutes as a New patient with the Optometrist. Parking Space is a bit limited, but was able to find parking easily without taking too much time or effort. read more

Both my wife and myself are guilty of wearing our contacts way more than we should so we put off going to the optometrist till the very last minute. The scheduler was able to fit us both in on short notice. The office is a little confusing to locate only because it's entrance is inside a larger medical clinic. The office is a small and narrow but very well kept. A warm and inviting feeling came over me once I enter their doors. The staff was every helpful with all our questions and gave us their undivided attention. It was surprising to see how young yet professional the doctor was. Pros- Takes my VSP insurance, has a new modern office and equipment (they don't have that annoying machine that blows a burst of air on your eyes), Friendly staff and Doctor that tries to accommodate you as best they can. Today I experienced a "WOAH" eye examine and very detailed contact fitting by Dr. Wang!!! I've been to many optometrists in my lifetime but let me tell you, this one is off the charts. I knew Dr. Wang's family from a church I attended before I got married and moved an hour away. He is very patient to answer ALL of your questions and concerns, very knowledgeable about in his field of optometry and even had me take a vision color blindness test and depth of field test. These were simple but I've never experienced them before so wasn't sure if I was tricking myself in giving a "correct" answer. I also had a concern about a Meibomianitis (oily eye gland secretion that led to small cyst in eyelid) and Dr. Wang examined it and even took time to use a special eye needle to clean it. It's my fault that I've let it harden and calloused over the years, maybe 5 or more, but nonetheless, it was examined by a competent professional. The staff, Susan, and the other two ladies were equally pleasant to talk to and were eager to make sure I was comfortable with the chart in-take and the standard eye procedures for pupil distance, and the cool machines that blows a puff of air into your eyeball, haha! The eyeglasses section is ridiculous and has so many selection from children to adult's designer glasses and shades. I love how each pair of glasses is securely locked to prevent unnecessary theft! When I first entered this building, it was located next to Kennedy Park and this office shares space with the Whittier pediatrics group. There is a huge underwater sea animal mural with dolphins and other sea creatures and also a large fish tank and wall toy display for the young children and parents who are seated in the waiting room before their appointment. All in all, I'm thankful that Dr. Wang squeezed me in so promptly and gave me the care any patient deserves from their optometrist. AcuVision is by far the best optometry place I've been to. I originally went to LensCrafters, big mistake! They not only Overcharged me plus didn't bother to explain anything. Im so thankful i found AcuVision, i went looking everywhere and called so many places, everywhere was expensive. Dr. Wang and his employees provides great service and they are so friendly! I was referred to Acuvision by various people and I can see why. They offer exceptional service from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. The assistant immediately greeted me upon walk in. She explained what the process was going to be like and what my insurance covered. Answered any questions I had and conducted the preliminary review until the doctor was ready to see me. Once Dr. Wang called me in for further review, it was the same professional final review and exam. She went through detailed, understandable explanations of her findings. They don't try to sell you on anything and not persistent like many other well known optometrist. I walked out with beautiful, stylish and inexpensive eyewear and a great experience. They are now my optometry home. Pros: friendly customer service, explain insurance efficiently, plenty of parking and awesome docs! This was the first time I visited this place and overall the experiance was positive. The place is out of nowhere but once I walked in I was surprised about the interior. It was spacy and nice illumination. Their machines were all new and clean. The faculty members were all courteous and helpful. I found this eye doctor through yelp and I was able to be seen right away because of an irritating eye. Yes I had been annoyed all weekend w my right eye and looked for a great eye doctor that would take me same day. From evidence of my 12/14/17 review, I been a patient of Dr. Wang for a few years, I have spent hundreds of dollars if not a few thousand at Acuvision. I have always encourage my family and friends to give Dr. Wang a chance because I've always thought highly of him. Reader please know my review is based on Dr. Wang and not his staff because until the very end Sara and the rest of the ladies were very nice and professional. Today I called Acuvision to see if they accepted our new eye insurance, Sara informed me that they did however Dr. Wang blocked/dismissed/fired me and family as patients. Why? Well over a year ago my husband (first time patient, however the primary on our insurance) ordered his glasses of course after his eye exam with Dr. Wang it was an expensive order if Im correct it was between $600-$800+... Long story short his order was pushed 3 different times weeks in between with some pretty poor excuses, by the 3rd time my husband decided to cancel his order and get his money back. Which they did. I guess at that point we were bad business and Dr. Wang Decided we were no longer worth as patients because patients are only important if your making him money. So instead of Dr. Wang calling the maker of the glasses and complaining to them of the bad service they were giving us by having so many issues with executing our order he decided we were the problem. read more

The prices of exams are not listed on the website. I had to spend a lot of time and 4 messages to Stephanie just to try and get the prices of an exam for contacts and glasses. She complained that she was trying to respond to all the messages as fast as she can and that was why she didn't answer my original questions. What? She should take the time to read and respond properly to messages about prices. Here's an idea..put that information on the website and then you won't have so many emails.
