I have seen Manju off and on for the last year. Originally I started visiting because she did community acupuncture and I really love that practice. I was seeking help with anxiety and persistent nightmares and after seeing her for a couple visits my anxiety and sleep were considerably better. Most recently I returned for ongoing nerve pain in my hip and leg. I had never tried acupuncture for physical ailments in the past and had been going to physical therapy for several months in the hopes of lessening the pain. I am happily surprised that acupuncture has seemed to have a much more prominent effect on my nerve pain than physical therapy. I was in pain for about 48 hours prior to going to visit yesterday and after just that session I've been pain free for about 24 hours which is very rare lately. Acupuncture Atlanta is a poor excuse for a reputable company. I previously ordered cardiac supplements for my elderly dog from them via a phone call, and was told next time it would be better to order online. So I went online early Monday morning to place an order, and when I had not received my medication by Friday near 5:00 p.m., I called them. Not only was the woman rude, she told me that not only had my order not been shipped - "We don't have it on the shelf" (my first call to them I was told I "got the last bottle on the shelf" so you think they would have reordered), but they had not even called Sun Ten to have THEM ship my order. It should not take 5 days to attempt to fulfill someone's cardiac medication! SHAMEFUL COMPANY!!!!!!!!!! I suggest you call Sun Ten themselves. read more

I was running out of the herbs my acupuncturist prescribed and knew I wasn't going to have time to go anywhere to get them, so I turned to the internet. I've been seeing the community acupuncturists for three sessions now for my allergies. This is always just a wonderful experience every time I see them. Firstly, the ease of scheduling an appointment and getting reminders is always a good start! I got an email when u book, a day or two before, and then a reminder call to ensure nothing has come up. That's HUGE for me because they want to make sure you're continuing to get the services you need to resolve your concern/issue. During check-in, you wait in their beautiful waiting area and are asked if you would like water by the receptionist (I only come in Saturday's, so it might be different during the week). It's a very tranquil environment given the music. I really don't wait that long until the acupuncturist is ready to see me. I do the community acupuncture, which is up to three people in a room. The perk is that you pay on a sliding scale - ranging from 25-50. It takes probably 5-10 treatments based on your issue (personal research), so it's great that there is a sliding scale. I can't recommend this place enough. I had a terrific experience. I have been suffering through plantar fasciitis for over a year. I've been to multiple podiatrists, tried physical therapy, bought special shoes/inserts, and even got a cortisone shot. But nothing worked. I've never tried acupuncture before, and my wife swears by it for her back pain. After one treatment with "Zuki," I experienced my first pain free day in almost a year. Very poor customer service. I had ordered from this company before and the experience was substandard. I decided to give them another chance. This was a mistake. I will describe in very simple terms what became a much more complicated situation. I placed an international order. I was provided with a tracking number. It was taking longer than expected. I contacted the shipper and they had no record of the shipment. Soon after, I did receive a package from another shipper with a different tracking number. There was no identification on the box and the sender listed a place I did not recognize. I did not accept the package. I later found out, this was likely the shipment from Acupuncture Atlanta. They did not communication about the change of shipper and did not provide the new tracking number until after I complained. Again, there was no identification of any kind on the box linking the item to the company or products I had ordered. Contacting them provided no solutions. They indicated the product would likely be destroyed and I would not be provided with a refund. I have spent hours navigating through both shipping companies trying to find a solution without any assistance from Acupuncture Atlanta. I have not been successful. Acupuncture Atlanta took no ownership for their poor communication not to mention how delayed the product was in arriving. Customer service here is very poor. They only have a receptionist for a couple of hours a day so as a result, most of the times you call, no one will pick up the phone. Similarly, I sent them an appointment request online through their website and no one ever responded to my request. The community acupuncturist does not disinfect the skin prior to placing needles in your body. This is going to increase your risk of getting an infection. Lastly, there was a large dog in the treatment area of the clinic which is not sanitary for this type of environment. My advice to the clinic would be to hire a full-time receptionist to answer calls during office hours, do not allow animals near or in the treatment area, respond to messages submitted through your website and disinfect the skin prior to placing needles. read more

Manju does excellent work. She initially treated me when I was six weeks into a severe case of Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) facial pain. TN pain, sometimes referred to as "the suicide disease" is very hard to relieve, even with opioids. Despite a mix of strong meds, TN pain prevented me from speaking or eating solid food. After a few treatments, I began to talk again and eventually could chew food as well. I soon dropped the medications in favor of acupuncture. I also have a challenging case of multiple sclerosis, and Manju has been very helpful with MS-related neuropathic pain, low back pain, and muscle spasticity. I desparately needed to get some Chinese herb I had been taking regulalry while I was in abroad. I researched the Internet and found out that almost all vendors would overcharge postage. Then I found Acupuncture Atlanta. They did not have fixed rate for international shipping up front but asked customer to email them for the cost. So I did. I asked the question for the 1ST TIME; "How much AA charges for the International shipping and if you could use priority flat rate envelope which cost $16.95?" Three small bottles of the herb could easily fit into an envelope. A week passed by without response. Then I got two separate emails on the same day, one from a LA.c. and the other from customer service person. Both emails did not answer to my question about international shipping but asked why I did not finish the transaction. I left the couple of Chinese herb in the shopping cart on their web site and they obviously noticed that. They were eager to do some business, I thought. I asked again the very same question to each of them for the 2ND TIME; "How much do you charge for the International shipping and if you could use priority flat rate envelope which only cost $16.95?" Few more days passed. Then finally the customer service responded. I was told the charge would be $35 for priority. Again, no mentioning about flat rate envelope. So, I emailed her again specifically asking the same question for the 3RD TIME; "Could you use flat rate priority envelope, so that.....?" I have not heared from them ever since. Charging $35 for sending three small bottles while it could be done for $16.95 is ridiculous. AA offers $5 flat rate domestic shipping. This means they don`t make profit out of shipping in the US. But when it comes to international shipping it is a different story. Whether I`m in the US or outside, I`m still a customer. I expect to be treated the same. Why the treatment differs? What I don`t like the most is the way people in AA had handled the communication. In every email correspondences they did not answer to my fairly simple question, IF THEY COULD USE PRIORITY FLAT RATE ENVELOPE. They could say yes or no at least. Instead, they kept ignoring the question and then abruptly ended the communication. Not a good business practice. I`ll look for elsewhere. read more

Manju is awesome for acupuncture. I've heard for years how great acupuncture was for a variety of ailments and wish I would have decided to try it earlier! I was suffering from really bad allergies (the pollen was kicking my butt) and noticed immediate relief after my first visit. I also suffered far too long with painful cramps and have tried everything from diet changes, various supplements, herbs and exercise to alleviate them and after seeing Manju and receiving a couple of hormone rebalancing treatments, the cramping was greatly reduced. I could actually walk around and function whereas before I would have to take the day off and lay around with a heating pad while taking Motrin and often Tylenol like clockwork. Anim and the rest of the staff have been very nice and professional in terms of scheduling appointments and greeting you warmly and promptly upon check in. I have been going to see Manju for about a year now, and I really love this place and her service. Manju is genuinely a very caring and thoughtful person, and she will always be willing to squeeze me in if I feel like I need to come in sooner. She is extremely compassionate and is always there to listen. I never feel like this is a business with her - she truly cares about my well-being. I have been going in for several issues: I have a neurological auto-immune disease and also struggle with women's issues; I have also gone in for anxiety from life events that have occurred this year. I always feel better after treatment! Since I go in regularly for general upkeep, Manju always asks what issues I want to work on or prioritize that day, which is different than a lot of other acupuncture places that use the same points every week for a 6-8 week treatment. I am going to give a disclaimer here that this was my first time receiving acupuncture, however, I was heavily displeased with my experience. The woman administering it was very nice, however, I felt as though she could've explained the process better or what the pains I was feeling were. My feet went completely numb, I had pains shooting through my legs and was actually in tears from discomfort and I expressed my discomfort to her and she said "let's give it a few minutes" and left the room. I almost pulled the needles out of my body I was so uncomfortable. I began to have anxiety and left feeling as though I went through a traumatic ordeal and cried in the elevator. Here I am the next day and my hands are still very sore, she kept pressing on a point and tried 2 needles in it and I expressed huge discomfort. I had no feeling in my pinky for about 3-4 hours after leaving. If all of these are normal symptoms, okay, but I was not told anything of what to expect or how I'd feel after. That being said the receptionist was not warm or friendly at all. Did not greet us as we came in and barely said a word. Definitely not someone I'd want representing the face of my business. The one item I did enjoy in the process was cupping. I felt a release from this and my back really opening up. read more

I've been seeing Manju for hormone balance for a little over six months, and I am so incredibly grateful that I found her. I've outlined a few of my symptoms and their progress in detail below, (read: long post ahead), but on a personal level, I've really enjoyed seeing Manju every week. She is such a gifted healer, and she is always so compassionate and understanding. I love her gentle way of practicing, and, unlike going to a traditional doctor's office, I feel seen and heard. She takes the time to ask questions and base each treatment on how I'm feeling that week. To give some context, I've had several negative experiences with doctors and have been determined to manage my health on my own with lifestyle changes. I had been on antibiotics long term in high school for acne (if I had known how damaging this would be to my gut and overall health, I would never have started these!) and spent several years on the birth control pill. I accidentally got off the pill when I left it at home for a two week trip and felt INCREDIBLE pretty much instantaneously. (like...I could see colors again...I had no idea how numbed out I was on the pill until I got off) I then knew that I never wanted to go back on hormonal birth control again and wanted to manage my health in a different way. After four years of allowing my body to readjust after quitting the pill, I was still suffering from various symptoms, including hot flashes and night sweats (I'm 29), horrendous menstrual cramps (never had these before the pill), acne, digestion issues, anxiety, bruising easily, you name it. I wanted to get a little extra boost to allow my body to remedy these issues naturally, so I decided to turn to acupuncture...I'm so glad I did. Manju recommended once weekly appointments for 4-6 months so that we could monitor my cycle and watch the progress. I was hesitant at first because this seemed like an investment, but I was eager to try something that would help me heal my body in a natural way (as opposed to more synthetic hormones from my OB/GYN.) Progress was somewhat slow...no instant effect like with pharmaceuticals, BUT my night sweats, hot flashes, and menstrual cramps are essentially gone. I have some light cramping when my cycle starts now, but it's totally manageable...this compared to having to be in bed and go back to sleep. Acne has cleared significantly, my digestion issues are much better, and I don't bruise nearly as easily. The biggest impact (which I think was impacting hormones and digestion) has been the drastic impact on my anxiety level. I think if you had asked me before treatment with Manju if I was anxious, I would have said no. I didn't realize how much anxiety I was carrying on a daily level, and I know this impacts various bodily functions. Day to day things that were making me very anxious before (without me realizing it) are now less "eventful" and I am much more capable of coping with my anxiety when I do have legitimate stressful situations that pop up. My work is somewhat stressful, so I've really enjoyed this positive result. All in all, Manju is incredible at what she does and is essentially my primary care provider. We are now spacing out my visits since she doesn't see the need to continue weekly, but I plan on continuing to see her for the foreseeable future. Thank you for everything, Manju! read more

I feel like acupuncture is a very personal experience so I was reluctant to write a review. The receptionist when I came in was very unfriendly and the floor of the treatment room had what I think was the plastic covers from the needles on it- The overall treatment room looked dirty to me. That was all things I wondered about but the actual treatment was so painful with no regard for my comfort and the pain after was horrible. I gave it a few more tries but realized it wasn't right for me. I understand that acupuncture can be painful if areas need work and since I was new to it I stuck it out. The practitioner didn't seem concerned at all when I was in clearly very bad pain or during visits after when I told her how much I felt. I will continue to search for a new place but I wouldn't recommend this office. read more

On 05/25/2013, I ordered Si Miao San for my Jack Russell Terrier. I thought I would try them out rather than my vet's office due since they sell capsules rather than powder, since it is really a pain to put everything in a capsule myself. On 06/12/2013, I contacted the Acupuncture Atlanta about merchandise not received. Due to waiting almost three weeks to receive the merchandise, I had to reorder the Si Miao San from my vet, and I asked them just to credit my American Express card. In the live chat, I spoke to a representative who repeatedly asked me the same questions, and I had to repeatedly advise her the merchandise was not received. She asked me to check with my neighbors, whom I might add are never required to accept packages for me, and repeatedly asked me to check with others in the household when I told her I was the only one who frequently checks the mail. She said they don't offer refunds, rather they reship the material; therefore, I asked her to make an exception since I already repurchased the material. I also spoke with someone directly via e-mail who stated a supervisor would call me back. No one called. Therefore, I filed a dispute with American Express. Several weeks later, I received a letter from American Express stating they were taking the dispute out of status. Why? They had received a letter from Acupuncture of Atlanta stating they mailed the merchandise, and they gave them a tracking number. The problem is it was the same order that was originally shipped, and it was the order that I had requested a refund on. In turn, I had to file another dispute; therefore, I also opened up a BBB report stating the merchandise was not received, no one has contacted me, and that they never sent out new herbs per their policy, even though I asked for a refund. You'd think that they'd at least resend the order if they were refusing to refund the order. Acupuncture of Atlanta responded to the BBB fairly quickly. Their correspondence was curt, evasive, and didn't answer the main question of my BBB complaint, which was why a supervisor never called me back when it was requested, why if their policy was to reship that they failed to do so, and why they didn't give me a refund if the product wasn't reshipped. They also insinuated that they thought it was odd that I didn't contact them sooner if my dog was almost out of Si Miao San, which is a moot point since I can also walk down the street and get it from my vet's office. Therefore, I wrote back stating they were not addressing my complaint, and that I planned to write a scathing review about them online. That must have gotten their attention, and I believe this was the only reason I finally received a call back, almost ONE MONTH LATER. On 07/16/2013, I received a v-mail from someone at their company, presumably a supervisor. Keep in mind that the call was received almost 60 days after the initial order, and more than a month after I told them I had not received the Si Miao San. I called back and left a message stating they needed to direct correspondence through the BBB, since they waited so long to make contact, and that I believed this was a better venue to handle the dispute. On 07/18/2013, I finally received a credit from Acupuncture Atlanta. I also received an updated BBB response. and it stated that that were freezing my account; therefore, I could not purchase from them in the future. While I didn't plan to purchase from them in the future, it seems like a pretty poor business plan to handle customers in this manner. After all, the problem stemmed from their lack of communication. I agree with the person that wrote a complaint several years ago. Their correspondence is poor at best. I will not do business with them again because of their poor communication, and I'd suggest that any customer thinking about doing business with them think long and hard about our complaints. read more

I have been seeing Manju for over a year because of a bulging disc in my neck. Not only was this painful, but it was causing debilitating migraines 3 to 4 times a week. My neurologist prescribed me multiple medications, but the side effects were intolerable. I saw online that Manju had great reviews and decided to give her a try. I am so thankful that I did!!! I have been dealing with chronic low back pain for more than a year. I've had x-rays, an MRI, seen 2 spine specialists, a rheumatologist, been prescribed numerous medications, and spent a year in physical therapy with no diagnosis or treatment plan. I first tried acupuncture when visiting family over the holidays and found some relief, so I decided to continue the treatments when I returned home. Manju is the third Atlanta acupuncturist I've been to. The first one really wasn't helpful to me. The second one helped, but only if I continued going twice a week. If I missed a single visit I was back at square one, and I can't spend that kind of money on acupuncture. After my first visit to Manju I saw substantial improvement, and by my third visit was virtually pain free. My appointments are once a week, and even when I missed a visit my pain did not return. Acupuncture Atlanta has been my saving grace! From migraines, to back problems, sciatic nerve damage, stress, anxiety, menstrual cramps, sleep problems, you name it-they fixed/helped it! I have only been a few times and have already noticed such an improvement! I was able to come off of my twice a day migraine medication. I also didn't even realize how badly I slept until I had my first treatment and slept like a baby! I have never slept so well! I missed a couple weeks due to the holidays and forgetting to get back on track and ohhhhh man have I missed it! I am a Dental Assistant, so sore muscles have always been a daily thing for me, especially back pain. But, now I hardly ever have any back pain(especially when I come to appointments weekly, like I should) The first visit was around $120, but it was well worth it!!!! I would pay anything for the relief they have provided me. The visits afterwards were around $80 I believe. This was my first time experiencing acupuncture and I felt as if I wasn't properly informed of the process. Let me start by saying upon arriving the intake form was 7 pages long and it was about 80 degrees in the waiting area which wasn't comfortable at all. After finishing the intake paperwork we were taken back and asked a series of questions about our sleep quality, diet, exercise level and stress level from work. Nothing was explained about their acupuncture process at all, she said undress to your underwear and lay down and left the room. Once that happened they came back in and began poking needles in different areas of my body with no explanation of the process or what parts of the body they were working on. In my opinion they should explain the process more so people understand how it works and what exactly happens if someone feels discomfort like I experienced. Also, the office wasn't very welcoming it was a very stale environment, I felt as if there was no warmth. When I go to a treatment center I like to feel relaxed and this environment was the exact opposite of that. They also sold me a supplement that was 100 times more expensive than everywhere else it was sold online which I found to be very misleading.
