I have been looking for a medication that was out of stock and knew I would be waiting on my regular pharmacy for a while. I took a shot and sent an inquiry in Acton Pharmacy's page. I didn't think I would hear from them for days. I heard back right away! within hours I was speaking to the pharmacist directly having a back and forth conversation via email (which was what I wanted as I was not available over the phone). Good local pharmacy. A family member needed prescription embolism socks and we transferred the prescription here after a larger chain pharmacy could not fulfill it. Not only did they carry it but also made sure to get the proper measurement of the customer needed this prescription and provided a good amount of details on how and when to use it, and how to wash it. read more

I have been using this pharmacy for about 3 years with no particular problem. Recently I asked three times to have non-safety caped bottles but did not receive them. So at a recent visit, I told the person behind the counter that I had asked three times. She seemed annoyed and said she would make a notation in the file. She did not bother to give the bottle back to the Pharmacist to change to a new bottle. So I went home and called my doctor's office and asked them to transfer my RX to CVS. CVS called me several days later to say that a RX was ready, I picked it up and much to my surprise, with out me asking, there was a regular cap ( non safety) on my two bottles. I will stay with CVS. read more

I switched here from CVS, nuff said. Good customer service, and beats the long lines at a chain store. They don't have a savey-save card for their brand of oreos or skittles, but it's an old school pharmacy with people that know their job, and are easy to deal with. Need a prescription or over the counter medication, go there, you'll be way happier. read more

For ten years we used Acton Pharmacy alot. (Whole family has health issues!) They used to be a great local friendly small business. The reviews here are mostly old before they sold and retooled to do compounding. Now they have all the impersonal attitude of CVS but with less resources. Its really too bad. Fond memories of the old times. Now they stand around not helping customers, don't call if there is a problem and a simple refill takes 2-300 minutes if you are lucky - too busy with expensive compounds?!?! read more

I've used Acton Pharmacy for several years for prescription refills, in large part because of a bias toward supporting locally owned businesses. For a while it was a viable alternative to the big chain stores or mail order houses. But in the past year, service has declined significantly. Refill orders placed through the automated attendant line are frequently not ready, even hours after the promised availability time. On two recent occasions, they've only been able to partially fill orders due to lack of inventory. I haven't received a call ahead of time to let me know of the shortage, despite having to enter a call back number every time a refill is called in. Their cavalier response is "come back tomorrow and we'll have the rest of it". I'm busy - I don't need to be making multiple trips to the drugstore. Too bad they can't keep up with their larger competitors. read more

Acton Pharmacy is an amazing local resource. They provided my father's medicine through their Medicine-on-Time program for many many years. There were countless times they went above and beyond, demonstrating their commitment not only to superb service but also to my father personally. Jeff, the pharmacist who manages Medicine-on-Time, is wonderful and easy to work with. He was definitely a valued member of my father's medical team! I'd also like to give a shout out to Ted, the compounding pharmacist, who recently stayed late on a Friday night to make sure my father had what he needed right away. Our family tries to be pointedly supportive of small/local businesses. Acton Pharmacy is owned and operated by a local family who are a part of the community. Acton Pharmacy has employees that will happily research a product for you. While the local conglomerate sends you junk mail with sales incentives 2-3 times a week, this small business doesn't shove their inventory in your face (to turn a profit.) They are stocked with worthwhile merchandise-no unnecessary junk-for your needs. They will try to obtain that rare item for you if you request it. (I requested a natural mouthwash for my sensitive gums, and it arrived in 4 days, now they stock it for me on a regular basis.) As for prescriptions-unlike the conglomerate, they will not "auto" call you several times for a refill-(discretion is their motto, not profit at the expense of your privacy.) Our family has been using them for a couple of years. We transferred all our scripts to their pharmacy after several indiscretions on the part of some pharmacists at the big business. The pharmacists at Acton Pharmacy don't make you feel like you are being "processed". Each one has acknowledged me at one point, by my name. You will always be asked if you'd like a consultation on your script, no matter how often you get it. In the last two years we've had just one incident when a pharmacist blurted out loud, in front of other clients, the name of a prescription. This is a good track record in my estimation. Big business drugstore shopping was convenient for those cartfulls, with wads of coupons when my kids were little, and I was tight on time. Now that they are older, we no longer need the items that are unreasonably overpriced and require coupons to afford-diapers, formula, rash creams, etc...and we also no longer buy the add on "junk" that lines the registers. While I am grateful for that big business for employing many townsfolk, and providing us affordable alternatives with their sales incentives, and it has served our family for over a decade, we no longer find it necessary to shop there for our drugstore needs. Acton Pharmacy also has compounds and Homeopathy medications, referrals too. I haven't used either yet. read more

Love this pharmacy! The staff are very friendly and attentive. There are many pharmacists working and they make it a point to talk to you about your medications. A1 service! They also have many products that you would not find at a regular drug store. It feels like what a pharmacy is supposed to be. read more

It is like stepping back in time whenever you enter Acton Pharmacy ... staff are polite, attentive and service oriented ... there is a professional air about the place ... merchandise is appropriate to a pharmacy (no gee gaws and doo dads like other "pharmacies") ... amongst other services, they offer home delivery ... they are locally owned and operated ... they demonstrate their support for the community which they serve ... all that is missing is the drug store soda fountain of yesteryear ...
