Under Dr Law this was one of the best dentists in the area. Since he sold the practice it has become one of the worst. They have increased prices significantly while delivering very subpar treatment. Recently had the experience of them performing a procedure that I did not authorize, and then charged for it. when I complained their stance was what I wanted did not matter, what they wanted to do was all that mattered. Not willing to do what I wanted. Totally ignoring what the patient says. Definitely completely the opposite of how Dr. Law worked. Will be looking for a more patient focused dental practic. read more

After Dr. Law left, this corporation is focused on pursuing money and do not listen what patients would like to do. They're trying to drill unnecessary teeth to crowns, so just leave and find somewhere else. read more

I didn't have a terrible experience at any of my appointments here, but this place left a bad taste in my mouth. I was out of the country for an appointment that I totally forgot about since I scheduled it 6 months prior. I called to apologize after getting back to the states to the missed reminder call and a $50 CHARGE for missing an appointment (the first one I've ever missed). It was never indicated that this was a part of their policies! They refused to waive the fee or even lower it, and since I was moving out of state for school anyways, I decided not to pay. I also don't have the money to just drop $50 like that, when I'm not even planning on coming back. I have family that runs a medical practice and they are very understanding when patients no-show, if there's a good reason or it's their very first time. They also make their policies very clear from the beginning. So that's all totally fine, and I completely admit that I was at fault for not checking to see if my appointment was during my trip. After I moved, I went to see my new dentist soon afterwards, and she requested my prior dental records. I asked on the phone, and was told to email them, but they never got back to me. I assume this is because I never paid my bill. I'm pretty sure that in spite of that, I am entitled to my own records, and they should not be holding those hostage. Been seeing Dr. Law's office for over two years are leaving. Found the front desk staff impersonal and practice is run much like a factory. Dr. Law and hygenists were fine, but average at best. Bothered that they charge $35 to send your records to another dentist. When we emailed them about an issue involving our parents dissatification with there service we never even received a reply. If you want to be treated as one of a herd of patients then this is the dentist for you! read more

I am afraid I will not be able to join the chorus and recommend Dr. Law. Regular enough practice in an okay, but nothing to write home about oldish dental office. Reception staff friendly enough though efficiency not their strong suit. My main beef is with Dr. Law himself; about 24 hours after a filling in one of my back teeth, I started experiencing pain that became much worse in the next 24 hours. The dentist saw me without delay and explained that as a complete COINCIDENCE the filling in the tooth next to the one he treated broke. Now this is the side of the tooth immediately adjoining the side he treated a day earlier in the adjoining tooth. Answering my question, the dentist explained there is no connection whatsoever between the two things and this is a mere coincidence! Maybe this is the case, but I am not a great one for lotteries or such coincidences. read more

Like one of the other posters i'm not necessarily singing the praises of Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Law DMD. First to get the things going for Dr. Law and Family & Cosmetic Dentistry... his dental hygentists who do most of the 'heavy lifting' are excellent, gentle, and seem to know what they are doing. Dr. Law himself is a nice guy and does explain things well. This is the reason for the third star over just a two star rating. Now of what I wasn't too happy with and the reason for finding another dentist. First, the office is a bit tricky to find; on the backside of a business park whose address is on a main road which it does not front. Good luck, its on the backside of the Altantic Grill. Second, although he explains things well visits with the actual Dr. Law himself are limited.... this most recent visit lasted a total of 4 mins (yes, i timed it). He can be concise and to the point but the feeling of not being heard as a patient is an understatement. Before I can even process what he's said and ask questions he has said "have a great day" and seemingly vanished. Bedside manner good - giving patients an opportunity to ask questions - bad. Third point of contention with Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is the seemingly endless number of appointments necessary to take care of my oral health. Case in point, the very first meeting with Dr. Law was simply a meet and greet, and to take some x-rays and a general look in my mouth. After moving to the area and having not seen a dentist a couple of years prior I inititially took this as thoroughness and his attention to detail concerning my oral health. The ol' "check what's under the hood so we can do a proper assessment" kind of thing. However 4 appointments later and I am starting to understand how this business is run. Example, in May (third appt up to that time) I was told i had some places that needed work but he wanted me to do some extra flossing and measures to see if i could improve them on my own. But if they didn't heal we'd need to consider a deep cleaning or potentially even surgery. Fast forward to today... I get report back that the extra measures i've been doing on my own have helped all but one of those bad spots... time to plan another appointment to follow up with a deep cleaning. Hey, wait a second - i thought that was this appt was for - a deep cleaning if my spots werent better. Instead i was told "we didn't allow enough time for a deep cleaning" and sent on my way with another appointment in 4 weeks. I mentioned this seemed ridculous and a waste of my time - i was given a shrug and a "sorry". So in 4 weeks i'll have a 5th! dentist appointment for something that should have taken 2 or at the most 3 appts to correct. I can also tell this is something other patients of Dr. Law go through as well because he books out sometimes 4 months in advance (including middle of the work day appts). That states as a business you are a) spreading yourself too thin and taking on too many patients, or b) you are creating frivalous appointments which could be overcome with a few longer ones (what i believe to be happening based on my own experiences). Perhaps this is a concious or subconcious effort to bill insurance or patients?? Not sure, but am going to put it out there given my own experiences. So Dr. Law, and Family & Cosmetic Dentistry its time to take a look at your business practices. You are a warm and seemingly caring dentist who has a competent staff which knows there stuff. However you are running your patients into the ground with all the appointments. We come to you because we need good quality care from a gentle dentist... unfortunatley this patient will be looking for someone else who can do that in half the time/effort/cost as your establishment. read more

What can you say about a dentist? It sucks going to the dentist, but since you just gotta go, Dr. Law is the best. A little out of the way in Acton (depending on where you live I suppose), its worth the drive. Everything you'd expect from a decent dentist office: clean, professional, soft rock coming through the speakers. But Dr. Law is the best when it comes to how he treats his patients. He's gentle, careful, plentiful with the Novocain. He stops if he thinks it hurts, tells you when it will, and moves quickly. A filling in twenty minutes with minimal pain? Can't ask for much more than that! read more

Professional, polite, respectful, friendly with a soothing manner... and as other reviews have stated he is extremely gentle. I usually can take pain fairly well, but I practically fall asleep in the chair when I go there. He's like the Barry White of dentists. read more

Fabulous dentist....I have used him for 10+ years. He's extremely skilled and reasonable.

Dr. Law is great but his billing staff left a lot to be desired! They were very rude to my wife, and refused to enter the billing code correctly. As a result, we kept getting billed over and over from the insurance company. Our insurance company explained that the code just needed to be changed by the dentist office, which they refused to do. I left a message to discuss with the dentist and office manager and never heard back. This dentist lost my family's business because his billing department was so bad! read more

Would not recommend just want your money. Had in plant I had to keep going back to fix. Chipped tooth wanted to have it repaired. missed a cleaning so they won't fix my tooth until I do the cleaning on two separate days when people have to work it's quite difficult. I'm good there are plenty of dentist out there I can find somewhere better to spend my money and time. I would never recommend this place. Giving it a 0 star it won't let me on review. read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone! We live in Acton and that's the reason we choose this office. However, our impression is that staffs are very impolite and not professional. All they care is the money in your pocket! Dr. Law is a nice guy! That's it! Too many visits (appointments) for a simple issue. Plus they even charged me 50$ for the appointment that they changed the time by saying we missed the appointment. read more

Dr. Law and his staff are wonderful. I decided to go to him after reading the first three reviews. He is gentle, calm and competent. He said there would be a pinch with the novacaine. I could hardly feel it. The office and equipment are very modern. My visit was quick, painless, stressless. I highly recommend him. read more
