I was in the area so yelped for a place to get coffee and found this charming place. I ordered a hot coffee and a latte to go so i have no idea what it is like to dine in. The counter service was great - both barista and cashier were friendly, understood my order and took time to get to know me. No doubt about it five stars from me. The non-five ratings are legit -- usually busy (that's a good sign about product quality though!), hard to find a table, tables are small, and the food is not meant to be a meal. But their drinks are world-class and the staff is knowledgeable and polite. The food is good, too. Just don't expect it to necessarily fill you up. Finish your coffee and hit up True West a few doors down to get food-filled. :) read more

What we got Pumpkin spice latte S'mores iced latte Ratings Pumpkin - 4/5 S'mores - 3.5/5 Pumpkin was your standard latte, not much different than one you find at a starbucks. S'mores I enjoy the concept, it just tasted like funky marshmallows with a lot of ice. After living in Acton for 4 years, I finally made it to Acton Coffee House. Considering it's in a strip-mall-type-plaza, it had surprisingly good atmosphere. It's cozy with plenty of seating, including a few really comfy chairs. I had a medium latte which was decent - nothing exceptional, but nothing really to complain about, either. The corn muffin I had was moist and light, not too heavy. It was about $6 total. Service was fast and friendly. Again, nothing that really impressed me but nothing that turned me off, either. It's a warm and inviting independent (non-chain) place for decent coffee, so definitely a place I'd return. read more

I drive by this place often and finally decided to stop in and check it out. It's in a great location on the main street. I love the decor, it has high ceilings and bright lights, giving it an open and modern feel to it. There are a few places to sit down and enjoy you drink and get some work done if you feel so inclined. They also have some outdoor seating at patio tables. First time I went I got a mocha which was ok, but not my favorite. I didn't like the syrup left in the bottom of the cup. However, the most recent time I went in I chose to try one of the blended coffees (snickerdoodle) and was pleasantly surprised. I am always concerned about blended drinks being too icy and then you just get straw fulls of ice as you're trying to enjoy your drink. But this blended coffee was so creamy and delicious. Great little coffee place! I am a big fan of supporting local businesses. Having just moved to Acton I was looking for anything besides Starbucks and Dunkins. A quick google search found Acton Coffee House. I enjoyed their iced coffee with a shot of espresso, while my wife had their medium roast coffee. This is my favorite coffee house in metrowest, and I've tried a lot of them. It's the only place I can consistently find organic fair-trade coffee, which matters to me. The coffee is also high-quality and tasty--I've had regular coffee + espresso there, both were great. The baked goods are outstanding, scones and sweets and the like. It's also a great place to work with a laptop--the wifi is strong, and there are plenty of outlets and tables. There may be people having conversations, but hey, it's a coffee shop. read more

This is a great place, and the best coffee in the Acton area. A small shop, it still manages to have a good number of tables and some cozy chairs by the windows. The place is CLEAN and has a pleasant smell of coffee in the air. No musty, grimy floors here! The barristas are friendly and knowledgeable and my drink is always just right. Their beans are delicious and they have a variety of roasts to choose from. I usually get an americano and on the weekend I like to splurge on the gluten-free chocolate chip cookies they offer. Nice tea selection as well, though understandably not as comprehensive as a tea-focused shop. It's centrally located in Acton Woods Plaza, and there is always parking somewhere in the lot. I hope this business does very well, it's much needed here! I do wish they were open later at least a couple nights a week, it would be a prime spot for a weeknight decaf with some girlfriends. read more

This is a great small coffee shop. I come here once a week and enjoy my time. Personally, I like the roaster they use because the coffee blends are really flavorful. In addition to straight coffee, their other coffee drinks are great because they staff understands how to make them right. Their pastries are from a bakery, but no complaint on that front. As for staff, there has been a few turnovers in the three years I've been coming here. However, every employee was always polite, pleasant and made you feel like they care about you as a customer. No exception to the current staff. The decor is okay, but very clean - always. I definitely recommend stopping in for a cup of joe. read more

I've been in twice now, once for a mocha and once for a cappuccino. Both were fine but nothing special. I don't dare to try the iced coffee since I'm a bit of an iced coffee snob and warning bells go off in my head when I see that you can add "flavor shots" to iced coffee. Yeesh. The two staff members that were working Saturday afternoon, 12/13/20, were SO rude. My two friends and I were following COVID protocols, but the way they talked to us like we weren't was absolutely uncalled for. I understand these are tough times, but there are certain ways of talking to people, and that was not one of them. They made us feel super uncomfortable, as well as the fact that they let one of the only other patrons in the place continue to not wear his mask at his table. I know that you are allowed to take your mask off once seated, but if you're not drinking or eating ANYTHING, then keep it on. Especially in an establishment that's so "strict" on COVID protocols....We had to pass him just to exit the building, and yet they yelled at us for "not standing in the proper line." Only reason I'm giving two stars is because the drinks were decent. Unfortunately, the staff alone is enough to not go back. Some of my other friends later told me of their previous visits being very similar, and that's why they won't ever return. Very poor representation of your buisness. read more

It's very warm place to sit here for a coffee and take a break. The wifi is fast here and quiet for study. Also have few seats outside for summer time. I love the decoration here, modern and bright. I don't like very sweet drinks, so I often ordered coffee blended and loose tea here. I tried hot organic tea before, the loose tea quality is so excellent, worth the money. I love STRAWBERRY HIBISCUS and CHAMPAGNE BERRY very much, the taste is really nature and fresh. read more

Time to support our thriving West Acton Village! Especially since the Starbucks a couple minutes down the road is so crowded due to high school kids and shoppers. Espresso drinks here are just as good. Hoping they will add a simple lunch menu at some point. Maybe a few sandwiches similar to what they have at Haute coffee in Concord. Also it would be great if you could switch up your sweet treats every now and then maybe add some seasonal cookies and cakes to keep it fresh and interesting for your regulars. overall this coffee house is ok. The staff is definitely interesting. My cashier was scrambling back and for and seemed overwhelmed at times. The barista was a short blonde woman who barked orders at the other employees and failed to make eye contact with any guest during my time there. The latte I had was very weak and when I requested soy I was a little shocked to see they used the same container to steam it in as the milk. The bakery case was disheveled and rather empty. I asked for a chocolate chip cookie because I didn't see any in the case. The employee returned with just one and didn't think to place the remaining ones in the case to fill the voids. Unfortunately, the drip coffee tasted watery and the cappuccino lacked the espresso flavor and thick foam I was hoping for. This is the best coffee I have found in the area bar none and there are many options to choose from. Some of these so called gourmet coffee shops have coffee with that not so nice aftertaste (What is that?) and it's acceptable with Cumby coffee if I'm only paying a buck. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the place--it's clean, spacious, and well lit. The kids working behind the counter, and the woman who I presume is the manager or owner, didn't seem extremely knowledgeable about the origins of their coffees. The manager seemed a bit put off that I wanted to know origin in addition to roast (dark, med etc.) but the staff offered samples to help me decide. I ended up getting the Ring of Fire blend, and it tastes great. At $2.35 for a large, this cup's a steal. The lack of single origin coffee (which I believe, contrary to the manager's implied opinion, contributes significantly to flavor) is the only thing keeping me from giving a fifth star. If I could give half stars, this place would get 4.5. read more

I went here one to many times. I checked it out and they are more expensive than Starbucks, which is also reliable. This has happened 3 times where they don't put the lid on properly when I ask for black coffee to go, I put the coffee in my cup holder and after the first bump coffee is all over my car. This is a great place to get a 'real' expresso coffee! My husband and I have been going here for a very long time. It used to be Cafe Ziba at another location in Acton. We not only enjoy our coffee but, they have some very good pastries. I particularly enjoy the lemon scones and the chocolate biscotti's. My husband likes to get his whole coffee beans here to take home and grind fresh when he makes his coffee at home. He's extremely pickey about his coffee beans so this says a lot! The owner is always very friendly as well as the barista's and counter help. We also enjoy our friend's 'in passing'.
