Car overheated and radiator busted going past needles towards Los Angeles. Called AAA and they hooked me up with Matthew over at active towing. He showed up within 15 minutes of when we placed the call with AAA. Not only was he friendly and quick with getting us towed to a nearby shop, but he helped me out by dropping me off at a hotel and waiting for me to check in since I had my Frenchie with me and it was way too hot for him to be outside. TEAMING UP TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE! Do not come here unless you want TO PAY $250 FEE!!!! CHEVRON (31251 Goffs Rd, Essex, CA 92332) the only in about a 100 mile radius that is conveniently remodeling with not a single gasoline pump, only 1 diesel pump working. Called ahead and they did not inform me about the situation while I was on the phone just let me drive myself there to be taken advantage of. There's a tow truck guy named Tyler from Active Towing chatting it up with the owner of the gas station ready to charge you $250 for the service of giving you gas while you are stranded not able to make it to the next station because it's 50 miles away. He just waits there all day taking advantage of people and I suspect the gas owner and the tower are teamed up taking advantage of people. Very apparent when you are there. Had tons of empty gasoline refill containers. Why wouldn't you fill those up as a store owner and sell them if you have a conscience instead of partnering up with a towing company... Or leave at least one pump open while you remodel. Called the towing company and they said it's been going on for two weeks now. Everyone's making some bank. Wonder how long the remodel will take while everyone is cashing in so big! Shame on the towing company just waiting there with gas and still charging the whole $250. Something is very wrong with this place. They are charging $1800 for a tow from an accident and $80 a day. This weird lady talks like she's drunk, hangs up on us when we try and set a time to pick up, now says she doesn't have anyone to meet us there and hangs up like we are criminals when I fact they are. on December 23, I had a blowout on I 40 coming into needles. Matthew showed up tow truck but did not have the locking mechanism for my type of tire. I did not want the toe because I just wanted the spare put on but since the tool was not available, I had to opt in for the tow I wanted to be towed into Arizona at a local shop that I am familiar with to leave for the following day. He insisted that we stop in needles he said he had called the Shell gas station where the tire shop is and said that he had it all arranged and we were get a tire installed for $90 even though I told him I didn't go there initially I thought well this is a good deal to get a used tire and I specifically asked for a used tire. I didn't ask for a new tire, which is why I wanted to go into town of Bullhead city . we get to the Shell gas station iand wait on the technician to come in. strangely he was wearing the same type of uniform that the tow truck driver had on. the tow truck driver leaves us there. I asked the technician about cost to reiterate the tow truck driver statement of $90 for a used tire and installation. He proceeds to tell me that oh no it's $90 to open after hours and then it's going to be another $200 for the tire plus installation I'm like oh no that's not tow driver said. And I'm like well how much does it cost for you to put my spare on and he proceeded to tell me $90 to open the shop and then $35 to put the tire on. They are using AAA to make money on people that don't know the area and have to settle for Action tow company. They're obviously in cahoots with the Chevron tire place trying to get money from unsuspecting individuals! I am very disgusted active towing should be ashamed of themselves and don't think it's gonna stop here because it's not. I hope you lose AAA's contract.!! read more

When I called this place for help I was intercepted by a rude lady, who quoted me $450, which I politely declined. After I hung up the call the dispatcher proceeded to harass me via text about using their services, down right trying to bully me into it. She even went as far to challenge me as a mother. These guys were great ;this is the second time being towed by them. They are an authorized AAA facility. Daniel knows his stuff. Jonathan was also great. Made sure myself and my family were safe and offered us waters while stranded on the side of the freeway. Boat trailer had a malfunction and lost both wheels. So this will be considered a recovery. They handled it very professionally and got it Off the freeway.They were also very considerate of any damage that might happen on my trailer. Got us loaded up and out of there in an hour. Stranded with a broken truck and trailer with my wife and kids in another vehicle with another trailer in the middle of nowhere CA desert. (BTW, I recommend against Delphi fuel pumps as that's what failed after only three months on the job). AAA sent Active and David was incredibly helpful. Able to get the truck and boat to a place for repairs. The recommended service center was spot on and saved us a TON of time on the repair as well. We popped a tire on our Class A motor home while on I40, just passed Needles. Called AAA and they connected us to Active Towing to come change the tire. There was a slight mix-up between Park Road and Park Mohave Rd, making it hard for the tow truck operator, Daniel, to locate us but he kept the communication open and we were able to clarify within a short time. Daniel was efficient, polite and personable as he swapped out the blown tire for our spare. He had another coworker drive out and bring the correct size socket so that he could tighten down the lug nuts correctly. We appreciate his efforts and the response of Active Towing. read more

My Tesla was running out of battery and strained in an unincorporated area. Truck driver came to rescue, went through numerous humps to revive my computer and managed to put my disabled Model X on the flat bed. He also took us to hotel checked in. After 690 dollars we found out that Jr. Tire Shop was 5 miles from Essex Rd. Active Towing toke our trailer to the Mobile Gas Station in Needles that want to charge 160.00 for a 60.00 trailer tire.my husband drove up the street to A+ auto cars were they were courteous be careful with them taking your car to the mobile gas station where they get kickbacks read more

I asked the guy how much it would costs , he said the mechanic is 5 minutes away so it would costs about 150 dollars. After I arrived at mechanic shop, which is about 5 miles away. This review reflects on the receptionist and not the tow truck drivers. The tow truck driver who arrived for a tire situation was a very nice gentleman but when he realized we had damage a tow truck was needed. We called our road service who tried to add a tow to the original call. The receptionist was rude and nasty on the phone. When the tow service advised we were in a waiting pattern because of the receptionist I called her directly. When she finally answered the phone she was already in a nasty mood. I tried to tell her the tow service is waiting on info from her to add the towing. She refused to call them back saying it was their job to get in touch with her. I tried to tell her I called the cell number that called us with a quote of $1500 and the office phone and both went to voicemail. She would NOT stop yelling at me. They lost a tow because of her mouth. She has two ears but they don't work. Only her mouth and nasty comments come from her. They will loose a lot of business because she can not do two things and put it together to help someone. She left us stranded for 5 hours in 90 degrees knowing someone was out there needing help. Sorry they lost the tow call but it was all because of her. Our tow service found us another towing company but it took 6 hours to get us off the interstate 40. read more

We were going to Laughlin on a Friday night for my Sister-in-Laws wedding. Our car broke down on the eastbound I-40 somewhere between Goffs Rd. and Needles. Our alternator had failed and our car slowly died, we were on the shoulder stranded about 11pm. We called AAA who contacted Active Towing. It was pitch black and semi-trucks we're flying by us making our car shake. It was very scary and my wife was panicked. We got a call from Daniel Staniforth from Active Towing saying he was on his way. He was close by and got to us in about 15 minutes. In no time we were loaded on the tow truck and headed to Needles. Daniel recommended High Desert Mobil for the repair and also recommended Matador Taxi for the ride to Laughlin. Both recommendations worked out great for us. Daniel did an outstanding job rescuing us from the worst car break down we ever had. After breaking down on National Trails Hwy at 10:15pm Friday night, we called AAA to arrange a tow. AAA tried to contact Active Towing at 10:28 and they did not respond. At 11:24 Active finally answered and dispatched a driver. The dispatcher is most likely this company's biggest detriment as she talks over you (as you're trying to give directions), argues with you and lies about WHEN they got the call, She gives the driver the wrong directions to Goff's Rd NORTH OF THE 40, when she was specifically told Route 66 WEST OF ESSEX (miles away and south of the 40). If the driver hadn't finally texted hours later (and we found he was looking in the wrong area and was headed back!), I had to call him directly every 10 minutes to makes sure he was headed the right way and wasn't lost. He finally showed up after 4 AM, hooked up the truck and towed us into BHC. He didn't replace the driveshaft he had to remove to tow the truck either. There are other AAA contract tows in Needles, so if you are ever unfortunate enough break down on the outskirts of hell, do NOT let AAA call Active. Even giving them 1 star fools people into thinking there is a CHANCE Active can do their job. USE ANYONE BUT ACTIVE TOWING! read more

Got stuck West of Needles. Called for a tow and the dispatcher sent the tow to to the wrong location in the wrong direction. After several phone calls they got to me and told me it was my fault for giving bad directions and charged me for their mistake ending in a $345 bill. They then ask where I want to be towed. I specifically said to a mechanic who can work on my truck. They tow me to a mechanic and unhooked the car. Only to discover the Mechanic wont work on diesel trucks. The tow drive says he has already unhooked so it would be another $150 to take me somewhere else. It was the mechanic who ended up helping us get somewhere else. DO NOT use this tow company is you have any choice. read more

They did a great job of towing my jeep after it broke down. Another vehicle required towing at the same time and they were able to make sure both vehicles were accommodated. I did not vent my frustration about my broken down vehicle on the tow truck driver (it was not his fault my jeep broke) and found that by giving respect I received respect in return. They did their job excellently and got my vehicle where I needed it. Then they went above and beyond in my opinion and gave me a ride back to my hotel. Thanks for the rescue! read more
