I found this immensely beneficial, since some places just leave you doing little or nothing every day. The rooms look like The Four Seasons Hotel! I was in a room of my own...all hardwood, large windows with water views, a nurse with no more than seven patients. Lots of rehabilitation work, but everyone is very attentive. My nurse was phenomenal. There are no meal menus. An attendant comes to your room with a wheeling computer cart, and reads you menu suggestions, but you are always free to voice your own choices and wishes. Food was delicious. There's so much detail to every single thing here! If you HAVE to be somewhere, it's a terrible catastrophe, but being at Spaulding, Charlestown is the best!

My mom was a missing person from the state of Florida AND in the National Database for missing and exploited persons for 20 years when she was finally located in Massachusettes. Guardian made me take down my last review in order to get documents on my mom so I could carry out his arrangements as NOK, 8 days later my mom died from Hypoxia lack of oxygen to her brain. I don't see any legal notices neither did the persons working for Amesbury paper or Boston Online. I do not believe the guardian ever reported any of this to the courts and wouldn't give me the medical certificate necessary to petition the court. This is a nursing home. I've never agreed to put my dad in a nursing home. I wanted a rehabilitation center. So I just see how they do. They don't take care of my dad's They bathe them once a week. They don't wash his hair that I have to wash his hair myself and remove all the dead skin on his hair. They shaved them and they cut him after my father said I don't need to shave. He has Parkinson's so he needs physical therapy. He gets it but not enough for him to walk because according to the physical therapist, they need to cut his nails so it took three weeks and nothing no one did not come to cut his nails so I went and got a podiatrist paid $250 so they can come and cut my father's nails and still yet my father is not having therapy for him to walk. I'm tired of this place. They don't treat the patient are rude. Please don't put your parents in this place see for yourself. You will regret it. I suffer every day coming home to leave my in this place and I worry so much. I am looking to transfer him ASAP. He has been here for one month. Please take my word. I was hopeful about going here for PT until I started treatment. The space is really beautiful and…read morethey are pretty quick to get you in for an initial appointment (you need a script from your PCP first though) After one evaluation and 2 sessions, I realized they weren't experienced with treating chronic pain even though they knew that's what I came in for. I ended up getting pretty hurt because in my second session my overzealous PT had me do some exercises that just weren't appropriate for where I am at. Although at that session she explained that they probably weren't a great fit for me because they aren't used to chronic pain, I just wish I was told that outright. Or even at the end of the evaluation. The plus side of this place is that, unlike most PT offices, there is a lot of space and privacy when you meet with a PT. I'm sure they do a decent job with the generic one time knee/whatever injury kind of pain but because of my experience I wouldn't recommend them to a friend. *Note, they aren't at 280 Washington St anymore- they're at 20 Guest St. Brighton in the New Balance Building

Patients are treated with genuine care, and it clearly shows in the staff's daily interactions. As a private duty nurse working with individuals who have dementia, I have seen many facilities and never have I found one I would feel comfortable recommending for my own family an. South Cove Manor is an exception. I would confidently choose this facility if such care were ever necessary. The majority of residents are Asian, though the facility is welcoming to all. Staff members speak a variety of Asian languages, which is a significant benefit for residents and families. While I have not personally tried the food, I have not heard any complaints. Residents appear well-adjusted, well-supported, and consistently cared for at a high level--something I cannot say about most places in this industry. A+
