I was reading some of the reviews and decided I needed to write one. People are so quick to take to internet with negative comments and I think sometimes we forget how important the good comments are. We have had a lot of people leave company this year as one of the reviews has said. I'm not sure of all the reasons. I do know that time after time this year I have watched these kids rally together and hold their heads high and pick up right where they left off. They have remained positive and have continued to work very hard. I'm thankful that these kids are surrounded by such wonderful teachers that have set the example. They have taught these kids to not give up on themselves or each other. These are important lessons that I'm thankful my daughter is seeing from somewhere other than home ;) I actually think that having these families walk out on our kids after they have worked so hard on all these dances through out the year has made them stronger!! It really is our kids that have taken the hits, not us. They are finding out what they are truly capable of, and man are they doing great!! Some of these dances have never looked better!! And as to the comments about Rachelle's kids always being front and center and having more opportunities than our kids. They are both incredible dancers and yes they do have advantages over my daughter... They have been raised by a dancer to be dancers. If all of our kids were being raised by dancers we wouldn't need these great teachers to help our kiddos;) I wish so much some of these reviewers knew how hard to is to be a business owner and a mom. These comments hurt, and at the end of the day we all want what's best for our kids, we all have the same goals for our kids.

Unfortunately, it was far from what I expected in terms of organization and, more importantly, safety. And since no one reached out except to see if we were returning to join their program with an automated email, I thought I should share here. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, show us where to go, or provide any direction. After waiting with no guidance, I eventually had to walk into the gymnastics area just to find someone who could tell us where to be. Instead of assistance, I was met with confused looks, as if I had no business being there. I wasn't the only one lost--another mother and her two daughters were also completely unsure of where to go. When I was finally directed to the appropriate area for the ninja class, I walked my son over and was told that the two instructors would bring him back to me at the end. They told me to go check in with the front desk person, who I had not seen when coming in. When I did go to the front desk a young woman was on her phone and had no idea why I was talking to her. She said just sign in you don't have to tell me. Ok well I was told to come talk to you, was my response. It's starting to be clear at this point that if you don't know what's going on, for example if you are new, you have to figure It out by yourself. So, at 55 past the hour, my four-year-old walked out alone while I sat in the waiting area. I had been watching the designated screen, which was supposed to allow us to view our children during class, but I only saw my son once before the feed was just a picture of gym equipment. You could not see any ninjas in the screen so I have no idea what if anything they were doing. I waited for about five minutes, expecting one of the instructors to come out and at least confirm class had ended, but no one ever did. We left, and about 15 minutes into our drive home to Englewood, I received a call from the studio asking if I had my son--meaning no one even realized he had left. At the most basic level, a facility working with young children needs to prioritize their safety. This experience showed a lack of organization, communication, and awareness that I simply cannot overlook. Because of this, we will not be returning. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as these issues could have serious consequences if not addressed.

The South gym has equipment and coaching issues which was brought to the owner's attention. Apparently, she will keep the Xcel program, Rec and Ninja because they make more $$. The floor has many dead spots and the floor to ceiling windows are not tempered glass. The windows let in bright sunlight which has caused issues with tumbling on floor and vault. There are no coverings over them and floor is right next to the windows. Many of the kids have been at the gym for 6+ years so it's been devastating to them. The kids were offered a 1.5 hour try-out at North gym only to be told to join their Xcel program (which is a disgrace for girls who have always trained DP and are Optionals). They only accepted 3 girls for their DP team of whom 2 of them were employee's girls. They already knew who they were taking before the try-outs and just had try-outs to say that they offered them. Beth doesn't care about the gym as she has another business (this one was her husband's dream, not hers, and since he's gone she has let it fall apart). You will only see her in the gym when 5280 holds a meet. Equipment is not safe!

While we were looking and we found DAM dance studios and scheduled a phone conversation with JP. We immediately liked her and decided to do our first trial session with her. Coming to the dance studio we were very nervous because we are not dancers but JP was so kind and immediately settled our worries. We decided to book 10 lessons with her. Every lesson we did, we learned something new from forming connections, to inside/outside turns, to simple motions, JP was able to teach us everything. Not only that, but she was so kind and patient with us. She took each lesson at our pace and was encouraging us the whole time. By the end of our sessions our confidence grew and we were getting compliments from others about our huge dancing talent improvements. Because we started practicing early (1 year before the wedding) we were really able to space out our lessons and we had time to practice at home. That's something that JP was able to see and would always compliment us on. Our last two lessons focused on really perfecting our first dance and how to just dance during the wedding. I was very nervous about dancing in front of everyone and JP was able to completely ease those worries. Suffice to say we rocked our first dance and people were really impressed. We got compliments about it all night long and even after the wedding. The rest of the night I was out on the dance floor, pulling everyone else out too. Everyone had a blast and we had a full night of dancing. I would highly recommend JP to anyone looking for a dance instructor. She's funny, kind, talented, and an excellent teacher. He can't stick with a budget so is constantly asking taxpayers for bonds and mill levies or selling off valuable land to cover his expenditures. He does not care about the community and prioritizes clubs outside of the district over families that live in-district. He has an attorney that the district pays a lot of money to that will respond to constituents emails and is very rude at board meetings. The only board members that aren't appointed usually do not run a second term. We need to stop giving additional funding to Foothills Parks and Rec. until the executive director is held accountable for how much money he wastes and how he treats the community - or until he is replaced!
