We had a group of about 10 people try this out on a Saturday around 11am without really knowing what to expect, and it turned out to be an amazing experience. The staff was extremely patient and helpful--even when we didn't fully understand the concept after a few explanations, they encouraged us to just jump in and even walked us through a game. After that, we caught on quickly and had a blast. We were able to walk in with almost no wait, and anytime we needed a room it was less than 2 minutes. The concept is very interactive and fun--60 minutes was the perfect amount of time to explore without feeling rushed or burned out. Lockers with keys were provided, which was convenient. I understand why drinks may not be available inside given the tech and setup, but that's the only small improvement I'd note. A couple rooms had a slight odor issue, but nothing that took away from the experience. This is a fantastic place to get activated! The mini games last for only a few minutes each but there are several to choose from and most of them have a couple of styles each as well. Plus they get harder as you move up in levels. It is active interaction... climbing, throwing, stepping in the right places. Dodging the lasers... it is a fully interactive gaming place. The cost is so reasonable too!! Be sure to book your spot on line at least a day ahead because times do sell out. The gaming session last for 90 mins of fun! Groups of 4-5 play at a time... if you have more than 5 you just split up into different groups. They give you a wrist tracker you use to scan in at every game and it tracks your points and levels. With the level of physical activity and the amount of movement required, I feel there should be water stations. This was our second time visiting Activate Atlanta. We went as a group of 14 on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00pm. We arrived and the employees at AA checked us in, provided the wristbands for the games, lockers and explained everything to us. The five stars are for the customer service at the end of our gaming experience. We took a group photo in the main lobby and my water bottle dropped, broke and water leaked all over the floor. This was the MOST FUN PLACE ever!!! I brought my team here for some fun team building after a week at a conference. I just wanted to do something fun with them and found this. I'm not from Atlanta so I'd never heard of this place other than finding it on Yelp. So glad I did! We had so much fun for 75 full minutes. It was a group of us - 6 ladies - and I'm 41 and not crazy active but this place made me get out of comfort zone, have fun, and sweat!! When you walk in, you are immediately transported to a totally new place, like something I'd never seen before. The color grid game was where I started and it felt like I was on a game show hopping from color to color. I think what I liked the most about the experience is how you can choose team games where you work together or competitive games. Either is good but for team building sake, you really have to work together to problem solve the game and its directions as a team. So while some of the games were hard to understand, THATS THE POINT! We got so much out of this as teammates and as friends. It was a blast! My favorite games were the light puzzle game, the lasers (literally like you're on a game show - I felt like a ninja! ), and the color grid. You should know, though, that the games are ACTIVE. You will sweat. It's like a work out at a gym because you're running around for many of the games and you have a timer so you have to go fast. But if that's what the gym is like, sign me up! There's a water fountain inside for those who don't mind. You play games in a smaller room, so it's not in the way of others, and it feels more private for you and your friends. From what I noticed while playing, if there isn't a queue for the room you're playing in, you can press the button inside to continue/retry a level. If there is a group outside, once you're done with the round, you'll have to exit. I went at 11:30 on a Sunday and it was perfect because we had about 45 minutes before more people starting coming in and lines started forming our side of the games. I recommend athleisure and leaving your jackets in the lockers because a lot of the games are a true workout and you will leave sweating. This was such a fun time. I didn't quite know what to expect but I was so glad I saw a Tik tok prior to coming because I was able to dress in athletic wear and comfy shoes. Activate was a great time! You come in there and then they gear you up with a wristband to be able to get into the game rooms. You'll go there and they'll tell you about hundreds of games that you can possibly play. You got on the hallway and there's a hallway full of small rooms and fit 3 to 5 people. And then you basically pick where you want to go. The rooms themselves are 100% interactive hearing You may be throwing something like a rubber ball or a basketball, you may be playing the floor is lava or jumping over lasers or jumping over a rope made of lights based on the tiles of the floor, it could be anything! I would a thousand percent go back! It was super solid! If you go, just know, you will get hot and you will most likely sweat so wear some comfortable and moving friendly clothing. Don't try to be cute wearing some tight stuff that you can't move around in! This will make you raw fast or run or whatever. I saw somebody in there with some tight jeans and some timberland boots, I know that he was unsuccessful on his date lol lol. But you get 75 minutes to go and do all the things. You can go to as many game rooms as possible as many as you can fit. You can trade teammates if you brought a lot of people with you, so that's cool as well so you don't have to play with the same people the entire time. This place was SOO much fun!! I'm so upset that it's not in Arizona! I planned this as an activity for my husband and I while we were on vacation on atlanta, and it is by far our favorite experience of the whole trip (and we did a lot!) !! We originally attempted to just show up and play on a Friday afternoon around 3pm, however we were told that the next available time would not be until 8:30pm. I was disappointed but still had days left in the trip, so I went home and made a reservation for Monday. Upon getting there, staff was friendly and explained everything we needed to know. I love that they assign you a locker, it came in handy! There are multiple rooms with multiple choices of game play in each room. You can also choose to play cooperatively with those you came with or competitively, which was also really cool and added to all the games you could play. In each room, you can continue playing increasing levels, or even try again if you failed the current game. You can view your ranking amongst other people playing or even against those your playing with by scanning your bracelet given. This is also how you scan into rooms. 75 minutes is the perfect duration, as it was seriously a work out, the most fun workout I've had actually. I love that there's plentiful benches outside the rooms and a water fountain, though I think they are slacking not having a vending machine with drinks/snacks. They also had a photo booth room that we took full advantage of. That room could have been better labeled as well, as we would have missed it (though they do tell you it's there) if we weren't trying to go in every room. I have been wanting to go to a place like this for a long time, so when my gf sent it to me I was like let's go! It was so much fun! The have a lot of different games, and I liked how everything was set up in terms of accessing everything. The locker for your items is free, plus, and if it is your first time you will have to sign up, but it took less than a minute if even and they had a separate section dedicated to it with iPads. Overall I was happy and would definitely want to go back. Each room has different games that you can preview before you select what you want to do. Wait for the people who are in the room to finish the game and go out the exit, and they you go inside. Each room explains the game, but sometimes there is a delay and that is the reason why I am giving this place a 4, because there were a couple of times when we went into the room the voice was already saying, game start and unfortunately in some instances you only have one chance and then bam, exit the room. Additionally I wish the rooms were closed off. It is a little difficult to hear what the voice is telling you to do when you can here a party in another room screaming over it. Normally I love activate. Big fan. It's stupid hot in there though. They know we are exercising. Be serious. Cool it down. Then today was busy. So. Busy. Come when kids are in school because it was kids everywhere like roaches. Then when I came in the man added an extra 15 minutes and I didn't even ask for it. I was wondering why it was $65 when it's $25 a head. Then I saw it was an hour and 15 when we were playing. Annoying. One of the games, grid, was tweaking so hard. It's saying land on the green. We were literally jumping up and down on the green and it wasn't sensing. We are both over 200 so.... We aren't too light. My husband told me to stand still on the green. Didn't work. One game was in maintenance mode so that didn't help. Because it was so many people we really couldn't play games more than once ESPECIALLY hoops and lasers. The restrooms were clean which I love. Unfortunately the paper towels were out which I HATE. Toilets are manual not automatic. You decide if that's important. The screens would glitch too.
