I have 2 complaints but I think they're universal to theatres and event centre's in general; there need to be more ladies bathroom stalls or make all the bathrooms gender neutral. Second is that seats should be staggered so that you're looking over someone's shoulders and not into the back of someone tall's head.

I used to come once a year or so for a corporate town hall, but my current company holds a speaker series here pretty much once a month. Getting to the Metropolitan Centre is easy by foot - there's an entrance on the +15 level and ground level to outside. Parking is like any other parking downtown, so we won't dwell on that. There are multiple sizes of rooms, from a boardroom table of 12 very comfortable chairs with an awesome view of downtown, to rooms that seat 500+. In terms of catering, I've only ever had the sandwiches, but they're really good and the catering staff can tell you exactly what's in them, which impresses the heck out of me considering some of the service you get nowadays. And the cookies are legendary. Let's leave it at that. The staff is also very accommodating - they have no issues pulling in extra chairs if you exceed what you've got available, and once I had opted to stand at the back instead of taking up a chair and they brought one just for me. This is the best escape room establishment I've been to here in town. Let's see if I can write a…read morereview without spoiling any of the awesomeness of the rooms themselves. Once you experience Escape Hour, you can really see what sets them apart from the rest. This place strives to give you more than just a bunch of puzzles and a room you are locked into for an hour. Here you get the full experience, as they really push the thematic nature of each room. Everything from the decor and story, right down to the period specific, functional antiques that you must use to complete some of the puzzles. Another thing that sets them apart (and the biggest part in my opinion) is that none of the rooms are linear, you can start on any puzzle you choose and end anywhere you choose. You don't need to find the "first" puzzle which gives you the answer to the second puzzle and so on. If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, there is no break in the experience where you push a cheat button to get someone to come in and show you how to do it, instead they coach you through any difficult parts giving you just enough help to complete it without giving it away. Now this is not just one person sitting back reading a book waiting for a button in any room to be pushed. There is a dedicated host to each group that can see and hear everything going on in the rooms and communicate hints and tips through a TV screen in the room. This way they can give you help or hinder your progress, thus tailoring the difficulty to your group. They will not give too much help and spoil your experience, but they also won't leave you frustrated if you can't pass a challenge. One thing I should point out is that this is by appointment. You must book a room. However, they will accommodate pretty much any time 24 hours a day. We finished up just prior to a group coming in at 2am for a work party that deals with the graveyard shift. Yes, they cater to individuals, and corporate office parties alike. I'd like to say a bunch more, but it would give too much away. Needless to say, GO CHECK THEM OUT!

You can find their posters on community…read moreboards in Starbucks or hear about them on the radio, but if you want a true escape room experience ignore all those advertisements and go with the best. Most escape rooms will make things harder by making you work in the dark with a flashlight. Most escape rooms will give you a buzzer or button to call in an attendant to help you if you get stuck. You won't find any of that cheap, time-stealing nonsense here. You want it harder? Escape Hour gives you more challenging puzzles and more of them. You want help? There's a dedicated staff member watching and listening in and if you need help they will put hints on a tv display in the room for you to use (or ignore as we did most of the time) rather than coming into the room, disrupting your experience and not knowing what stage you're at before they help you. This means you don't lose time, you get immersed in the experience, and the best part? They will never give you the answer, just hints to help you figure it out for yourself. They have four rooms that rotate in theme and when we went, and will be for a few months still: -The Lost Jewel of Zanzibar (african safari) -The Curse of the Evil Genie (arabian nights) -Prohibition - the Lucky Duck (speakeasy) -Cypherspace (interstellar) I did the Zanzibar one. The rooms are amazing, with authentic antiques and period items fitting each theme. They are all based on true stories, and are so much fun that you can't help but dive into it. When we went into our room the door closed and we just scattered. It was so much fun, I can't wait to do the other three themes! The puzzles and setup is great for all ages and experience levels. With the different themes and difficulty levels, Escape Hour rooms are great for families, professional groups, or just having fun for an hour. The staff are friendly and you can tell they care about the experience with the dedication and quality put into the rooms. If you want the best escape room in the city go to Escape Hour. Cobbs Adventure Park in Calgary AB was definitely a great and fun place to visit !!!…read moreIt is a mix of zoo, activities, games and rides for the kids and family, a little restaurant and sweets stand :) The zoo is a bit of an animal farm with two capybaras, kangaroos and wallabies, sheep, goats, pigs, porcupines, emus, chickens / roosters and a turkey, and a sloth. Part of the experience is that, with the purchase of tickets, you can go into the capybara enclosure and meet the capys, feed and pet them. We are big fans of capybaras, we saw them in person at the Edmonton zoo, and follow many accounts on Instagram, but this was our first time meeting and petting them. They are super relaxed and super friendly. We had the opportunity to feed them fruits and greens, which was so funny!! We then visited the kangaroos and wallabies. Both were friendly, soft and used to humans. We visited with them, and fed them foods. We visited and interacted with the sheep and alpacas, which were also nice to see and pet. The staff of the park were very friendly and professional, and answered any questions visitors would have about animals. The ambiance was very nice - visiting with the animals, having a snack or busy with the games, it was a great day to enjoy the outdoors and animals!!

Back in the spring I did a painting class here where they gave us a piece of plywood board and a stencil that said spring has sprung and we got to paint it and decorate it with anything- it was great! Then just recently Pinnovate celebrated their first birthday party. At their birthday their was complimentary goodies from cobs bakery, complimentary ice cream or gelato from Fiasco gelato, pizza from coco brooks and coffee from rosso coffee roasters. They also were making balloon animals. We could visit and tour the store and paint complimentary cards with water colors. It was great!
