Had to get a last minute sport's physical for my son since Kaiser's appts are booked out too far. They did a simple physical. I think I paid $65. They completely the paperwork. Recommend if you're in a time crunch. Just kinda pricey when your used to paying a $10 copay. Other than that they were great. read more

This is a terrible a place. You see a doctor VIA VIDEO. Basically it's a blood draw lab (think Quest Labs) with a "doctor" front end to authorize tests. You go in, there's no receptionist, there is no patient intake. One door is for the lab where they process blood samples. Behind a sliding door on the other side of the office is where you see the doctor, via video! There is no active reception or intake. There is only one person seeing patients- an MA or nurse. We arrived and after about 20 min. she came out from beyond the thin sliding door (where we could overhear parts of her conversation with another patient) and seemed surprised to see us, despite our having made an appointment. So finally we go in, and she says, "hang on let me wipe everything down...." It's just a drab office with carpet and cloth arm chairs. Ew. Big TV on the wall. She donned her mask and we started talking. They don't take Medicare, we found out there- so don't take older folks there. Probably don't take MediCal either. This is not stated on their cool looking website. It's $100 out of pocket to "see" a doctor. And during this time of global pandemic, who is this doctor? Makes you think of that old joke, "What do you call a medical student who graduated last in his class...?" The MA/Nurse showed me on her phone a photo of their price list that seemed to be handwritten. Really class act. This is a place where capitalism and health care conspire to create this awful, substandard place for "care." Not to mention that sick people are coming in and out of en effin' Safeway. Oh my goodness what a life saver this gem of a clinic is. It is located next to the pharmacy inside the Glen Cove Safeway in Vallejo. It is best to call and make an appointment if possible. The telephone customer service is excellent. Brooke the nurse was the best ever, she immediately put me at esse and assured me I would feel better soon. Brooke was very efficient and professional and she truly cares about the wellbeing of her patient. I really needed immediate care but preferred not to go to the ER at the hospital if possible and this urgent care facility was excellent. When I consulted with the doctor via Facetime , he prescribed exactly what Brooke thought I would need to help my situation. The treatment I was given at the clinic immediately made my symptoms cede. The entire process was efficient and with waiting for the prescriptions it was a quick overall experience. I highly recommend this urgent care facility. read more

The Onsite MA was very helpful. Though some paperwork weren't complete when they handed it to us, she was still helpful. Their call center support though, sounds like they don't know what they're doing. Me and my girlfriend called today to ask for an xray result for her son. The call center support is telling us they don't have the result. They're suppose to be collaborating the results with each other. We are displeased with their service. There's nothing about urgent care in this place. I got there thirty min earlier than my appointment, sat and waited. I heard there a male and a female talking few words every once in a while! At 4 pm i went to the pharmacy as soon as I said Hi, a female with Western Europe accent interrupted me " it's not me"?!!!!!! I said I know and again she interrupted me " it's not me!!!!!" I said let me finish my sentence please. I wanna know if I have to wait for someone call me or i have to knock on any door? Any paperwork? I heard someone from far to say " tell her just to seat and wait". So I waited thirty minutes after my appointment while I'm in severe pain and fever. Eventually I got frustrated and knocked in the only door that could possibly be the right one. A lady with scrubs came out, and said she didn't know I've been waiting which was so awkward and then said she's waiting for a healthcare provider to call back. This is very interesting, she's there just to gather information and then start calling around to find a healthcare provider!!!!!!so why would people take an additional step to go to her and spend hours and hours? You can go directly to a clinic or an urgent care and visit the "actual" doctor. So after all that going back and forth, not that I don't recommend the pharmacy with very unprofessional pharmacist also this is nothing even close to an urgent care. These guys were great! I had Kaiser forever, and just got Blue Cross coverage and had no clue where to go when I got really sick. I walked in at 9:30AM with no appointment and did not have to wait. The RN was wonderful and we teleconferenced with a doctor. Got my prescriptions right there at Safeway and was on my way within an hour. I couldn't be happier with the efficiency and the service. For me it takes exceptional service (good or bad) to write a review.  Especially medically, as I am a nurse and picky and recognize my own bias lol.   I am writing two today, this being the bad one.   I injured my knee riding my motorcycle.  Honestly was sure it was not broken but, it kept getting worse.   Initially I tried Action Urgent Care before going to StatMed in Concord. (you can look for that good review if you like). Action is closer to my home and due to limited hours I had to take time away from work for this visit (not something I like to do). Before I explain the issue I had let me say the nurse inside this clinic was beyond excellent. My issue is not with her. My issue is that unless you are an advanced practice nurse you should not be alone in a clinic. There are likely some things this clinic can be good for however if you have an injury this is not an appropriate care location in my opinion. I made an appointment and was concerned when I arrived that they would not be able to meet my needs due to the injury. Still (bias and all) I tried to be open minded and give it a chance. The way this clinic works is the nurse assesses you then the doctor will virtually meet with you. Again the nurse did an excellent job in the scope of her practice and I knew the likely needed x-ray would be somewhere else. Initially I was fine with that. The issue began when although having an appointment I was not able to see the virtual doctor in the office due to a long wait and was sent home with a time to do a Zoom appointment. I accepted this however the time for the Zoom appointment came and went. The nurse told me if it was over 10 minutes after to call in and tell them. I called repeatedly for over 30 minutes getting no one to answer. Left a few messages even with no return call. Finally about 45 minutes after I got a person. By then I had spoken to my insurance to ask if going somewhere else would be covered for what essentially was a duplicate service. They said to tell Action not to file a claim since no doctor on site. When I got a person and told them this suddenly the doctor was available for Zoom. Then she failed to hear me when I said what had not worked and ordered a med that I did not want. To be clear I did not want any medication, over the counter meds were fine and I told her that. She ignored me. Then she wanted me to travel approximately 69 miles for an x-ray to San Jose. When I reminded her I was in Vallejo and said I want somewhere closer she said she would have her office call me to arrange it. Instead I receive an order via e-mail that I have to find a way to print and no direction. I then called the office asking what to do with it and was told "google somewhere for the x-ray, we have no contracted place in your area and cannot direct you". Seriously? No it is your job to help me. I did google it and found the only way I could get this done was to take more time off work on Monday and suffer through the weekend. Electing to not suffer after a night of no sleep due to pain and honestly frustration I sought care elsewhere (as noted) and was told it was good I came in because (as I knew) a doctor needed to physically evaluate my leg. Pictures taken by the nurse in no way told a full story. Even I did not realize how swollen it was till the doctor pointed it out while palpating it. Action should have informed me that their service was not appropriate for my situation and deferred me to find an onsite doctor location. If you just need vitals and a virtual visit will do otherwise I am sure this place can help you. However if you have an injury find somewhere that has the ability to do x-rays, provide sutures if needed, provide equipment (braces, crutches, etc...) that this location simply cannot do for you. The only caution is that the doctor was clearly not a good one as she either did not know she could not help or refused to say that due to wanting the payment. Either way I would not say that is safe care. Please if your issue is an injury find an urgent care that offers onsite doctors Or nurse practitioner and full services. You should not have to keep seeking care and going multiple places. You are entitled to quality knowledgeable care and they simply appear to be unable or unwilling to offer it at this location. read more

I am from out of town and not familiar with Vallejo area urgent cares- I chose Action because it was close to my sisters house. I got right in, Amy was fantastic, knowledgeable and attentive. The Dr (I'm sorry I forgot her name) was very helpful as she had to deal with Medicare formularies as well as help diagnose- this was on a Sunday afternoon as well. The beginning of this virtual mystery did not bode well. I called the exchange and set up an appointment. Got there on time, but found no one in the office. There was a sign on the door in the waiting area that said to knock here. So I knocked. Nothing happened, so I stood there for a moment, shrug my shoulders and then sat down. Sat for about 20 minutes and it look like nobody was there. So I called The Exchange again and told them what was going on and they said they would try to get hold of somebody. Meanwhile another 15 minutes had passed. Finally, a pretty little girl stuck her head out and apologize profusely for not being able to answer the door because she was with another client. Okay, I can deal with that. I was really pissed, but,once the nurse explained situation I calmed down. So the only real person in this particular office is a nurse, just out of school. She didnt have to tell me. She looked 11 and giggled a lot. But she was still good. The doctor themselves are virtual. In other words the nurse takes all the information, and when the doctors free they appear on the screen. All right, I'll buy in. Let's see how this works. I came in with bronchitis and a sinus infection. I'm not new to this, but it has been a while, thank goodness. So the doc came on and ask the nurse to listen to my chest. I guess there is a speaker in her stethoscope. When she put it up to my chest, and I breathe in and out, like the doctor requested, I could hear it on the doctor side. It didn't sound very promising. So I talked to the doctor a bit. She asked me my history , my experience, and my symptoms. She proceeded to diagnose me, and told the nurse to set me up with an Albuterol treatment in the office. You put a mask on and they pump albuterol into your chest for about 10 minutes. It did a great deal for clearing up my chest. The doctor came back on and listened to my chest the same way. She laughed and said this is just amazing. technology can be phenomenal. So my chest was much better, and then we talked about treatment. Because I've had this before, I know what the standard treatment had been. She knew exactly what she was talking about. She set me up with some inhalers, some antibiotics, and some kind of steroids something for my chest. Then she called it in to my Pharmacy. I have to say I was kind of suspect in the beginning, but after going through it I can see where a good doctor would make this easy. I could see she was doing this from inside her home, and actually she looked like she had not been up that long, or had been too busy to take the time. I'd go with the latter. It was nice because I could tell I was taking to a real person. Ok, here are the reasons I gave a four, and that was generous, but for the nurse. 1. It seems the exchange give the nurse 30 minutes per appointment. It takes that long just to gather information. And then on top of the 30 minutes having a treatment like I had to go through, with the Albuterol, it takes it up to an hour. That means the person behind me have been waiting at least 30 minutes if not longer. There's got to be some way for the office to set up something more realistic , as to not inconvenience the nurse or the patients. Hey, here's an idea, why doesn't the exchange just call the nurse at set the appointment up with her. Acceptable time frames are set , and people know about how long they're going to have to wait. Or, I would say 45 minutes between appointments is better than 30. There's a lot of discussion that goes on between the doctor and the patient. 2. The Exchange didn't give me any information about cost. I have no insurance. It was $200 for an office visit insurance. That's a bit steep for a Urgent Care inside of Safeway. The nurse called a Urgent care in American Canyon for me. It was $150. We decided to just stay where we were. Just so you know, $200. After all that, my visit went well. The Doc was terrific, and I got relief before i left the office. I would do this again, but to be honest, I'd probably go to American Canyon before going here. Just because of the money. I was weird about this place so I decided to check it out walked in without no appointment the nurse was very nice she greeted very friendly she took all the signs took everything down very friendly nurse did a video chat with the doctor she was very very nice she listen to hear your side and see what's wrong with you very good doctor I would recommend this place to go. read more

I'm sorry but i really think it's a waste of time and money. There's no Doctor there! The girl or CNA was nice but i don't think she was very knowledgeable. I was trying to tell her terms that she should know, considering she said she's a nurse but she looked like she had no clue. Also inside there is just a chair, nothing even to lay on to get checked. I had severe pain and she told me to somewhat sit back and lay slightly on the chair, which hurt, and i told her that I can't be in that position for long time because it was painful. The Dr. on the tv didn't seem like a doctor at all. Did not really give me any answers either. I felt more scammed than anything..and I lost $100 to get checked for nothing..should of just went to a real clinic!! Total waste of time..DON'T GO THERE!! It was hard to find until they told me it was co-located inside the Safeway at the website address. The person on duty, Rachael, was very professional to get me checked in and make a teleconference with an MD in San Jose. I'll omit any details of why I went there. I left with some over the counter medication to see if it helps. If this review is read by management, I strongly suggest you work with Safeway to improve your outside signage. For Rachel, I think you have what it takes to be an excellent MD if you decide to stay in healthcare as a career. read more
