My car battery died after leaving my vanity light on overnight. I needed to get a quick jumpstart to make it to work on time. They had great reviews on Yelp and are very close by so that made the decision to use them easy. The guy on the phone was courteous and professional. The tow truck driver showed up promptly and was very nice too. I paid cash and gave him a large bill which he didn't have enough change for. I asked if he didn't mind waiting for me to run to the store to get change for him (I was actually expecting for him to roll his eyes in annoyance...lol) but if he got annoyed he hid it well. I went to the corner store, grabbed a couple of chocolate bars to make change. I gave him one, kept the other, and told him how thankful I was. My experiences with towing company haven't been the greatest but I gotta admit these guys are very proficient so I highly recommend them. Before leaving he gave me a flyer and asked me to post a review if I was pleased with his service, so here I am. It's the least I could do! THANKS ACTION TOWING!!! read more

Basically, call anyone BUT Action Towing and request that your roadside assistance company send anyone BUT Action Towing. You've been warned. I'm never using this company ever again! My roadside assistance company dispatched Action Towing to tow my car after I was involved in an accident where my vehicle was disabled and possibly totaled. Action Towing arrived fairly quickly but that's about all they did right. The tow truck driver hitched up my vehicle and moved it from an active intersection and pulled it off onto the right lane in an active street. The driver then began to discuss my options: either take it home, drop it off at a body shop or have it taken to their yard where my insurance company would pay the tow yard a daily storage fee and I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. The driver suggested I let him take my car to his yard since the car would likely be totaled anyway. I politely declined and asked the driver to tow my car to a body shop that was one mile away. The officer that arrived on scene to take a report required the tow truck driver to clean up the scene. About 15 minutes after the tow truck driver hitched up my car and pulled it to the right lane on an active street, the driver began to say that he didn't think my coverage would pay for all the tow fees and that I would have to pay out of pocket. I asked him how much and he got on his radio to talk to his dispatcher who was throwing around a bunch of numbers. The tow truck driver came back and said that if I wanted it taken to a body shop (one mile away), I would have to pay $185 for his wait time. Keep in mind, the driver had waited all of about 15 minutes because the police officer did not let him go with the vehicle yet because the officer was not done with his report. The driver also offered to waive his wait time if I allowed him to take the car to his yard. I declined again and told him to take up his wait time claim with the roadside assistance company. At this point, I walked over to the police officer and asked him whether this tow truck driver's behavior was normal. The officer basically told the driver to knock it off and the driver seemed to have accepted the officer's direction. Nope. The driver walked back to the tow truck and insisted that I pay him or that he was going to call my roadside assistance company. I got on the phone with the roadside assistance and asked them why they would send out a company like Action Towing to try and extort money from me when the driver was supposed to help me. After discussing with my roadside assistance company and informing them that the tow truck driver and his dispatcher were basically trying to strong-arm me into letting them take my disabled car to their yard, my roadside assistance company said that was not allowed by their guidelines and that they would be sending another tow truck company to help me. At this point, the tow truck and my car were in the right lane on an active street. The tow truck driver proceeded to drop my car down from the hitch, unhook it and then drive off, leaving my disabled vehicle in an active lane on an active street. Two words to describe Action Towing: unprofessional and crooked. Not only did they fail to do the one thing they are responsible for doing, which is taking care of their clients during an unexpected situation, but they indirectly tried to take advantage of their client. I would like to recommend this towing company to anyone. I live in San Diego and was traveling to Fresno when my car broke down in northridge area, I had my 7 year old with me stuck on the side of the freeway. I called on roadside assistant and they couldn't give me a estimated time. I was sitting in my car and my insurance finally got back to me about about finding me a tow company that was willing to tow my car to fresno, Action Towing did the job. Ronny came out knowing that the driver who will be towing my car to Fresno was finishing up another job, but Ronny took his time and came out and told me someone was coming. He stayed there till the other driver was there. Eddy drove my son and I to Fresno, he was a very nice man. This company has gave me hope for a wonderful holiday and being able to get me too fresno just before Thanksgiving. I would give them 100 stars if it allowed me. They're truly about their customers and best customer service i have ever experience. Thank you team action towing and it was nice doing business with you. Keep up the good work. These guys were absolutely awesome. I was in a bad accident, my tow driver kept me calm and assured that everything was fine. He instructed me to give him a call before I spoke to the insurance company to help guide me through the process. The next morning, I called him and I must say, his advice was spot on. I really want to thank Action Towing for making a very difficult / scary experience for me as smooth as possible. It was a nice feeling having them on my side. read more

Broke down on the CA 118 highway at Balboa Drive. CHP called Action Towing. The tow truck arrived. The driver was courteous, the tow truck was clean. Driver immediately explained the rates, which were high, but acceptable. 80/ half hr and 2.66/min. My dealership was 20.4 miles away. I calculated $80 plus maybe $90 to get to my auto dealer. Cost would be around $170-$200. NOT! Driver did not notify that they are charging you the minutes from dispatch to your location, then they charge minutes from where they drop your car off to get back to their dispatch location. On top of that, the driver and someone on the radio, took 20 minutes to figure out the bill. I was charged $444 for a tow of 20.4 miles that took around 35 minutes to tow from break down location to the Dealership. Overall, after talking to the dealership, the cost for the tow was 33-50% more expensive than any other tow they have ever seen for a local tow. Charging by the minutes is a SCAM, especially charging you for the driver to drive back to their garage, which I know doesn't ever happen, since they drive around looking for tows or get dispatched to another call. I was a police officer for eleven years and worked hand in hand with towing companies. I give them two stars because of the drivers professionalism and cleanliness. read more

I just found these guys on google .. so here's the story I was in a meeting while my mom called me freaking out her tire had blown and she was stuck on Winnetka and Parthenia , she has no experience in changing tires. so as a good daughter i went on google searched for towing companies these guys had no reviews but they were close to my mom , and were willing to take her to a tire place VS tow her somewhere else. I was told on the phone they will be there in 10 mins.. Dude this guy beat me to my mom the van was already on the tow truck.. He was nice clean cut..look like he knew what he was doing and took us straight to a tire place down the street from where she was.. none of that BS other companies do by taking way out of your way and charging her more for millage just to make more money.. These guys are very honest I highly recommend. Now I am back at work within 30min just like I promised :) read more
