Review of Norris Sales Company…read more I am so disappointed in the juxtasposition of how this company advertises itself and how it and it's staff actually operate. The first day that the lift was dropped off I was told it was the oldest one that they had in stock. On a month rental, I was charged a damage waiver fee along with having to provide my own inland marine insurance, which essentially covers damages. When presented with the inquiry I was told that it's company policy. This is a cost that I took on instead of forwarding it to my client. During the first hour of operating the lift it shut off on me while I was alone, 50 feet in the air, and the cage tilted itself. The lift was then switched out, the next day, costing me a day's worth of work. The cage on the newly replaced lift would not swivel so a mechanic had to come out and service it, costing me more man hours on the job. A few days later the alternator on the lift began failing and we lost a total of 3 days in time due to it not working, servicing hours, and a swap out. I was told that they were down a guy, regarding mechanics and that I'd have to wait for it to be serviced and changed out. Mechanic showed up the first time to switch it out and never brought a key to start the machine. The most recent lift that they gave us ran out of gas after only a week of use and we were told that we had to provide our own fuel service. I would think that a 40 gallon diesel tank could handle being ran, on and off, for more than 7, eight hour days. If it were allegedly full when it was given to us. After being behind on the job (of which would have been finished within the 28 day rental) due to these problems: I had to request that the lift be rented for another month because they only charge by the week or the month. I was given a quote for $3600 over the phone then billed for $4,440.00. When I inquired about the cost I was told that the quote didn't include damage waiver fees, taxes, etc... When it's all said and done: contractors should rely on their vendors to, partner with them on projects. Not make them look bad to clients and cost them time and money. Though it may take a little more footwork on your end, I'd go elsewhere for your rental needs. It may even cost a little more upfront but in the long run it won't cut into your bottom line. These guys are going to do whatever they can to squeeze more money out of you with no remorse nor concern for future business. Giving you lifts that don't have a full tank then charging you to refill it upon returning the equipment etc....

Emergency SPACE HEATERS?…read more Hey are any of you multifamily home owners whose boilers quit in the middle of the winter? Are your tenants gathering with torches and pitchforks outside your door? While you're reeling from the cost and hassle of having to replace your boiler, your pipes can be freezing. You'll need emergency heat. If it's after 5pm on a Friday, you're out of luck. Most space heating rental companies only want to deal with BIG companies or commercial accounts. I made call after call to NYC emergency space heater rental companies, all took my information, few returned my call or were able to help me. Many were astonishingly unprofessional. Enter PRIORITY RENTAL. Luke answered the phone when I called and got me most of what I needed the same day, at a reasonable rate (especially factoring cost savings of avoiding burst pipes). The heaters provided were very small in size, H1.5E - Commercial 1.5 Electric Fan Heater. 115v, 15 AMP but really did a great job heating up large spaces. FYI if you use these, turn them down medium so you can use more heaters and more evenly distribute the heat, otherwise they could blow your circuits! By the way, you'll also need some o' dem heavy duty extension cords like the kind you use for air conditioners. One heater per circuit. When my pipes almost froze and I need more heaters, I called on a SUNDAY and he returned my call and had Eric drive all the way from Pennsylvania for the extra heaters. Everyone at Priority I spoke with were polite and professional at all times, and truly saved my a$$, going above and beyond. We are now toasty warm and can sleep well until the new boiler is put in. I would highly recommend them again to anyone who asks.

Oh. My. Word. If I could give zero stars, I would…read more We had a horrible experience with the Media store. It started with the blond boss lady greeting us with "is that your truck? The tables won't fit." Um, Hi. How are you? (btw, the man that loaded up our truck was wonderful and fit all 7 tables and 50 chairs in.) We unloaded the tables at home and I thought I'd just raided a trash dumpster for them. Seriously. I called the next day to complain and was told "Well it's our busy season, so you got the dregs." I'm sorry. What? No apology. Just a "well, we just got some tables returned, so we'll come switch them out." Which they did. (and again, the man that came and switched the tables was super nice.) The "new" tables were barely better, however. Fast forward to returning them. Our party was on Saturday, and the rental place is closed on Sunday. So, after work on Monday, I called to say "I know you close at 5, so I'm calling to say I will be there right around then." A woman stated "well, that's cutting it close." Um, where are your people skills? My son and I pulled up at 5:00pm on the dot. The yard gate was closed and locked. The original rude blond woman was standing outside the gate with a dog, having clearly left work BEFORE 5pm. I rolled down the truck window and the lady said "We close at 5. The gate is locked and I don't have a key." She didn't even PRETEND to care. A car with two men in day-glo shirts pulled up next to her, said something, and drove away. I'll bet they were the yard workers asking if she wanted them to help us. Clearly she did not. When I said she was going to have to pick the tables and chairs up, she said "It'll cost you $30." What?! I'm sure they'd pick them up at my house and drop them right to another customer during this "busy season"! Seriously, I have never experienced such poor customer service. I will never go back and I will recommend that no one I know does either.
