Had a water leak by our refrigerator and cabinet area. We couldnt find it. First technician couldnt find it either. So Action Plumbing came to the rescue. Talked with Nathan who was very cordial. Told him of our situation and needed help right away. Didnt want any more damage. Water leak is brutal and catastrophic. He arrived within 30mins. He looked around and found the culprit. A pin size hole in the plastic water line that goes to our refrigerator for our water and ice. The only hard part was moving my refrigerator. It was in their tight. But Nathan and i got it out. I had placed a request in with American Home Shield to get my two toilets fixed. The very next morning, I was contacted by Charles, from action plumbing. He was the most courteous person that I've ever spoken to in the phone. I had them out under a Home Warranty claim and they did all the work I needed. But now that I started using one of the toilets that they fixed, it is not working properly so I can't really use it. I have been trying to contact them for awhile, but all the numbers that I've found for them say leave a message...and their mailbox is full, so I can't leave a message or make contact. DO NOT EVER use this company. Nate, technician, is a bold face liar. He filed a false statement to my home warranty service company, which was disputed and fixed by another company. Another problem reported was accidentally sent to their company. I contacted my warranty service and requested another plumbing company. I am updating my review from 6 years ago to tell everybody to stay as far away from these people as possible. They charged us around $7,000 to "repair" a burst pipe under my driveway. They used the wrong copper pipes and now everything they did has to be replaced with the right type of copper pipe. I very rarely give out a 1 star review for a business since I know most, if not all, are trying to offer their services to the public as best as they can and in turn make a living. Well, I have to say, I have no second thoughts about giving Action Plumbing 1 star. Why? ... Here's the timeline for my interaction with them: Saturday evening I discover my water heater is leaking - Action Plumbing is the company that installed the heater 4 years earlier so the heater should still be under warranty - I leave a message on Action Plumbing's voicemail about the issue (I know it's the weekend so figure I wouldn't hear anything back 'til Monday morning.) Monday (holiday) I call first thing in the morning and talk to the owner, Charlie. We discuss the heater issue and he asks me to text him a picture of the identification sticker on the heater so he can check on the warranty status...he calls back in a few hours to verify that my heater is still under warranty and needs to check with the plumbing supplier (Fergusson) for a replacement. Unfortunately because of the holiday, they're only open half day so Charlie says he'lll call them on Tuesday. Tuesday mid morning I call Charlie and he says the Waipahu location doesn't have the replacement so he'll need to call the Kalihi location and will get back to me. Tuesday evening I don't hear back and leave a voicemail asking for an update Wednesday evening I don't hear back and leave a voicemail asking for an update Friday mid morning I call and get Charlie on the phone, as soon as I say who I am he immediately says "OH, I HAVE TO CALL YOU RIGHT BACK!" and hangs up. I figure that's fine, I'm just glad I finally got in touch with him...but sadly, no return call from him for the rest of the day. Saturday mid morning I don't hear back and leave a voicemail asking for an update. I will admit, the message I left probably sounded a bit harsh because by now I was pretty irritated. It had been a week with no water heater and I now have to wait until Monday to try and get another plumber since Action Plumbing obviously had more important customers to attend to. Well, Monday came around and I wasn't surprised that I hadn't heard a word from Charlie over the weekend. I ended up goind down to Fergusson Plumbing Supply in Waipahu who said they did have the replacement heater in stock and gave me the names of 2 companies to call to install it. One was Air-O-Smith and one was Action Plumbing...guess which one I called...LOL. The heater was replaced later in the week and Martin from Air-O-Smith did a really good job. Action Plumbing has a good overall star rating on Yelp but I do see that their other 1 star reviews say the same thing, they abandon their customers and don't return calls. I guess if you choose to go with them then be aware it's a roll of the dice, and any future support for the jobs they did for you might be met with the same "you're on your own" attitude. All I know is I was without a water heater for 9 days longer than I needed to be, all due to Action Plumbing. read more

Do not use this company. Incompetent isn't a strong enough word to describe the quality of work. They came out to fix a dripping tub faucet. After replacing a part, the faucet wasn't dripping but a couple of days later, I found a large amount of water dripping from the ceiling below as this shower was being used. I removed the cover to find the leak. It was leaking from the part they replaced but only when the water was turned on. They came back out to fix it. A few days later, I found another wet spot on the ceiling near the first one. This time it was a constant slow drip from the same part. They blamed me for removing the cover and refused to fix it unless I paid over $500 to replace the pipe fittings. I said it was their responsibility to fix their workmanship, and I didn't do anything but find the leak. They never responded. I ordered the parts they supposedly replaced online for about $100 and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. One of the parts they said they replaced was old and had a crack. Don't use them and tell a friend. read more

I called around 9:00 am regarding a leaky kitchen faucet. Owner Charlie called me back within the hour and said he would send someone over asap. Jason soon stopped by to examine the faucet. He advised a new kitchen spigot as mine was 15 years old. He said I could save a bunch of $$$ by going to Home Depot and buying myself. He explained exactly what brand and type to buy. After a few hours running errands which included buying kitchen tap I called Charlie back. Jason came back and my kitchen faucet was replaced by 3:00 pm. My shower faucet handle broke this morning. My home service company sent Action plumbing to fix. I had carried a variety of tools to try and turn off the water (I am not a plumber, so didn't know what I would need). I left them on the counter. When the technician, Nate, came and saw them he asked me what they were for so I told him. He accused me of damaging my own faucet to then get fixed. I could not believe it. I asked him why he would even say that! His answer: you would'nt believe what I've seen. I was so offended. I called my wife to tell her what he said, and he came out of the bathroom and said "I can hear you". I then said, so, you don't want me repeating what you asked me. I had a new washer and dryer delivered to my house only to find my water valve would not close. I called Charlie of Action Plumbing and despite being very busy, he answered my call and politely asked to call me later in the evening. Later that evening he called back like he said he would and got down all of the information of what he needed to do. This guy did an upstanding job!!! He was called out to fix the problem the Steve's Plumbing had created. My garbage disposal was leaking again and had ruined the flooring under the sink. He came in and everything was fixed in less than 10 mins and he explained everything to me as he did it! The guy's name was Charlie and he was fantastic! Called a couple of days in advance for them to check a leak in my faucet. Appointment was made for a one hour window time frame in the morning. I was home the entire time, and apparently these guys called my phone and left a message. I didn't get the call or message. So they moved on to the next. Didn't bother to show up at all, didn't bother to call again. Basically wasted my time. What's the point in making an appointment if these guys aren't going to even show up? I own my own business, too, but I show up every time, unless my clients call to cancel. I did NOT call to cancel. I, unfortunately, didn't get their one phone call or message, but that doesn't mean they can just pull a NO-SHOW. You call again. Until you hear the words- "I'd like to cancel" or "no don't come over", you show up. What if I was on a conference call. What if my phone was on silent and I just didn't get to it. TERRIBLE customer service. I guess they're so busy that they can afford to screw people over every once in a while. Their excuse, "Oh, ma'am, we're just so busy." two separate people had mentioned action plumbing when i had a potentially bad plumbing issue. everyone on the action plumbing team was super responsive, helpful, friendly, and communicative. denise answered immediately took my information and had charles return my call a few minutes later, then dispatched jason to visit our house within a couple of hours. jason quickly found the issue, and gave us a comprehensive plan that saved us time/money/risk. he had found a corroded part, for which if he attempted to work on it may cause a shutdown of our house water until they could get a replacement part, so he redirected the leak into the tub, and returned with the part the next day. in total it was 30 minutes for the inspection and prep, and 30 minutes for the repair the next day. their rates are reasonable professional hourly rates, plus parts, but the response times, friendly confidence, and expedited completion of the work, make this a strong recommendation from me. after service i was invoiced by mail and was able to pay by credit card over the phone. read more

Big mistake on my part by picking these guys out of the phonebook and not digging deeper. I live in a condo on the second floor, my shower drain was leaking into my neighbors ceiling. I had the plumber come out (nice guy) and he cut out the drywall, repaired the problem, then less then a year later (after already paying someone to repair the neighbors ceiling, since they don't do drywall repair and painting), SAME problem. Called Action to come out to inspect and a different plumber (nice enough guy) found that the whomever had done the repairs before had overtightened the pipe and it cracked. When he asked who did the repairs before (he was not aware his company was involved), I advised him that Action did it, he then said that it must be a defective part and laughed. I called after the plumbing repairs were completed and talked to the receptionist and advised her that even though the repairs were "re-work" and I shouldn't be billed, I still wanted some paperwork to show that it was completed. She said that the owner would need to talk to the second plumber to see what the issue was. Sure enough, I get a bill in the mail for the repairs (they were kind enough to give me a discount of 25% off the labor). Then there is still the issue of having to repair and repaint my neighbors ceiling again. I understand that accidents happen, but receiving the bill was a blatant slap in the face.
