My orthopedist recommended this place for my post ACL surgery therapy. They are busy most of the time, but their staff is always friendly and high-spirited regardless whether it's the beginning or the end of the day. Huy is my assigned physical therapist and I'm so grateful for his knowledge and dedications in what he does. I have a very low pain tolerance, yet Huy is extremelyyy patient and encouraging to motivate and guide me through all the exercises to make sure I'm reaching the necessary intensity and milestones for my recovery journey within a safe measure. They also have other assistants helping out during the exercises and all of them are very kind. Communication with employees and holding their employees responsible for detrimental behavior to a patients care. Lino should have been fired. They allowed an Assistant Physical Therapist (Lino) to work on me without supervision from a licensed physical therapist. I have since learned this behavior is against their licensing. The guy jerked my foot around and prevented my healing. I regret going there. That's not my only frustration. I made my feelings very known to Chris. And while I did not want to hurt their business, I felt that this kid needed to be let go from employment. I guess they didn't agree. I was super disappointed and have not returned. Chris was my DPT. I can't thank him enough to help me back to normal life. I came in with right shoulder arm pain with limited movement and numbness of fingers. If it weren't for my boss dislocating my finger (twice!) with his pathetically amateur basketball skills, I never would have had the opportunity and the privilege to meet Dr. Jim King. After Dr. Dice referred me to Dr. King, I was wondering what the minimum wager would be upon entering this casino. Instead, I was greeted with an atmosphere that resembled a Planet Fitness (minus the offering of free pizza) - a cable machine, an elliptical, and no heavy dumbbells. Upon witnessing Cindy amidst her rehabilitation activities, I began mentally contemplating whether she merely wanted to be able to complete routine, household functions or be able to competitively swing an axe. Every time I enter, I am always addressed by my Department of Defense title - Staff Sergeant. But if anyone here was going to be doing push-ups, it was going to be me. Dr. King's Super Trooper mustache and classic rock hair, along with a fine mix of classic rock playing, left me assured that my pinky was in safe hands. My pinky hasn't gone through this many repetitive movements since my first middle school date to the movie theater. My sense of urgency and my understanding of the importance of pinky rehabilitation was quickly realized when my friends began noticing how daintily I have been forced to drink manly beverages in my current condition. Without the help of Dr. King, I could have potentially been set up for a lifetime of ridicule. He is helping me restore my manhood. While my experience here could be enhanced with complimentary amino acids before my pinky workout, and a gift shop with items that would allow me to proudly promote Dr. King, I will still not hesitate to return to Action Therapy the next time my incompetent friends and coworkers inflict injury upon me. read more

I'm dealing with a bulging L4, and my doctor prescribed physical therapy. I've been going to Action Physical Therapy (Julianne and Chance have been my therapists) for 3 weeks, and am very pleased with their professionalism and work. During my first visit Julianne did a thorough evaluation, which included her looking over my MRI results. She took me through some basic core strengthening exercises, and printed them out so I could do them at home. The subsequent visits have been more intense, and have focused on stretching and core strength. They do a great job of making sure you are doing the exercises correctly, and the therapy has noticeably improved my pain and range of motion. IMO they are knowledgeable and determined to fix your ailment. Action's entire staff is friendly, and goes above and beyond. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. If you need OccupationalTherapy (OT): hands, arms and shoulders, or Physical Therapy (PT): the rest of your body, balance or walking therapy, Make your choice ACTION PHYSICAL THERAPY. I fell a couple of years ago and required a total reverse shoulder replacement of my dominant arm. I had absolutely zero use of the arm 6 weeks past surgery. My surgeon wanted me to see Jim King at APT. Best day ever! It's a slow recovery, but Jim's knowledge, expertise and years of experience, as well as continued pursuit of new and better rehab methods and techniques. Oh, I must add, he's a funny, gentle, serious, interesting guy. It took awhile to learn that he is a leader in hand therapy. Someone has to tell you that, because he doesn't tell anyone he's a serious rock star of a hand therapist. So, over time, I have an amazing amount of use or my arm. Having some extenuating issues, I won't be 100%. At 72, I'm grateful for Jim teaching me how to develop the muscles required to use my arm, and for massaging and stretching the muscles l, which is the other part of therapy! Good hands. But to the rest: Tiffany Nguyen is a terrific OT and, it goes without saying, very skilled and caring. The Physical Therapy (PT) side has many great therapists, all with outstanding skills and personalities. Action Physical Therapy's really not so well hidden asset, the carefully selected staff! Average age is likely less than 38. They work as a perfectly synchronized team, appearing to be a group of best friends who show up daily to do a job they love. In 2 1/2 years I have never seen or heard the slightest hint of dissent or annoyance from anyone. That's a real achievement! So, as you have read, I just can't imaging being anywhere else, with any other people to recover from a nasty accident and serious surgery! Or just a little help to work out the kinks! read more

I'm a big believer in the value of Yelp reviews. I actually chose to try these folks out because of the positive Yelp reviews. Yes - I actually went to see two physical therapists at different places (Memorial Hermann Ironman and APT). After a few weeks, I decided the better place for me was APT. Julianna C gets all the credit. I am recovering from a tibial plateau fracture (which I think is pretty serious). She actually laid hands on my leg and manipulated my knee cap which I think has made a lot of difference in my recovery. The other place just set me to exercises. Each and every visit, she works my leg, stretches me out and directs my exercises. She calls me out when I'm not doing them right. But encourages me as I'm making progress. She is fantastic and I'm grateful for her help. Kevin, one of the helpers there, is a super guy, too. Always "johnny on the spot" when Julianna directs him. Always encouraging. And let me say, when your recovery takes a long time, those words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. I had patellar dislocation on my left leg. After consultation with doctor, I was asked to go for a 6 week physical therapy. I did some research and took a consultation appointment with Mathew at Action PT. He was very patient and took time explain about the injury and the plan of action to fix it. He did make me work hard but not too hard that would strain my muscles. He assigned home exercises which I had to do in between my visits. Am seeing him for past 6 weeks & I can say am nearly 100% recovered. Staff is friendly and easy to get an appointment even if you call 2 days in advance. They always have a smile and a warm greeting. I worked with Caroline, who is amazing. She made me feel comfortable, yet she knew how to get the most out of me. I've never been a fan of physical therapy. The last time I went to physical therapy it caused me more pain than it did help me. I didn't see the point in it. Long story short, I ended up having a hip replacement, and my Doctor recommended Action PT. All I can say is I will forever be in debt to them. Caroline especially! She helped me walk again, she helped me get my life back, and pushed me to do more. She took the time to get to know me, so it wasn't boring every week, the whole staff did. Kim is such an amazing PT. She's seriously some kind of miracle worker. I had been having back and leg pains that were progressively getting worse for over a year. I had symptoms of piriformis syndrome and a hip impingement and SI joint problems. I'd seen my PCP, 2 different chiropractors, an orthopedic doctor, and also had sessions with AIRROSTI. They all seemed to treat symptoms for short term relief, but I still had major pain. Finally, after my x-rays all came out negative, my orthopedist referred me to PT. On the first visit, we did an evaluation to get down to the root of my problem. Already, Kim was exploring possible issues that none of the others had even considered. She took the time to really try to figure out what was wrong rather than just treating the symptoms. She started me on a regimen that I would do in the office then by myself at home. After just a few times, I was already feeling much better! Unlike previous visits to other offices, the pain hasn't come back. Kim is so knowledgeable and determined to fix your ailment. She goes above and beyond to get you back to 100%. On other occasions I interacted with some of the other PTs and techs, as well, and they were also very knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. Even the ladies at the front are cheerful and helpful. And they also send you text reminders for your visits. I definitely recommend Action PT. read more

I broke my finger (tuft fracture) earlier this year in March 2016. I was in a lot of pain with joint stiffness. I was seeing a hand therapist at another location before I came to Action Therapy and hadn't made any progress, especially not in regards to ROM. My doctor was livid. He told my that my window of opportunity was closing quickly and I had little to no hope. So I changed therapist and never looked back. Within a week (4 months after my injury) Jim King was able to get me at full rom, and helped me to gain strength back in my finger. He provided me "homework" that I worked on in between visits. Jim King was both knowledgeable and always positive. With the dedicated time he took with me each visit, and the help of his "Jimmersize" I was able to close my hand completely to make a fist in record time. My orthopedic doctor was shocked and amazed with my progress. There are days I often forget that I ever injured my finger in the first place. My wife fell and shattered her wrist. Dr. Lee scheduled her for immediate surgery with follow up PT. Action PT was able to fit her immediately-we appreciated their accommodating our urgent request. The staff at Action PT are all awesome from Michael and Brooke at the front desk to all the physical therapists and support staff in the back -- Jim, Julianna, Emily, Deque, Nick, Duy, Sarah, and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. I have been coming here for about 6 months now to help with the spondylolisthesis in my lower back, which started about 4 years ago and has made it very painful to walk even short distances. I am now able to go almost a mile before having to take a break, which allows me to keep going after a few minutes. I've been primarily working with Julianna, who is fantastic. She takes the time to find out how my back is doing, what's working, what's not, and helps me understand what the exercises are doing to help improve and hopefully correct my back issues. If she's not available, the other therapists are able to step in and work with me without any problem. My family recently took a trip to Walt Disney World, and I'm sure that all of the walking around would have been significantly more painful had I not been working with Julianna. Came here from out of town 1 month ago and was very concerned about getting the right level of treatment, bi-lateral wrist fractures from a motorcycle accident in AZ. I called several PT places in Houston and got mixed receptions to my inquiries. My 6th phone call was to Action, just pulled them up on a PT search in google. Jim King treated me for a strained shoulder. I had injured my right shoulder from wiping down the studs to my Harvey-flooded home, it got so bad that I couldn't lift my arm to eat. Everyone at the Memorial location is very friendly and helpful. Jesse and Kara man the front desk, and they are always cheerful and willing to work with your schedule. Jim Kim was my OT. He is very knowledgeable. After my thumb surgery I went to him 8 times, over a 4 weeks period. At the end of my 4 weeks session, my thumb had full ROM. It is still swollen, but that is normal for my surgery, and will be the case for a couple of months. This is certainly the place I would recommend to family and friends. read more

Jim King at Action PT is a big dang deal if you have a shoulder problem. His treatment was spot on and I cannot imagine having a better physical therapy experience. Besides being an expert on my shoulder treatment (and from what I hear he is good at hands and elbows too) he is fun, compassionate and listened to my preferences on some of the exercises. After a fall down some concrete steps in the middle of the summer, I shattered my wrist and had to have surgery, including a plate and a screw. As the offspring of an orthopedic surgeon and a physical therapist, I picked up with regular OT as soon as I could bear it, about a week-and-a-half after surgery. Jim King is a rock star. Literally, his life (and clinic) is filled with rock music, and he is an incredible therapist. I worked with him for 12 weeks, 2-3 times a week, and his mental and therapeutic support vastly impacted my healing process. At the beginning, it was hard to imagine my wrist ever working again properly. With Jim's cheerleading and keeping up with my exercise 'homework,' I experienced heartening success each week. In fact, I now have better range of motion in my injured left wrist than my right one! Jim also gave me guidance and grace as the insurance company processed my accident report. I went to Action PT after an arthroscopic knee surgery. I had a history of knee issues but really wanted to get back to an active lifestyle. Action PT was great in accommodating me even though that my doctor was in another state. I worked with Matt, who is an energetic young physical therapist with experience in playing sports at the college level. He really took the time to listen to what I wanted to get out of PT and tailored the rehabilitation program to fit my goals. The program included strengthening, balance, jump training and running.
