Randy came and shut off the water and called to order a new Gas hot water heater with power vent. He ordered a commercial grade water heater which is made better and will last longer. I appreciated that. He & Bobby were at our home the following morning before 8:00am to install the new gas hot water heater. I had been told by another plumbing & heating company that I would need to have a new sewer line installed outside due to the terra cotta pipes slipping and trapping the toilet paper & waste. I had asked that company twice to give me an estimate but they never did. Randy used his camera to look and he showed me that I could wait a year. We also had 2 water pipes in our front yard that stuck out of the ground with grass all around them. Our house is very old and use to be a duplex which is why there are 2 water pipes. We could not mow over them. I asked Randy if the pipes could be lowered. He checked them then called the Williamsport Water Authority and told them of our situation. The following day 2 fellas from the Water Authority came and lowered the pipes and replaced one broken cap. We had also been told that we needed to have a new chimney installed. Since Randy is a Master Plumber he said that we did not need a new chimney because our furnace and gas hot water heater both have a power source that vents outside which is sufficient. He came in for under an hour, said the system was working perfectly fine, but we should turn on the auxiliary heat full time. Charged us for two hours of labor. We paid, but my husband called him after work to explain he disagreed with his opinion. Again, told us that the system was working perfectly fine. When comparing our December and January bills with last year's, we used DOUBLE the amount of electricity. We called JNK, hoping he'd make things right. This time, he came and said we just needed a new thermostat and that's what caused such an increase in usage. The auxiliary heat was running constantly. We explained that we knew something was wrong in November and asked if he would work with us on this bill, but he said no. We will never have this company back to our home. All in all, we lost over $1500 for a $173 thermostat.

She was in her 70's. We used them 2 times in the past 2 years and both times overcharged in labor. We even timed the technician, but the woman in the office/ billing department will argue with you anyway. They will charge you $125 for the 1st hour, even though the tech was only there 15 minutes. Never having parts on them, they leave. When they return they start charging additional labor costs. Even though they owe you 45 minutes of the previous visit. Then add more time to labor than they are there. You're being charged also if the tech is sitting in his vehicle outside of your house. Work is sloppy as well. Extremely disappointed and will not use again!

They returned to fill it but it looks horrible and a smear of spray foam was left on my siding. But the worst is that a pipe was installed through a kitchen drawer so now it wont open! Begrudging came to see what was wrong after 2 calls and realized his staff did not install/connect the main vent from the attic and it was releasing all of the cold air into the attic. OOPS! Similar issue with same unit again this year. Have called 4 times over past 3 weeks with no return call. So disappointed. Was still planning to have company install heating/AC/dehumidifier for attic space we are remodeling this Fall. Obviously we are reaching out to other HVAC providers. (Any suggestions???) Could not recommend a company less than Hilltech. Dave is not a good guy. Called Better Business Bureau. Yikes. Don't do it.
