Dr. Akins basically told me what I was experiencing was normal for mothers, and I needed to sleep and relax more. She prescribed a heavy duty anti depressant to use as a sleep aid and sent me on my way. Well, that didn't fix my issues. It turns out I have multiple autoimmune diseases, and got progressively sicker over the years, and didn't even start getting any real relief until 2022, when I started finally getting the proper diagnosis. Dr Akins upholds the antiquated 'hysterical women' mindset, despite being a woman herself. She will railroad and dismiss you, and I wouldn't suggest anybody use this absolutely terrible doctor, and quite frankly, terrible human being. If she had actually done her job, I probably could have avoided years of extreme suffering. I think about this frequently, as what could have been a turning point in my health, if Dr Akins actually cared about listening to patients.

I asked them twice before and after the visit if I have to pay anything they said no. then I got hit with that bill, they said I havent met the deductible. well why didnt you tell me that it will cost that much and it will go through insurance first. they also asked me to re-do blood works all over again because my tests were "irregular" and I believe i have to pay for it again. The front desk is always the "protection" for taking advantage of the doctor's time but learning how to communicate your needs goes a long way for them helping to schedule you for your needs. I was not able to see Dr. Moon III but I was able to see one of his collegues and he was very knowledgeable, however he hesitated when I asked for some Clobetasol Propioinate, one of the most potent itch relievers avaliable. He treated me the best he could, and when I went to the pharmacy I saw that Dr. Moon had prescribed a tube of Clobetasol with one refill. This is truly a doctor who wants to keep his patients as comfortable as possible, its hard to find a doctor who cares so much, I am so lucky to have Dr. Moon III as my PCP.

My insurance should have covered everything, but they charge an out of pocket $150 admin fee. After finally setting an appointment, I show up at the office 10 minutes early to the address on their email footer, 1524 Independence Parkway, Suite A-1, as shown in the photo. Nobody is there. Finally, I call in after 15 minutes, and Shauna directs me to a new office location right across the parking lot. However, she says that it's too late in the day and that they'll have to reschedule my appointment. Very upsetting considering that it's impossible to get an appointment set at a reasonable time.
