I called this morning and John was able to come out promptly at 11 o'clock! He took my dryer apart, (I was afraid that it was probably DOA), but he confirmed it for me. Gave me options to get it replaced and charged me an absolutely reasonable service call for his time. These guys are really quality, I used them years ago and I wouldn't use anyone else! read more

Absolutely recommend. We moved into a new house and the water/ice dispenser was leaking, called Action Appliance Service and they had someone there within 2hrs. John Callahan came out and troubleshot and fixed the problem in a little under an hour and the price was reasonable too! read more

We'd give a rating of 10 stars if we could. John came out to service our dryer that would not start. It was a fairly easy fix with a replacement switch but that was not our only problem. He went above and beyond what an appliance service man would normally do to rectify an unknown and not visible problem with the vent that had been going on for sometime. Have an old washer and dryer (20+ years old!) but not ready to throw in the towel for a new set yet. Needed a few things looked at and these guys were great. Came out same day we called for one issue. Very reasonably priced, needed a part and went to go get one and returned quickly. Highly recommend! read more

Our plumber installed our new dishwasher and upon testing it discovered a major leak!!!! He referred us to Action Appliance service. He said these guys are really good. He was so right. Our repair man showed up on time. He knew what he was doing and diagnosed the cause of the leak. He fixed it in no time. He as very polite and had many years of experience in the repair business. We had many questions about other appliances involved in our kitchen remodel. We received quite an education. He patiently explained how things worked. We were kind of shocked when received a very small bill for the time spent with us. This company is now "our go to guy for repair". Thanks John for a job very well done. read more

Our Maytag dryer quit working, so we called John based on Yelp ratings. He was out within two business days, quickly fixed the problem and felt that he charged us fairly to repair the switch that went bad. I would certainly call John again and would highly recommend him. read more

We have used Action Appliance Service for over 30 years now. Tom has "resurrected " several of our appliances over the years; when we were sure they were headed for the recycling center. We have always found him to be timely, professional with quality service at a fair price. He and his team are the only repairmen I would consider calling when we need it !! read more

I have used Action Appliance repair service since buying a house in Grant Pass in 2009. The appliances that came with the house are all older models, and I have many times called Action to come out. Each time, they have fixed it, so I have not needed to purchase a new model. The price to repair was much lower than buying a new appliance. I am thankful for the repair, since the older appliances are better quality than the new models, as a rule. Maintenance tips given out during the visit are great, and make a big difference on keeping machines running well. Theirs is the only number I keep to call for appliance repair. read more

Action Appliance repairman came over to diagnose an error code on my Whirlpool front loader washing machine that is only2 years old. He said we need a new tub, $847, rotor, $220, and "astion(sp?) for $279! That is the same price if not more for a new machine! That was 2 weeks ago. We have used our machine for 2 weeks, doing laundry about every other day. No error codes. I sense a "conspiracy " of sorts. My confidence in appliance repair is zero. read more

Two stars for a right diagnosis of washer . Attitude of repairperson, poor and unprofessional. He was not so much rude as childlike . He went into a long diatribe on how it would cost most people $100.00 for his $39.00 fee. So my thought was then why don't you change your fee and not take out your angst on me for you charging less than you think your time is worth. He proceeded to tell me he could make a giant list of what it would cost me for a diagnosis. His attitude was adolescent and his attempts to speak to me as if I too was one would have been quite insulting if I did not have a good sense of myself and a clear perspective on my own self esteem. At one point he told me he only recommends Action Appliance, ( note the same name of the repair/reused washers) and if I chose to buy new I should not call him if I had trouble with my new washer and he reiterated that several times and topped it off with, " And I will tell you I told you so"! Wow, who says that? I had to hold back laughter at his adolescent tirade. Does he just do this to women or is it just the frustration of a job or business that is unfulfilling? Perhaps it was the heat, it was a very hot one here in Grants Pass so maybe , and I am always willing to offer the benefit of a doubt as to someone else having a bad day but really, If I behaved this way as a chef in my business, my stove would be empty along with my bank account. Let me footnote this with his angst was due to me having missing screws, not emotionally, but on the washer as I attempted a YouTube repair and I wont make that mistake again, but in my defense I did tell his wife , who answers his repair phone that the washer was missing screws in the back , he muttered something about she did not leave him a note on that and grumbled on about how he should charge the few people like me for those attempts an extra $100.00. He really actually said that. What a PR person huh? That is when I actually giggled out loud at him. So , in the end , I paid $39.00 for what I really already knew and could have skipped this altogether but alas, here we are with me giving an honest review and his business needing an overhaul on how to talk to customers, especially woman who actually have a brain that thinks, reasons and works to capacity. Ok then do as you will. He does know his old appliances. One last note, he told me not to buy a new anything as it would only last two years before he would have to come to the rescue and fix it. Hmmmmm, I guess all the major appliance makers are making shoddy stuff now?? Funny I have not read about mass recalls or a whisper on consumer reports. But who am I ? Not a used appliance repair person but a chef and researcher. Oh did I mention I am a consumer research consultant? You decide what you want to do or whom you should call. I read similar yelp reviews and ignored them . I wont make that mistake again. read more

Action Appliance will be my "go to" appliance repair place from now on. Service was very prompt and efficient and the price ($39) very reasonable. My 17 year old Maytag dishwasher was making loud noises -- John from Action determined that the motor was shot. He referred me to Appliance and Mower Center on M St for a new machine and explained that Whirlpool now makes Maytag. So I checked them out and found better pricing there than at Sears or Home Depot (our preference is for buying local, anyway). We saved $50, which more than covered the service charge for the original diagnosis. So he definitely steered me in the right direction. I highly recommend Action Appliance! read more
