    Acres double cheeseburger
    Dustin C.

Food- we had two of the Acres Double Cheeseburgers and they were cooked perfectly, juicy and seemed like homemade pickles. If looking for a burger that simply melts in your mouth, this is it! Delicious!!! The breaded tenderloin was good too. Maybe a little overcooked on the perimeter of the tenderloin, but the inside was fantastic. The potatoes that we ordered with the sandwiches were cooked perfectly and the right size! They were out of pork/bbq and barbacoa, so that somewhat limited our choices. They were also out of cheese curds and Brussel Sprouts. So, not sure if they run out quickly or due to being the weekend, they were out. The restaurant was quaint and very clean, and the service was fantastic. Will definitely come back in the area.

Smoked barbacoa sandwich and a side of their amazing brussels sprouts

Stopped in with my family for a late lunch and was blown away by how great this place was. Not only was the staff lovely but the food was out of this world. They had a diverse menu of sandwiches, salads, side and specials!! I had the smoked barbacoa sandwich and tried the Brussels sprouts off the specials (wow some of the best I've had). Clearly there's is talent coming out of the kitchen and the same goes for the lovely barista at the front. Make sure to try a cookie and coffee on your way out you won't regret it!

Great spot when driving south from Chicago to have a nice lunch. It doesn't have a ton of seating but the staff is fast to clean them up once a free spot opens up.

I'm so glad I checked the reviews for places in Pontiac while my family and I were staying for a night. This place was such a gem. I got the Korean bbq chicken sandwich which was crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. It definitely has a good kick of spice with that sauce. I never order chicken sandwiches because I prefer the texture of burgers but this was absolutely perfect. We also ordered the crispy potatoes which were some of the best cooked potatoes I've ever had. My parents loved their sandwich and smash burger. They also had a great selection of milks, drinks, frozen meats, and different little food and home products to buy.

Burgers and Chicken Sandwiches were excellent, came out fast. It's a little small but they get through people quickly and worth a wait.

Kemp's is probably the best place to go eat in town it seems. A good reason is because there's not much else. The food is pretty average but there's some good things for adults and families. Chill atmosphere even at times when it's crowded. It's located in the middle of downtown or whatever you call it. There's not a whole lot else to go to for a meal. Certainly explains why it gets busy. People only have a few choices and this is one of these. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail. Whole lot of great stuff including whiskey. It's about $5 to get appetizers. We got the Chips And Salsa. Has a lot of greasy fried things like wings and other meats. The menu is pretty standard as far as fried stuff. Has a lot of the basics. It's closed Sundays. That's pretty strange for them to lose out on all that revenue on weekends.

The staff here was fabulous with a special shout-out to John. What I found particularly impressive was the amazing selection of craft brews for a small town. The staff was particularly knowledgeable about both the selection and even the breweries that supplied them! I even found some of my favorite and uncommon Chicagoland brews, although I selected some excellent brews from the Bloomington/Normal area. ( Drink local!) Food was wonderful and quickly delivered. I gave five stars on food because it is top quality relative to pubs in general. The Blue Cheese burger was great. I sampled the butterflied pork chop sandwich of the other meal we had and that was a standout! Ambiance is nice as if fitting a local pub in an older downtown building. One notable feature is the walls and ceiling are covered in banners and flags of various kinds which dramatically limits the amount of background noise that would normally be in such a building. There is also a nice outdoor beer garden. This local establishment is well worth the extra minutes off Interstate 55. Also highly recommended to cycling who travel out to the northeast terminus of the trail!

Emancipation is a brewery not a lot of people have heard of because it's not close to anything of course. Has a surprising amount of variety on tap and in cans to go. They may not have a whole lot but everything is full of flavor and quenches one's thirst. Even with it being a smaller brewery it still has quite a lot. It's got several of their own beers on tap along with a few others. There's also more cans in a refrigerator. Has the basics along with a few interesting ones. More than just the IPAs and the usual. It's about $7 a pint. The Farmer's Favorite is the IPA and is a pretty good medium one that's crisp and smooth. Has a few things to snack on here. It's about $3 for the Krack Mix. Basically like Chex Mix but it's made locally. They also will let you bring in stuff. Great place that's pretty hard to find the first time going here. It's located on N. 2500 East Rd. a few miles north of Fairbury surrounded by corn fields pretty much. They're closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Brown Jug is where the locals get their drinking and eating on as well as watching games. Maybe it looks pretty ramshackle from the outside, but be assured it's also like that on the inside. The menu is mostly booze, but there's also burgers and various fried stuff. Basically it's one of the places in this town to gather. It's actually a lot nicer than many other places around here. That's not saying a lot. Of course it's possible to get some okay things to drink and eat. Pretty okay prices as far as things on the menu. It's got a lot of drink specials, and one was $3 for vodka so that was cool. Lots of fried and greasy food on the menu. It's about $6 for the Pretzel Bites. These might be the healthiest things to get here. Of course there's also burgers. There's also wings and meaty fried items. Even if it's nothing fancy it's a good place as far as around here. I heard some good things about the pizza they serve so I figured I would give it a shot for myself. I placed a carry out order over the phone and was told it would be 20 minutes. The place wasn't that busy when I arrived, and it looked just like I remembered. There were two employees working and I spoke with both. They were both very friendly and my pizza was ready as promised. The crust was about par for the course around here. Not much taste outside of flour. The sauce was decent, and the toppings were plentiful. The cheese is the type mozzarella that turns a bit rubbery, but I must admit, I like that. All in all, I enjoyed the pizza, and the service was friendly. Was it my favorite pizza in Pontiac? No. But, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
