After visiting the Philadelphia Home Show we had appointments with multiple vendors to come to our home and price out window replacements. Michael was the first vendor rep to come to our home. He showed up exactly on time, on a Sunday afternoon, and spent several hours with us reviewing the various product lines and answering our many (many) questions. At the end he gave us a quote, which took our breath away - we knew that Anderson windows would be expensive, just not that expensive. He told us his offer would be lower than the quote we would be getting the next day from Renewal by Andersen. At the time I didn't really believe him, but he was right - it was 1/3 lower! In the end we decided to go with a less expensive brand since we won't be in the home long enough to recoup the costs, but I have to say that Michael was among the very best representatives that we had come into our home. Under any circumstance DO NOT use this company!!!! Absolutely deserves ZERO stars!!! We did our install with them August 2020 and it has been a nightmare ever since. We had issues with them right off the bat since install and to date, the issues are not resolved. This is the most unprofessional company I've ever worked with in my life. They take your money and then do not want to resolve any issues. The amount of time and energy I've spent calling and emailing, the amount of times that they have given me a runaround and transferred me to all different people is INSANE. The employees are CLUELESS. I am disgusted!!!! Their work is incredibly sloppy, they'll install damaged windows and will install with missing pieces. I was overcharged and received a product that was different than discussed. I have Anderson windows throughout my home and replaced a sliding door. The door I received was not the same color on the outside as all of my windows. All I am being told by the sales manager John is that's what you ordered. I was not shown any color I just asked to match my existing windows and door. The only compliment I can give the company is to the installers. They were thorough and neat. My recommendation is to go elsewhere. read more

STAY AWAY - had to take this company to court for multiple reasons. Won the case and it has been roughly 8 months since and they have not responded to 1 letter I've sent - or paid me the money I won for them lying and trying to install windows that went against my HOA specks. Had I not found out, I would have illegal windows. They will smile and tell you whatever it takes to get a signed contract, they will lie to your face and once you sign they will ghost you for months THEN try to install windows that were denied by your condo association and play dumb tile they didn't know. Thank God the HOA had the emails to prove they denied the job because the judge saw that and ruled in my favor. Now I have to jump through hoops for almost a year to get them to pay me my deposit and now court and lawyer fees. Unethical company and an unethical manager & owner. I will continue to fight for my money back and them staying quiet is not going to make me go away! Maybe if the guys didn't show up drunk ,throwing up in the dumpster and the street ,using behind my brand new shed as a full bathroom for 1 and 2 wouldn't have noticed other than the toilet paper and beer bottles . Ok now the install the door doesn't leak unless it's raining , $3000 dollars for a worker to cut the wall with a 6 in grinder then removed the loose brick with a sledge hammer and hammer drill . The header sat on top of the $5000 dollar lowered series not by choose but deseption.We ordered a better quality door and it was repackaged so it looked like is was used. The front window from top to bottom had 8 inches total of foam absolutely no sil replacement on every window like promised .they only brought 2 2x4s,no headers 6 in screws that went only 3/4 of a in into the framing of the window . 6 out of the 8 installs leak like a river and they blamed it on the rain and I asked them isn't that why we just spent 3500$ dollars on windows and he said on recording that the don't always stop rain. 6 months later I appreciate how well they took care of a disabled first responder and phila er nurse. We found out that we were charged 3 times what the windows cost and they are only a private contractor not connected truly with Renewal by anderson which quoted us 10 k cheaper for that actual better quality windows which we ordered and tried to hide the stickers with different models with caulk smears read more

Sales rep named Mike came to our house to give us a quote on window replacement. We are renovating our bathroom and need a special size and configuration which he seemed to understand. Because the company requested that both spouses be present we knew we were in for a ninety minute high pressure sales pitch. This young man was a good salesperson with a memorized speech about how his product is superior to other manufacturers, etc. etc. including showing us a sample of their product. He got out his computer and quoted us a price of $9500. I was figuring about $10,000 so that was in line. Then it began. What's your budget, he asked and we replied we don't have a set budget, if we want it we'll buy it. Then he asked about the date for our renovation and we told him our GC had not given us a firm date yet. His attitude changed and he called his boss. ( This is where the boss allows him to drop the price. ) He took off $1,000 if we ordered withing a month. Then his boss " allowed " him to take off another $2000 if we signed right then. We had a few words and I told him we don't respond to pressure tactics and his was the first price we had gotten. He then kept telling us how much he would hate to see us spend $3000 more than we had to. We kept telling him no. He then got pissy and left without giving us his card or emailing us a proposal as he said he would. When he realized he wasn't getting the sale his whole demeanor changed. Very poor salesmanship. Dangling $3000 in front of us and trying to make us feel foolish for not jumping at is something that might work with people who know better but not with us. Its strange. When they come to your house, its a product specialist, a sales staff. He almost immediately asked for the wifi password. I realize he may not have had service, but it still felt strange. We discussed options at length. They give a price, and then almost immediately lowered the price as a special promotion that I had to accept in that moment. Its a weird way to sell. Why not just mention the promotion price first? It felt tricky. Once you sign, you'll probably never see the product specialist again. This was frustrating because the installers themselves expressed surprise at what the specialist had assured us of. They appeared accustomed to this, but still frustrated. He had said the door frame would be solid and reinforced. Initially it was just thin, malleable aluminum. I had to ask them to pack it with wood so it would not dent and bend with everyday use. The back door was installed and they sort of winged it at one part. You could see that they just tried to caulk in some areas that perhaps needed some extra material in there. It had weird protruding parts. I asked them to correct it and had to let them know a few times that it felt like a problem that needed to be addressed before they left. They came back in and did the best they could. The door ended up a bit smaller than the front door. Unfortunately that meant if we wanted to add a screen door we would need one to be custom made. Its too bad because the product specialist described that we would be able to simply purchase two of the same sized doors. They called the product specialist an idiot, which was surprising. If you choose to hire this company make sure the specifications and measurements you want are clearly written in the contract, rather than contextual understanding. I ended up with a door that was too small and they were not even able to order through Anderson to get me the best price. They deferred to Home Depot. That felt weird. Anderson is allover the website and they didn't even have a contact at Anderson except Home Depot. That was surprising. They almost always have someone to speak with on the phone. The staff is knowledgeable but may not have the tools necessary to respond to customer concerns. After the install they stand over you while they ask you to review and rate the services before really getting a chance to review everything. Looking back, I should've gotten the contract written with more specifics and measurements rather than the sort out of vague template. I feel let down by Acre Windows and Doors. They came out to measure and confirm the size difference but could not offer anything other than an apology. I felt bad for their customer service staff because they were sincere and amicable but didn't appear to have any options for redress. I won't hire again. I appreciated the empathetic apologies but its too bad it ended there. read more

Liars and thieves. They promise you the world and once they get you to sign on the dotted line become the most non-responsive company I have ever dealt with. Don't trust the salesman who comes into your house and shows you reviews and has them presorted on their computer. Missed numerous appointments without even calling, won't return a phone call and talk in circles with their emails. Please read the reviews and make sure to sort lowest to highest. The highest ratings have to be either paid or family and friends. Search the BBB and do your research with this awful company. read more

Firstly, do not sign any contract with Acre until the salesman leaves your home. The initial price of $3500 we said no too. Greg Lovern took a $1000 off with in 5 mins. Greg Lovern the salesman told us worst case we would wait 10 weeks for installation, and we waited 18. Greg Lovern told us we can pay by credit card, then days before they told us that was no longer acceptable. John the manager we griped about this too was unprofessional and unhelpful. Emily stalled and essentially lied to us about our installation date for months. The installation was done in an hour and a half and sloppy. They jammed a few tubes of caulk around the entire door way and asked for a check. Our neighbor asked for Acre's information to have a new door installed for her. We told her not to use them, and we urge you the same. We overpaid and over waited for a poorly installed door. They offered us an extension on the installation warranty, by 1 year if we gave them 5 stars. What honest business would proposition a customer this way? What professional installer needs a warranty on the work they are paid to do? Steer clear, all we have said our facts, and we work too hard for money to waist it on con man and shoddy workmanship. read more

Really wish there was ZERO rating. The rep who set up the appt explained they require my spouse to be there. Explained to the rep my wife would not be here as we are still gathering estimates and would not sign any agreement at the estimate appt so I knew this would be a hard pressure sell. She scheduled the appt and I requested the name of the salesperson and she stated I do not have the info which was odd. So unnamed sales person knocked on my door 10 minutes earlier which was great and I showed him into our home. This person had a very high, loud and rude voice so OK anyone can work around that. Right? WRONG NOT WITH THIS PERSON. He proceed to walk to the kitchen and place his materials on the kitchen table without asking my permission. I had my scheduled work set out on the table so one should ask is this ok I place my info here or is there another convenient place. I showed him the entry door and his first response was this will cost you 11K without asking what material or design. In sales you NEVER lead off with price-NEVER. I am now irked but hey let's see what can be done so he points out my Pella storm door is TRASH and theirs is a far better product. I said hey it's 15 years old and worn but he proceeds to again TRASH the Pella brand. Again poor sales. I told him hey we are looking at a few contractors including Lowe's and Home Depot and again he TRASHES them saying they would sell me a fiberglass HOLLOW CORE DOOR!! I tell him no the fiberglass doors are SOLID and painted the same color of our choice throughout the door so please don't try to BS me anymore and it's time for him to leave. He started to again raise his voice and I requested he leave my property and his response was oh so your property? I said correct this is my home and I want you out of my home. He then asks me oh so your home? It's apparent he either has a bad day or is upset because I had no intention of signing any sales agreement. I told him this is no way to treat a potential client as I am in sales and he then has nerve to tell me well you must not be successful as it's evident you can't afford a 11K door! I then proceed to raise my voice and demanded he remove himself from my property. I immediately called Acre and spoke to Alex who told me the owner was out, was sorry for the way I was treated, should not have been treated this way and would have the owner or regional sales director call me back. Well 4 DAYS LATER and no response go figure. So be wary of needing both homeowners present as this will be a high pressure sales appt as evident in some other unhappy posts on here. read more

Absolute crooks. Nonexistent customer service. Tried to take our deposit without installing windows.

At first, they were very accommodating with changing my appointment to a different day. However, I was very disappointed with the service and how they handled themselves when it came to the day. I had called them to tell them my wife was running late and would be at my house in a few minutes. But the woman was pressing me on when I would be home. I told her I would be home shortly as my wife is fully capable of letting the gentleman in and having him measure the windows. The salesman left when my wife got home because I wasn't there. I felt that was disrespectful to my wife. They turned around and measured my windows but showed ZERO respect for my wife by going through the house quickly and leaving without providing a quote. Luckily, I got home in time to see him leave, but he turned his car around when he saw I was home. My wife said he was much more enthusiastic with me than with her. He eventually gave me a quote, which was very pricey ($7K more) relative to other contractors. Lastly, when I told him we needed time to think about it as we are going to look at all the contractors we spoke to. He got up and left with his head down and no goodbye. That, to me, is a bad sign and bad for business--no customer service etiquette. read more

Needed new windows for my upstairs bedrooms. Didn't want to spend a fortune but didn't want to go cheap either. Made an appointment and the sales guy who showed up was on time and very helpful. I don't know anything about windows and his presentation helped answer a lot of my questions. I did do some research prior to the appointment, so I wasn't super surprised at the price but I have to say the quality matched the price so I thought it was worth it. Installation was easy to schedule and the office was easy to work with. None of my questions went unanswered and overall they made me feel very comfortable with my investment. I'd definitely use this company again. Request Michael if you can, he won't waste your time. read more

A representative was at my home last night. I was sick in bed. My husband told the rep, joe wade. And he told him both must be present. Anyway, my husband asked for a quote for 3 standard sized windows. He showed my husband his computer screen and gave us a quote of $4,000 for 3 windows. Whaaat! This is not about installation or workmanship that was fine. However, they need help with scheduling and communication. Had a garden window installed and during a rainstorm (not all rain storms . Im thinking volume or direction) water came in across the top like Niagra Falls. Things happen you can't tell during install. Called, made it clear water was coming in my house and was scheduled 5 days out. OK is what it is. The day arrives, I take off early and nobody shows. When I called I was told there was a mix up in scheduling and communication. (i.e. nobody called me and I lost 150.00 because I do not get paid if I am not at work.) So now Im scheduled another 5 days out. Hoping I have enough towels in case it rains that direction again. Same thing happened during installation. We have an older house that was well kept but we needed to address the windows as they were 50+ years old. I was at flea market where a table for Acre Windows and Doors was set up. I struck up a conversation with the Acre employee working the table and decided to have a no obligation in home estimate done. The sales rep Don Lubben showed up on time, was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. He sat and listened to what we needed and where are budget was. My wife and I really had no intention of purchasing windows that night but all of our concerns were addressed and we were made to feel safe with any decision we made. Who has a 20 year warranty on their product? Andersen! What company has their own in house installers do the work? ACRE Windows and Doors! Who can't wait to see our new windows installed by ACRE? I had 3 exterior doors replaced on my townhouse as the previous doors were off the rack from a home improvement store and not installed well (resulting a growing gap in the back door between the frame and a frame that was falling apart). We had an in-home consultation for the design of the doors and the frames were measured towards the end of November. Our order was made and we were told it would take about 2 months as the ThermaTru doors would need to be manufactured and the installation team would need to be available. In the mean time, someone came to remeasure and confirm the door sizing. Installation day was mid-January on the coldest day ever (around 9 degrees - around 0 with wind chill) and the Acre team showed up on time and in force - they installed all 3 doors in about 6 hours, including replacing the frames and making repairs in the wall as needed. End result is I love my doors! The doors are installed in the frame and I can feel the difference - they feel more sturdy when opening and closing them. Most importantly - there is no more draft from my doors!!! Why did I wait so long to do this! The whole back of the house, where the door with the gap was, is SOOO much warmer and our heat has not been kicking on as frequently. Very happy with my purchase and the service provided. read more
