This company screwed us over. In March of 2024 we received tax assessments, including accrued…read moreinterest due, from the Florida Department of Revenue for Documentary Stamp Taxes that should have been paid during a refinancing transaction on our home in 2021 handled by Omega. I spoke with multiple real estate attorneys who said that the state was correct and that the payments should have been made... their advice was that what we needed to be responsible for the payment of the taxes but that the title company should be responsible for the interest accrued since it was their error. We actually had this happen twice with two different title companies... one company agreed that they made an egregious error, they apologized and cut us a check for the interest immediately... upstanding people! This company, Omega National Title Agency LLC, has fought with us saying they are not responsible and that nothing was done incorrectly. We ended up selling that home and we needed to clean up the tax bill for our closing, so we laid out the $1625 in interest that Omega should have covered. After repeated contact with Omega right up to the President of the company, Mike Stiber, the company has gone completely silent and are not responding to any of our calls or emails. They just want us to go away but they are absolutely responsible and will not act as a stand-up company and pay for their error. FYI, title companies carry errors and omissions insurance for these kinds of situations, and the $ we are talking about is not going to hurt them. We just think it's terrible that a company in their position where they handle most people's top asset, their home, can be so irresponsible with no response or repercussion. We will be sharing the story of Omega National Title's ugly behavior with as many people as possible until they remedy the situation.

Apparently the support staff is the main focus. With that being said, consider yourself forewarned of their un-ethical practices. It saddens me when a person's first time home buyers experience is overshadowed by a greedy real estate agent. The truth of the matter is this - Veterans are not appreciated enough for their service. Even more so when it comes to purchasing a home. If you or someone you care about is thinking of purchasing a home in the Orlando area I highly discourage you from this brokerage. They did not honor their fiduciary responsibility to the client, showed zero respect for the listing agent and basically tarnished a veterans home buying experience with their lack of moral conduct. Disclosing your client's personal information without consent, choosing to submit a verbal offer via text message because they didn't get along with the listing agent, and even fabricating their professional experience may be the norm for some..but it doesn't make it right. Nor does it encourage repeat business. The agent may want to consider spending less time fluffing up her social media and the broker should definitely consider a revision of their ethics training. Also, if anyone knows of compassionate and competent listing agent in the Orlando area please feel free to respond with their contact info.
