A few friends of ours have been going to classes for a few years and seem to really feel it benefits them. The studio and actors put on a show every year that the past 2 years has been called Play de Luna - a series of one act comedic plays. At a low cost you can go to see some quick one act plays with some developing actors. Some are awesome and some are good, none are bad. The actors and directors work so hard at their craft and it shows. The studio itself is a small space. It's got a few rows of seats for an audience and some bathrooms with a small front lobby where they sell drinks during the shows. Overall, if you're looking for something to do in Oct or Nov - check out their show. It's a great fun weekend thing to do (and only suitable for adults). I can say that based on friend's testimonials it seems to be a great place for acting classes too but I cannot say that from my own experience aside from witnessing them get several jobs over the last year or so since they started taking the classes.

As someone who has test anxiety, I was always asking my teacher, Valleri, questions every single chance I got and she was remarkable at answering them in a way I would understand no matter how many times I asked! The teachers make themselves available literally 24/7..at the start of every class they hand out their personal number for you to text/call if you have any questions or concerns regarding the material. I even had my teacher tutor me privately before the state exam to ensure I knew the proper material and I PASSED the first try! I don't think I could have been so prepared or done so well if it weren't for the specific teachers teaching this course! IFREC is a wonderful school, Valleri was a great teacher and the students learning always left feeling very confident. This is a TON of material to learn in 7 days, but they make it as smooth as possible and don't force you to learn things that aren't important. I loved the references my teacher would make of relating material we were learning to real life..it made memorizing SO much easier. The flexibility of the teachers was a HUGE help to someone like me. When I called the office to schedule my prep class, the receptionist was prompt and ensured I had all the materials necessary before class. I'm not sure how people have bad reviews of IFREC, honestly if you didn't do well on the test, you can't blame the school or teacher if there are loads of students coming out with passing both exams. The negative reviews on here are most definitely students who did not apply themselves outside of the classroom. The teachers made it nearly impossible to fail. I helped out with the fishing game and a few of the activities, and I was honestly impressed by how much was going on. There was apple bobbing, a full petting zoo, fresh popcorn popping, and even a cozy indoor space where kids were playing and trading Pokémon cards. I ended up picking up a couple rare ones from a student vendor--which was a cool and unexpected bonus. One of the best parts was seeing how involved the kids were. They weren't just attending--they were running booths, selling handmade crochet crafts, and clearly proud of what they'd created. The whole event had this really genuine, creative vibe. The festival felt like a blend of old-school charm and community spirit, with a lot of thought behind every detail. Families were relaxed, kids were engaged, and everything just flowed really well. The instructors were a great mix of professional but humorous while all being EXTREMELY knowledgeable. They are all passionate about the tech industry and it shows. The instructors and staff always followed up when they saw me in the halls to make sure I passed my exams. They seem to take it personally and try to do everything possible to make sure you succeed. Their equipment for labs is top notch and Ive never had an issue with doing my labs. I question the material at times as it doesn't seem consistent with the actual vendor's test. However, maybe that isn't New Horizon's fault? Im not a fan of this location, the area is a little rough and run down, but its close to many great places for lunch. My employer pays for the classes, so i don't mind using New Horizons, but if it came from my own pocket, I'd probably go with someone else.
