Menu in November 2023
Tiffany Y.

Acquario restaurant is located inside the Lago Mar Beach Resort and Club. The hotel's website says that Acquario is open only to members and guests of the resort. In November 2023, the menu listed appetizers such as calamari and crab cakes, a few salads, and several entrees such as mahi mahi, swordfish, veal parmesan, and filet mignon. Please see my attached photos for the full menu. In the past few years, I have eaten a few meals at Acquario. For my most recent visit, my husband and I did not need a reservation, and we wore shorts and t-shirts. The host and the waiter smiled, made friendly conversation, and promptly served us. Here are my reviews for our foods: Florida-style ahi poke - $16 - 4 stars - This appetizer contained ahi tuna, avocado, scallions, and sauce. On the side was plantain chips. My husband said that he liked how the plantain chips added some crunch to the ahi tuna. Shrimp cocktail - $16 - 4.5 stars - These shrimp were a very jumbo size, were very fresh, and were served with a cocktail sauce. On the side was a coleslaw that my husband said was one of the best coleslaws that he has ever eaten. Port-wine braised short rib - $30 - 4 stars - This 10-ounce short rib was topped with a flavorful port-wine demi-glace sauce. On the side was mashed potatoes that my husband said were delicious. Shrimp scampi - $32 - 4.5 stars - The linguini noodles were cooked well, and they were mixed with several large and fresh shrimps as well as white wine, lemon, and garlic. My husband and I thought that this shrimp scampi tasted excellent. For a previous visit years ago, I thought that the filet mignon tasted very good and that the crab cakes needed more meat and less breadcrumbs.

Shrimp scampi: huge portion of garlicky well flavored noodles

We arrived late at the hotel and came here because of convenience (open until 10 pm) but were really impressed. Place was hopping on a weekday with groups hanging out at the large comfy lounge and a live piano player entertaining guests. A very comfortable lived in ambiance with huge windows all around looking out to the tropical garden and pools. Waitress and busboy were very friendly and helpful. I got the $44 three course meal with choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. Huge crisp fried calamari was great and helped all three of us sate our hunger. The blackened mahi mahi entree was excellent. My wife got the mahi mahi on top of a robust Caesar and kale salad and also found it well prepared. Our daughter got the huge portion of shrimp scampi, which was as good as the best Italian restaurants with tons of garlic and lots of large shrimps. Key lime pie was good and not too sweet. We all took back leftovers and plan to return for the breakfast buffet and possibly also the Xmas brunch. A very comfortable and enjoyable experience with tons of good quality food and welcoming staff!

We chose Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale to celebrate my cousin's graduation, and what a choice she…read moremade! From start to finish, this place delivered on every level. We opted to sit outside, since it is waterfront and even though it was a hot summer day, it was surprisingly manageable since our covered table made all the difference while we enjoyed the stunning waterfront views. We kicked things off with cocktails, and some wine and the Sun Kissed Cocktail was an excellent choice. Not only was it delicious and refreshing, but the presentation was absolutely stunning . a real rose embedded inside an ice cube. It was almost too beautiful to drink... almost. For appetizers, we went with the Tropical Ceviche and the Tuna Tacos, and both were incredible. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and I loved the mango touch that both dishes shared as it added the perfect tropical sweetness. Then came the entrees, we shared the Shoyu Glazed Sea Bass served with a rice pilaf, edamame purée, bok choy, and shiitake mushrooms, this fish was literally melt-in-your-mouth perfection. We also shared the Lobster Diavolo Pasta which was equally impressive and packed with generous chunks of lobster throughout the pasta, plus a whole small lobster to crack into. And then there were the side of Brussels Sprouts ... honestly, I never thought I'd be raving about a side dish, but here we are. Served shredded rather than whole, and tossed in the most incredible sauce, these were hands down some of the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had in my life. A must-order. Boatyard exceeded every expectation. The food, the atmosphere, the presentation .. all top tier. My cousin picked a winner, and we'll absolutely be back!

Our server (Daniel? Can't remember unfortunately) was great - he took photos of us when we asked, using our phone and our instax Polaroid which was so sweet, even pulled a sharpie out of his pocket so i could write the place and date on them. i love the way the staff work together as a team, one person might take your order, someone else delivers the food/checks in on you, etc. - we never had to wait long when we needed something. I loved the artichoke appetizer - unique way of serving them and the cream sauce was delicious. I ordered the full snapper it was so good, perfectly golden crispy on the outside and tender meat on the inside. I would have loved the option to pair it with something besides rice but the dill rice itself was really good. Mostly the sides are à la carte. The bolognese was also delicious, as was the swordfish. The bread is also sweet and delicious, used to be free, now it's $8 for a tiny loaf. Overpriced for some bread. The full snapper was $59, most entrees are 40-50. I guess you also pay for the setting and view. Good experience overall, this was my second time at boatyard and I'm sure I'll be back again.

We had amazing dinner dates there, on a few occasions while we were still just dating, and I'll never forget those nights thanks to the Restaurant being so perfect! lol For reference we are a couple in our late 20's/30's) & we don't work for or know anyone affiliated with the restaurant...We just really love it lol Review: The views and vibes and just the entire atmosphere was everything! I highly recommend getting a table outside near the water if one is available. It's such a calmer and more romantic yet fun and beautiful experience when you're seated at the tables near the water. The location of them are perfect for date nights or special occasions!! Especially when you go during sunset! Overall it's just a place with a long wait and is a very enjoyable delicious time. The wait is so worth it! (They don't take reservations) The place had a bunch of great relaxing yet lively yet romantic type of vibes and you're surrounded by happy people- including the employees (atleast it seems so) and THE FOOD is just. I don't have the words. I mean, basically everything we've ever ordered at this restaurant has had us in shock after taking the first bites. Like even down to the French fries being yum! The lobster siracha mac and cheese (not sure what it's called on menu) is just my favorite and I crave it everyday if my life including right now as I write this Great staff also. Pricier than a typical restaurant but worth it because it's not a typical restaurant and it's not typical-tasting food.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5…read moreAmbiance: 4.4/5 Value: 4/5 Coconuts is situated on the water with a view of the harbor. The picturesque setting is its main draw. It's very busy and loud there, though, if you are eating indoors at the bar like I was. The bartenders and barbacks are very busy. The restaurant is known for something called "Scoobies" which per Google Gemini are "crab claws (traditionally blue crab or snow crab) that have been partially de-shelled--leaving just the "pincher" as a handle--and sautéed in a rich sauce of garlic, butter, and olive oil with crushed red pepper and scallions." I didn't get the Scoobies because I was apprehensive about how difficult they would be to eat. My dishes were fried oysters, fish tacos, and coconut shrimp platter. They were all fine, but unremarkable. The platter comes with fries and cole slaw as listed, but when I said to the bartender that I didn't need cole slaw, just extra fries, he offered/clarified that I could substitute another side instead, so I went with broccoli. I did notice that there were many flies flying around when my shrimp platter came out. One of the other bartenders put out a plate of hot sauce to repel the flies, which helped. The place is famous and sells its own merchandise like shirts and hats. It is not located near other restaurants, and you'll have to walk fifteen minutes or get an Uber if you are discouraged by the waiting time. The people dining here look like they are pretty well off and are able to enjoy life.

All three stars go to Ava. This past Tuesday my family came to Shooters for dinner to celebrate my…read morebirthday. We were coming from Hallandale, we had an 8pm reservation got seated around 815 which wasn't too bad. We were sat in a dimmer quieter section away which I really appreciate since our 1 year old was sleeping giving us the perfect date-night setting. Unfortunately the last time we been to Shooters was Valentine's Day 2025. We weren't aware that the menu had been changed since our last time dining which was rather unfortunate since the two entrees (seared brown butter scallops & shrimp and grilled soy-ginger glazed salmon) we came for were changed on the menu. We ended up getting the soy glazed salmon and scallops & prawns which unfortunately we did not enjoy at all. Even the sides were different previously you could just get a side of Mac now you can only get a side of truffle Mac? The grilled soy ginger salmon was on a bed of veggies (bok choy, Napa cabbage, onions, peppers) the one that's currently on the menu was basically on two inedible pieces of bok choy and a bed of rice I couldn't even break and chew the bok choy. Our server Ava was very attentive and sweet even gave a beautiful little treat for a birthday dessert ( not a chocolate fan but her energy made the dessert amazing ). After we paid our check we asked Ava for a manager and did specify that it was regarding the food more and not her service. I didn't catch the name of the manager we spoke to but her response to us simply questioning the menu change was she's not the culinary director or something along those lines but she would still hear our feedback. She just had such an I don't care attitude about it in my opinion and had I not had a few drinks in my system, trying to enjoy my time out with my family and birthday I would've let her know her attitude regarding it just was unnecessary. We unfortunately agreed to find a new go-to restaurant to celebrate our special occasions since so much has changed. Thank you so much to Ava for making our visit worth it! Didn't get pictures of the salmon, scallops, drinks or oysters that we got but I did get the fish dip and the dessert. Edited to add pictures from one of our previous visits
