We were seated right away and ordered our meals. I started with a pasta, which was cooked just right and had a delicious meat sauce. For the main course, I had the saffron risotto with osso buco. The risotto was flavourful, although watery. The quality of the meat used for the osso buco was average and didn't have much flavour; my mate ordered the same dish the next night at a different restaurant, and his dish resembled what I had been hoping for at Giglio Rosso. I passed on dessert because I was full (and tired), but all of the options on the cart looked appetizing. My mate ordered the fruit cup, and they included a scoop of ice cream at no extra cost. If you're looking for a quick dinner near Milano Centrale station, this is an acceptable option and will do the trick. However, if we hadn't been so tired, we would have tried harder to find another place with better food. If I come back, I'll probably just order two pasta dishes since that was the best part of the meal.

Like each bite was delicious and we literally fought over the last few cheeses left on the plate. My husband demolished his osso bucco and I adored the eggplant gnocchi. So so so tasty and I would absolutely get it again. Service was friendly and drinks were delicious; the desserts definitely did not pale in comparison either. I had the chocolate cake which was delectable. I would put this on your "must try, must eat at" list and definitely swing by if you are in Milan. Then we got risotto alla milanese con ossobuco, the symbol of Milanese cuisine, and it was really really good. The risotto was creamy, buttery and delicious, the ossobuco "melt in your mouth" tender and with a lot of delicious bone marrow in the bone. Fantastic. Risotto ai funghi porcini freschi was very good too. The tagliatelle al ragù di cinghiale (boar) were very good, but the tagliatelle were a bit too tough, which is very strange for fresh pasta. It felt like the fresh pasta was left to dry out and then it was not cooked enough to rehydrate it. Whatever, the ragù was delicious. Finally the mondeghili, typical Milanese fried meat balls, although delicious, were not authentic, at least according to the expert in the group. He chose a delicious wine, perfect for the main dish beef I planned to order. My husband ordered a wonderful fizzy water that we hope we can find at home. I am celiac, so no bread for me. However, my husband said the pillowy focaccia was his favorite out of the selections in the basket. Let me tell you about the olives: they were the best green olives I have ever had, popping with garlic flavor, and their texture was perfect. They tasted home-made to me! We started the meal with a selection of cheeses which came with a pot of honey and a pot of a caramelized red onion-reduced in red wine and sweetened with a little sugar. The onion condiment was divine. It was best when topped on the truffle cheese. Main courses arrived later. My steak fillet was the softest beef I have ever eaten. In fact, it was truly the best steak I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the sea bass and grilled veggies. We split the veggies. For dessert my husband selected a flan-like dessert that was smooth and silky while I chose a green apple sorbet that had a French Norman brandy (Calvados) on top.
