Like each bite was delicious and we literally fought over the last few cheeses left on the plate. My husband demolished his osso bucco and I adored the eggplant gnocchi. So so so tasty and I would absolutely get it again. Service was friendly and drinks were delicious; the desserts definitely did not pale in comparison either. I had the chocolate cake which was delectable. I would put this on your "must try, must eat at" list and definitely swing by if you are in Milan. Then we got risotto alla milanese con ossobuco, the symbol of Milanese cuisine, and it was really really good. The risotto was creamy, buttery and delicious, the ossobuco "melt in your mouth" tender and with a lot of delicious bone marrow in the bone. Fantastic. Risotto ai funghi porcini freschi was very good too. The tagliatelle al ragù di cinghiale (boar) were very good, but the tagliatelle were a bit too tough, which is very strange for fresh pasta. It felt like the fresh pasta was left to dry out and then it was not cooked enough to rehydrate it. Whatever, the ragù was delicious. We got two dishes (Milanese veal cutlet and tripe), a dessert (sbrisolona), and lunch for the next day (Osso Bucco), all for under 50 euros. The Milanese veal cutlet tastes like your typical fried meat cutlets but man is it a long piece of meat. The tripe was good and mixed in a tomato-like soup base. I would be cautious with that one if you don't like organ meats although my wife enjoyed it and she isn't a big fan of organ meats. Sbrisolona reminds me of a flaky almond cookie. Our waiter was very pleasant, fast, and accommodating towards us. Inside looks like a small diner. Would love to come here again just because they made me feel at home as I was eating.

However, my husband said the pillowy focaccia was his favorite out of the selections in the basket. Let me tell you about the olives: they were the best green olives I have ever had, popping with garlic flavor, and their texture was perfect. They tasted home-made to me! We started the meal with a selection of cheeses which came with a pot of honey and a pot of a caramelized red onion-reduced in red wine and sweetened with a little sugar. The onion condiment was divine. It was best when topped on the truffle cheese. Main courses arrived later. My steak fillet was the softest beef I have ever eaten. In fact, it was truly the best steak I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the sea bass and grilled veggies. We split the veggies. For dessert my husband selected a flan-like dessert that was smooth and silky while I chose a green apple sorbet that had a French Norman brandy (Calvados) on top. Service was friendly, encouraged our extremely poor Italian and interacted well. I had prawns and vegetables to start and then the tagleata both acceptable without being outstanding. I have noticed a distinct lack of seasoning this trip and it must be the meals rather than me, although my head is full of flu, as others meals seem fine. To furnish the semifredo which was not too sweet, so just right. My daughters and wife were also happy with their meals, although my daughters did say the toilet, which was downstairs, was scary, given they had spent nearly an hour on Abercrombie and Fitch today, which was darker and full of scary half dressed people I wasn't sure what they were on about. The waiter recommended a nice red from Tuscany (second time in Milan so I am not sure if even the locals don't think much of the local reds. It gets 4 stars for good not great food, but great service.
