I was initially going to get these boots that had ridges in the souls, but Emery informed us that those types of souls would have been a safety hazard for riding because they could get stuck in the stirrups, and if something went sideways, you could end up with a broken ankle if the boot got stuck on the stirrup. I am very thankful that we got informed of this because it would have been a bummer if I walked out with boots that could be harmful with what I was doing.
