How is this place still open? Produce section always looks like it's trod upon. Deli section looks like it's been rode hard and put away wet. Every employee on site looks like they're rather be getting a root canal. Sullen and blank stores and sometimes openly complaining about having to work at the store (when they aren't looking on their phones). Expired food on the shelves often and a generally dank and dirty atmosphere. The person I assume is the manager doesn't seem to care even a little bit. My wife and I joke that it's some sort of bizarro Acme and that maybe they're intentionally trying to run it into the ground so they can close it for good. We've been telling this joke for ten years now and somehow this store is still there. Yet somehow I keep giving it "one last chance" but no more. Tonight I stopped on my way home and picked up some Wahlburger Prime burgers.. It was a long day and I didn't want to go to Giant, so I figured what's the harm, right? I wish I'd gone to Giant instead. I opened the burgers and was greeted with the smell of rotten eggs right away and it didn't go away, that was a half hour ago and I can still smell it in my mind. So, last time Acme Dresher.. unless it's cat food I'm not getting it. Been burned way too many times by this lousy excuse for a grocery store. read more

This is your old fashioned small grocery still kicking among the Walmarts, Amazons, and other heavy hitters. The good thing about the old fashioned stores is the employees are always friendly and the lines are seldom long. The every day prices might not be able to compete with the super stores, but there is always something good on sale. Every time I go in just for a gallon of milk, I always come out with 5 or 6 things because of a buy one get one sale. There's almost always a good deal on ice cream and iced tea. They offer the franchise perks of Acme- gas rewards, monopoly, "Cheep Chicken" Mondays etc. And like the other Acmes they having a pending permit to sell beer. Word is they will be selling brews by the end of 2019. read more

I like this grocery store for several reasons. One because the people here are super friendly. Anytime I need something they are there to help. If an employee does not know where to go then they ask around and find out. Second reason why I love this store is because it clean and the food is fresh. Not only is the food fresh but they have awesome sales. A LOT OF BUY ONE GET ONE FREE- for the meats. It's great when you are on a budget. Another reason is the distance from my home I live about five minutes away and it's very convenient for me and my fiancé. Fourth- they have a monopoly game where you receive tickets and you can win money or trips if you get a certain amount of tickets. It's a great game and it has me coming in to the store more often. I would really like to win a trip or even money for just shopping at a grocery store. Overall this place is great and you can also pick up dinner after there is a pizza place and a Chinese place close by definitely a place to go for shopping and a great experience. Worst shopping experience I've ever had. Store is dark and filthy. Produce department is sad. There is no fresh seafood department. I left without even going through the aisles. My cashier's name was "Cody". I watched and heard him interact with the woman in front of me, no issues. At my turn, he did not look my way or acknowledge me at all. I had to ask him what my total was, as he did not speak to me at all. I paid and he held my receipt up in the air off to the side, instead of handing it to me. I've never been more offended. I've never experienced racism personally, and I don't want to call it that, but this was absolutely unacceptable. I've called and reported my experience to the manager on duty today, and will be drafting something nice to corporate. As expensive as groceries are right now, shopping should at least be tolerable. This was gross all the way around. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I had a super bad experience at their Deli Counter.There was a white woman（work at Deli Counter）shouting at me.I wanted to buy some cheese but I don't know what that cheese called so I show her its photo.After then,she started to shout at me.And she rudely said "You can't show me the picture,you must tell me the name !"And then she just turned back talk to other employees about me.It made me very embarrassing and it also affected my mind whole day.She is RACIST!!!She did not treat other customers like that rude way,Only me ! All I can say is: "it's convenient". 2 minutes away, when I really need something & don't feel like driving to Genuardi's in Roslyn. Of course I kick myself when a 2 minute run-in-and-run-out turns into 20 minutes because they only have 2 lines open there are 5 people in each one. I vow never to come back, but I always do. The people are nice, selection is OK, most of the carts have wheels that don't squeek or stick, but it's just second rate. The staff here is always nice and friendly. The interior is outdated, but that can be overlooked because it's kept neat. I prefer to not purchase and meats or fruit from this acme because we have other store with fresher products so close. We love how they support their local scouts. read more

This is in my neighborhood, it's the only reason I go in there. It smells badly and it's dark and old. No matter when I run in, they have no more than 2 lines open and they all run slow. I was there this week and I was buying 5 items. I waited in the checkout line for almost 10 mins, 4 people in front of me and it never moved. Finally I went to the express lane and the women rolled her eyes and told me to wait a minute. She was talking with another employee. She ran me up, no hello, no smile, super slow and rude. Fast, easy, convenient! It's an older store, doesn't always carry newer products, but perfect for running in for the basics!! If asked to provide something not normally carried, staff is happy to do so. I am here several times per week and staff is always friendly, aside from the MANAGER and a short, short-haired women(mean, miserable women). I have had issues with bad meat and recently purchased shredded cheese which was clearly bad when I opened it, the date was good, so I am assuming it must have sat unrefrigerated at some point. Anyway, I limit my trips here for when I need quick last minute items or when I forget an ingredient. For meats and produce I tend to go elsewhere. Visit acme around 3 times a week on way to work. Understand it's an old store, however the check out people make you feel they are putting you out except for around two of them., one in the express and an another lady.
