Right away, I noticed how friendly the staff was--several team members greeted me as I made my way through the store, which made for a really welcoming experience. The highlight of my visit was meeting Tina in the water aisle. I was browsing the different options when she struck up a conversation and shared her recommendation for Mountain Valley Spring Water. She explained some of the differences between products and talked about what makes Mountain Valley Spring Water unique. I was genuinely impressed by how knowledgeable she was and how excited she seemed to help customers find the right fit for them. It's always nice to run into employees who really know their products and enjoy helping people. Tina definitely made my first Sprouts visit a memorable one. I'll be back to check out more of what the store has to offer!

This store's design makes you feel like you are trapped and assumed a shoplifter before proven…read moreinnocent, with the gate that closes right when you walk in. No other supermarket I have ever been to has this setup. What really pushed my buttons though was that I did all my shopping, spending a full hour here because I wanted to explore and get to know the whole store, and when I got to the checkout, not a single register was open, only the self-checkout. But there was no one manning the self-checkout, there was literally not a single employee in sight. I was frustrated, I don't like using the self-checkout when I have a large purchase with a full cart, but I felt forced into it. So I started scanning, and of course, it glitched on the first item, and had to wait for an employee to help. Eventually (it was not quick) an employee came out from the back of the store. He cleared the code...but then the second item I scanned glitched. There were 3 other customers also needing help. It was a tense, stressful atmosphere. I was waiting, and at this point it had been about 2 minutes total since I got to the front of the line, and at the pace things were proceeding, it was clear that I wasn't going to get out of this store in under 40 minutes, which is just crazily unacceptable to me. So I told the employee, I want to check out at a regular register, or I will abandon the cart. He didn't say anything in response, so I abandoned the cart. I feel bad for the employee. I am very angry at the company though. If you don't hire enough staff to keep the store open, you need to close the store. It's rude and incredibly inconvenient to the customers AND to the employees. I also just don't get it. Like...I've shopped at Lidl stores in Middletown, DE and in Lancaster, PA and have never had this experience there. They always have had registers open. Companies need to stop trying to cut corners and push us customers around by making us deal with long inconveniences just to save them a few pennies. I don't put up with it, and I wish other customers wouldn't either. Companies need to be punished when they try to pull stunts like this. I won't come back to this store until I receive an apology from management and reassurance that the store will always be adequately staffed in future visits. Oh, and after leaving this awful store, what did I do? I went down the road to ALDI and I bought all of the same stuff...incidentally, lower prices, the produce was fresher. And a normal (not self-checkout) register was open with NO wait. It was a delightful experience. I gave this place a chance and it failed miserably. I am just sad that I can't enjoy its good bakery section. That is the one good thing about this store. But they need to actually make a usable checkout process which means (1) adequate staff (2) always a normal register open (3) self-checkout that actually works. Also maybe redesign the store so we don't feel trapped and like we are all being treated like shoplifters, because literally no other store I shop at does that. ALDI, Trader Joe's, Food Lion, ACME, they are all just normal. That ridiculous gate thing is only a thing of this store.

He then walked straight back to the meat department. Customer service is awful. Self-checkout is the only option and it is poorly attended. Three days ago it took my wife and I 25 minutes to check out 3 items because the self-checkout kept malfunctioning and nobody was readily available to help us. It's obvious that nobody at this store cares.

After multiple visits I have only encountered one employee that was barely civil (service desk) and everyone else no matter what time of day has been very pleasant. And I have shopped during all shifts between 6am and 10pm on weekdays and during the weekend. I also like the fact this chain is employee owned. And they stock my favorite brand of bacon - Kunzler.i despise grocery shopping normally but I can definitely tolerate, and perhaps enjoy, shopping in this clean, uncluttered, friendly store.

Easy store to navigate, and is not crammed. Lots of smaller or end displays with changing stock, keeps it interesting. Fast checkout! My only issue with this store is that they are VERY LAX ON PRICE DISPLAY. I know I'm shouting, maybe Gigante will hear me (this listing is unclaimed). Happily the cashiers are friendly and help scan things, but this is a pain....just about half of my items last time had NO PRICE labels on item or the shelf! Stopped me from more spontaneous purchases so maybe not a bad thing, but annoying nonetheless.

Armed with a list, I accompanied my Pennsylvania-imported buddy to the new Weis in Bayberry (north part of Middletown with new neighborhoods.) He is familiar with Weis from PA but I haven't shopped at this chain, myself. For quite a while, people living on the north side of town did not have shopping but now there is Bayberry Center with a McDs, (another) Wing Stop and a few other businesses poised to open ...and gasoline, another necessity previously not close by Boyd's Corner Road. The store is LARGE. Approaching Wegman's-Large. And the aspect is very attractive, from the pavement laid with pavers outside (and at the intersections as well) to the wide front and inside, windows up high for good lighting. As you enter, you pick up your cart inside (dry on a rainy day) and then off to the deli or prepared foods on the left. T The produce is front left and has plenty of choice. There is also a prepared hot food and salad bar. Dairy and frozen are way off to the far right of the store, more on that later. Sale beef and chicken was in the front in a refrigerated bin. Great prices on chicken parts and steak. In the back, you get to the fish counter, which was a bit perplexing as the pre-packaged fresh salmon did not have prices and the labels on the bin were hard to decipher (and they are hard to read if you wear readers.) I prefer that weighed meats and fish be labeled on the package and these were not, and it also completely confused the guy behind the fish counter who was trying to help us. This accounts for the star off the rating. There is a lot of fresh fish you can order to weigh up at the fish station, so it's not hopeless. There is a large aisle of international/Hispanic/and other ethnic foods (Indian, Asian, Jewish) mostly the more usual items. If you need sauces and curry, they have some. The Hispanic section wasn't enormous but it was ok. We enjoy dairy foods and the section is all the way on the far right. There is good selection although only two brands of cottage cheese and one was sold out (the one we like.) Weis used to make their own cottage cheese but they don't anymore, so you get Daisy or Breakstones. There were multiple brands and fat percentage types of lactose-reduced milk, which for me is a necessity. Plenty of yogurt including our favorite brand. Our total bill was fairly good due to the sales which we had carefully scanned before going shopping. Prices seem mid-tier, but with sales, you can do pretty well. This is a one-stop full service grocery store that is well able to service a growing community. People shopping looked happy and friendly and relaxed, so the shopping experience is pleasant.

I can actually relax and enjoy the ride knowing I will walk in to Weis in a great mood and leave even happier. The prices are very reasonable and competitive and as a bonus they REWARD SENIORS on Tuesdays with a Senior Discount on top of their everyday low prices. Employees there actually walk up to you and offer a greeting and assistance. This is how all businesses should treat customers. Sadly in Smyrna this is no longer practiced at the main two markets. Pharmacy advised my eye ointment prescription was out of stock, so the pharmacist handed me an…read moreover-the-counter medication and said I could use it instead. After reading the box more closely, it clearly stated that the ointment should not be used for eyes. When I spoke to the pharmacist on duty the next day, she said she wasn't there so she didn't know why that happened. No ownership, no apology, no concern that their pharmacist advised using a skin cream as a substitute for an eye ointment. If anything, she was irritated that she had to talk with me. CVS pharmacy needs to take its responsibility a little more seriously and pay attention to what they're doing.
