Avoid this poor excuse for a dry cleaner. Poor quality work, unresponsive to repeated requests, huge staff turn over, and as of now intentionally add false and non-approved charges. I dropped off on 6/7/23 4 ties, and approximately 7-8 shirts. When I picked up on Friday 6/8/23, I was not quoted an amount. I was charged on my card, came home and hung my bagged clothing. Today 6/12, I am organizing my closet and I see I was charged $115.35 on my credit card. So I start looking. I was charged $15.77 per tie, why you may ask, because they fraudulently added alteration charges to each tie. Are you kidding me? No alterations were requested or needed. So I drive to their downtown Orlando location. Employees could have cared less. I asked for the manager or owner, I was told they are not available. Please do yourself a favor, don't use these cleaners. Using the cleaners closest to your home is not a good decision, as this experience shows me. As I am writing this I just got a call from a person identifying herself as the manager. Talk about knowing where the problem originates. She called me up to lie, insult me, tell me my "standards" are to high to be met. Well considering you currently have 3 stars as your average rating, it is not I have HIGH standards, but that I have them at all. The owner would be well served changing out this "manager"! Update after owner's response: First, learn to read, I said "when I picked up on Friday 6/9/23, I was not quoted an amount" nothing about quote when I dropped off. If you spent as much time responding to reviews with lies, as you did providing a great product and services, your reviews on multiple platforms would not be so bad. You have a problem, and until you admit it, it won't be fixed. You remind me of an addict who can't stop the addiction, until they admit to the problem. First, I want to start off with the good things about this dry cleaners. The staff is very friendly, they offer you water and a newspaper to take with you. The pricing is absolutely unacceptable. I had a jumpsuit dry cleaned, the girl stated it would be 10 to $12 instead it was $20 the jump suit only cost 60. In total I had 8 pieces dry cleaned and my bill was a $100. I will not be going back to this dry cleaners for the fact that they are overpriced. If you don't mind paying more they're a great option but I feel there are other companies out there that will charge a fair price and give you the same quality type work. read more

After years of taking my laundry to Acme, it has been disappointed on the quality and customer service. The shirts were coming out of the laundry dirtier than coming in, specially white shirts. They re do some shirts and was getting worst. When I brought it up the answer was, "we can not sure they will come out clean". Brought a suit in to get cleaned and pointed out a spot on the back of the jacket that I wanted to (hopefully) get removed. When I initially got the suit back the spot was still there and there was no explanation (e.g. a note saying "we couldn't get it out"). So I brought the suit back and they were really nice about it and said they would clean it again for free. When I got it back the second time the spot was gone. I love Acme. It's extremely convenient from where I work and they do an excellent job. The perks: they have a coupon booklet that you can ask for. Every month has a promotion and every now and then, they'll run an additional promo. Acme also has same day service: drop your clothes off in the morning and pick them up after work. An added bonus is the drive through drop off/pick up. PLUS if you check in on FB when you drop your clothes off (AND show an employee) they'll take your name down and apply $5 off your next transaction. The downside: remember that you're paying for quality here. Prices can really add up but know they job is well done. In sum, is worth the money. Keep an eye out for promotions, get the coupon booklet, and make sure to check in at drop offs! read more

According to their complimentary nail filer, this local dry cleaner has been around since 1928 and serves Orlando in two locations, Downtown and College Park. What's fabulous about Acme Cleaners? They are close to the professional population and must garner a great deal of business from those heading to and from work. They also have a drive through area which makes it even more convenient. And if that's not enough of an incentive, their turnaround time is fantastic. If you get your items in by 10am, and ask for a rush, they will get it cleaned by 5pm that day and stay open until 7pm. If you miss the 10am cutoff, you will be guaranteed your clothes the following day by 5pm. That's a pretty great feat considering the amount of apparel that passes through their doors. They sell the newspaper, sometimes have fresh popcorn and also offer free mini-lint rollers. Nice little amenities that keep their customers coming back. What you may have to get over though is the price tag per item. Higher than most other area dry cleaners, Acme seems to be doing well despite this setback. For example, pants, skirts, shorts, and slacks are $6.70 a piece. Blazers and sport coats are $8.80 and a ladies dress is $12.55. So you can see that they cost more than most but have those added offerings that may make up for the extra dollars you are forking over. They also have laundry services if you need some assistance in that department as well. Expect $2.65 per hand finished shirts/blouses and $7.75 for cotton pants and jeans. The staff is friendly and their system is organized so if you don't mind spending a bit more, this might be your new favorite dry cleaner. read more

Extremely convenient location and drive-through experience, with friendly service! I stopped by here yesterday (Friday) to drop off some dry-cleaning for my boyfriend. It was my first time here, and I was immediately impressed by the fast drive-through. Although there was another driver ahead of me in line, they were adequately staffed to handle my drop off simultaneously. The young woman assisting me was so nice. She immediately recognized my boyfriend's name and acknowledged that he's a frequent customer, which gave me peace of mind (I was afraid I might have gone to the wrong Acme Cleaners). I was told that the dry cleaning will be ready Monday. The bf says they're always on time. I was impressed by the speedy turnaround! I've always used a different dry-cleaner, who takes a week or longer... and sometimes never tells me about the change in turnaround time. It's time for me to upgrade to Acme! read more

Our senior dog had an accident on our expensive down comforter so we quickly brought it to ACME to have cleaned. Florida weather was starting to become warm again so we didn't need it on our bed anymore, unfortunately, that also meant we didn't take it out of the nice bag they put our comforter in once they gave it back to us because we were going to store it for next winter anyway. We took it out of the bag a week later to find that it wasn't cleaned because there was a huge yellow stain still on it and it smelled funny. This morning I was in a rush to find a cleaner to get my chef jacket cleaned for an event tomorrow. I had remembered walking past Acme a few times. I walked in and was met by a very nice, and cute, worker. She said that it would be no problem to get my stuff done by 4pm. Price was reasonable for the fast service. When I went to pick up my shirts, there was a different female there. She rang me up, and even gave me some pointers on what they can do next time to get food stains out, and said its not extra. Been using ACME cleaners for years. The service and quality of the dry cleaning is always superb. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. My only gripe would be that they are not the most environmentally friendly due to uuse of large pls antic hangers and plastic bags I know this is standard practice but would be nice to not see so much plastic being wasted just to dry clean. Also they put a fake pocket square in every suit jacket. I get that it's a nice presentation but it just gets thrown away immediately and just more waste. But other than that they a the best cleaners I have used. read more

I needed a suit done for my husband. Same day was a must. Their machine was down but they let me know they could launder the shirt and press the jacket and pants which was really all I needed. They did end up getting the machines up and running so everything was cleaned. I appreciate how honest they were and that they didn't over promise. The fact that I don't have to get out of my car is fantastic. They even gave my son a bag of popcorn at pickup. He was thrilled! I have worked downtown for 30 years and used Acme for decades. I pass by at least a dozen other cleaners, just as convenient if not more so, in all those years. I'll never use them Again. Here is why: On August 26, 2019 I came to pick up my shirts and 2 pairs of pants (one blue and one black) I had left with them previously. The young lady said the pants were not ready but she gave me my shirts. I waited my usual 2 or 3 weeks or so before returning with another load of shirts, and I asked for the 2 pair of dress pants (that were not ready on 26th). I was told they had already been given to me and I was shown a printed receipt of something showing I was charged on the 26th for a pair of dress pants, one tan (not blue) and the other black. The manager was not available, so I came back few days later on the following Monday. On Monday, the Manager, named Crystal, showed me the same paper work and insisted that it proved I picked them up on the 26th of August. When I explained that I didn't get them bc they were not ready, she said she would look into it, speak with her owner that Wednesday (2 days later) and call me the same day. No call on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (or Saturday/Sunday). I drove to the cleaners that Monday on my way to work. Crystal met me as I drove into the drive thru and said "I was just going to call you" (Yea, right! Except you didn't.). I asked her what the plan was, and -at a minimum-they should not charge me for the pleasure of losing $200 (brand new) worth of tailored dress slacks. She said they would cancel the charge, and she would call me later that day after she spoke to the owner. This was October 7, 2019. On October 10, 2019 I got a VM from Crystal. This was their NEW and IMPROVED story: -That I had not picked up the pants on the 26th (as previously claimed by them) and she acknowledged that I DID NOT PU the pants on 26th (as I recalled) -BUT claimed that I had picked the pants up THE NEXT DAY (27th). She said her records showed that I picked up a pair of "Tan" pants and a pair of "Black striped" pants. PROBLEM: I dropped off blue and black (without stripes) pants. I originally EXPLAINED that these are the actual pants-last seen in the arms of an Acme employee-that ACTUALLY DROPPED OFF. I have a pair of Tan pants, but no black pants with stripes. I don't know HOW or WHY they lost my cloths OR WHY -after decades of loyalty-they can't admit their own screw up, but I'll never use them again. And neither should you! I love this place's staff and drive up service. I have had my hot house quilt cleaned here twice. The first time I had it done, the total was $45 and when I came home and took it out of the clear packaging it was still VERY damp! :( not DRY at all- although smelt fresh and clean. The second time I had the quilt cleaned, just this past week, my total only came out to $19 and it was still warm and very crisp. not sure what occurred but I will most likely go back. read more

The quality of cleaning is excellent but they're expensive. I am ok with that. What I am not ok with is the consistent overcharging or mistakes in billing. It's so consistent I find it difficult to believe it's a mistake. Check your invoices before driving away. I'm sure most people don't even know they're being overcharged. read more

If there were "0" stars that is what I'd pick for my first experience at Acme. Last week I took in 2 suits, 2 shirts and a white doctor's coat. Someone else picked the clothes up for me the next day and brought me a receipt for...wait for it...$69.00. The highest dry cleaning bill I've ever had by a factor of almost 3x. They also did a horrible job - both shirts had wrinkles under the arms where a machine had clearly been used and no hand touch-up done. When I called to express my shock and dismay, I got their answering machine even thought they still had 8 minutes to be open. I left a message asking for at least part of my money to be refunded and asking why they hadn't priced my suits by the "suit", like every other place does. I got back a message the next day telling me that on my first visit, I should have been given a price list (didn't happen) so that I wouldn't go into shock when I saw the bill (did happen). They wouldn't fix anything, wouldn't credit any part of the order, and didn't seem to care at all that the prices were outrageous and that I would never come back. The message did add that they provided "discounts" if I advertised for them on Facebook. ??? Really? No thanks. If I change my mind, that will also be negative advertising for you. --Customer Service: F --Pricing: F for structure, F for actual cost The worst dry cleaning experience I've had in years - I've been less upset before when cleaners have actually ruined a garment. n NEVER go here! read more

I was just charged nearly $50 for a handful of shirts, and after inspection of the receipt, it seems an additional $12 was added to the cost because some of the shirts were deemed "fancy", by their standards. This is a place where me and my boyfriend use for our dry cleaning needs all the time. And to be honest, this is not the first time but the last time that I am sincerely disappointed. Even though, the staff is very nice and the pricing is okay... they always manage to shrink your clothes. I recently dropped off a jumpsuit that I bought all the way in Miami and me wanting to take care of it, I send it off to dry cleaning. Sadly, I only got to wear this ONCE, it came back so small that I can never wear it again, it's completely ruined. This has been the 2nd or 3rd clothing item that me/boyfriend get to throw away!
