Dr Acker came very highly recommend it to me. At first I thought I was with the right chiropractor for my condition. However, after my last visit, I walked to my car and realized I was in spasm. I could not lift my right leg to get in the car without agonizing pain. I saw a medical massage therapist the next day oand she relieved my pain and the spasms. I called Dr. Acker's office and left a message about why I wasn't coming back for my next appointment.It was shocking to me. I never heard a word from his office. My belief is he is a fine chiropractor who is seeing way too many patients. I know he is well thought of by them. I detest writing poor reviews, especially this one. Two stars only because I didn't actually experience in office care. However, I called for a friend after reading this on their website: "Acker Chiropractic believes in the value of wellness care for you and your family and have maintained a pricing structure that allows care for all budgets. Our office participates in most insurance programs. We also accept auto accident and workers compensation cases. For patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged. To learn more about our payment options for chiropractic and wellness care, you can call our office directly." Just a heads up, this is a false statement. They DO NOT maintain a pricing structure that allows care for ALL budgets. I was told that the LOWEST pricing is $85 for the first visit and $45 for every visit after. So if you need to be seen twice a week that's a lot of dough for someone on a tight budget. I pay my chiropractor $50 a month for both my son and I to be seen 2-3 times a week. But that's because my chiropractor actually lives up to the statement of maintaining a pricing structure for all budgets which is on a scale based on your income and he's very reputable and successful at what he does. It's very disturbing to see a business with a statement like this and using as a means to lure you in, so to speak. Also, the receptionist did not seem to be well versed on chiropractic care. I actually had to explain some affects of subluxation that she didn't seem to understand. She also didn't seem to grasp the concept of "wellness care" which is clearly stated on their website including the paragraph I quoted here. Beware. read more

First time here and dr Acker is great! I came in because my lower back was stiff and aching and he cracked and stretched my body and I felt amazing after. I always gone to chiropractors and they always say the same thing "your going to be a little sore after this" and I never do. But today I was. I went to this place today, not for a chiropractic appointment but for a massage. My massage therapist was Breanna and she was absolutely amazing! I am a professional athlete that is working all the time so my body is constantly tight and muscles are working overtime. Breanna really loosened up my neck, back, and worked on my plantar fascia (I have plantar fasciitis). Her deep tissue pressure was right on point too. Just perfect. I could instantly feel a change. Not sure about any other massage therapists in the Palm Springs/CatCity area, but I'm willing to bet money that she is probably in the top 5 of the Coachella Valley. With the line of work that I do, I am always getting massages so I know a good massage when I experience it. And this was a damn good massage. read more

I came in with a lot of neck pain and left with little relief especially after paying 85 dollars. The receptionist hadn't even taken my payment before asking about making another appointment. All appointments are always on-time. And more importantly, both sets of sessions have corrected my injuries in a timely manner. My last visits have been for EXTREME PAIN from back muscles spasms. I love this chiropractic office. They offer a variety of services to maintain spinal health. Most of my treatments have started with a couple minutes on a massage chair. I have also received traction or massage therapy before my chiropractic adjustment. I love Dr. Castro! He is an amazing chiropractor. Very knowledgeable and has helped me reduce the pain that I was in following a car accident. The sessions usually finish with a round on muscle stimulation machine to help relax the muscles further. Love this office! I found this place from my midwife as a recommendation for general pregnancy related care for pain management and other benefits. I had no idea I could see a chiropractor while pregnant and was so happy to hear I could. I've had back problems for months and left the office feeling better after one visit! I moved to Palm Springs full time a year and a half ago. I've been "dealing" with a muscle imbalance called Lower Crossed Syndrome for at least 7 years. I've tried 7 - 8 different Chiropractic offices since moving here and none of them have been as helpful as the one I had in Long Beach where I previously lived (in fact, many of them were a complete waste of time and money). That is until I found this practice...this is the real deal! Each visit lasts 30 - 45 minutes and I feel great when I leave. I've been making some real progress with my body issues since going here. I slipped and pulled a muscle in my knee. I am traveling and was very lucky to find Dr, Oscar Castro at Alker Chiropractic! Within a few visits, Dr. Castro got me back into form that I have been able to go on long hikes. I could barely walk when I first saw him. To add, I have been seeing chiropractors on a regular basis for 25 years and have never had one who could adjust my neck. Been going to Dr. Aker for years. Have been to numerous others, and he is among the best. Always happily addresses issues I present to him. He and his receptionist, Brittany, are always pleasant and upbeat. Brittany is down-to-earth and caring and makes me feel welcome there. She also successfully tries to get me in when needed, even at the last minute. This has been extremely helpful in that minor issues have been taken care of before they escalate into major problems and sudden-onset pains have been relieved promptly. Their appointments run on time. They start you off in their massage chair to relax and loosen up. Have never had a negative experience here. Even insurance billing has been efficient.
