I found Julie under a very specific set of circumstances - I was in the early stages of recovery from an eating disorder and wanted a trainer who could help me get back into regular movement without the diet culture bullshit attached. I wanted to get stronger and increase mobility without worrying about shrinking or sculpting my body. I needed help enjoying movement for the sake of moving and feeling good - not for wanting to whittle myself to a certain size. Julie totally understood where I was coming from and she was happy to work with me to meet my particular set of goals. Julie's background in social work combined with her training expertise gives her the depth of understanding needed to serve clients coming from different backgrounds/life experiences/specific needs. Julie is everything you would want in a trainer. She is encouraging, kind, non-judgmental, supportive, and fun to be around. Her workouts are expertly crafted to suit you; they are challenging but doable, and Julie has a wealth of modifications available to help strengthen form. Her space is clean and inviting, and equipped with all the workout things one could need. But the best part about Julie is that her care for you extends far outside of the training session - she wants to know how the rest of your life is going too. She asks about sleep, stress, hydration, mood - all of the behind-the-scenes things that impact a workout. Julie cares about your goals, but more importantly, she cares about you as a person and your overall wellbeing. With Julie's support, I've never felt stronger, more mobile, or more confident in my body. Exercise is feeling more intuitive and fun than it has ever been for me. Lastly, I feel like I have someone in my life who is cheering me on about all the things, not just fitness. Julie is truly an amazing human being and it has been my honor and pleasure to spend time with her. I'm excited for all of the work we will continue to do together!

I mentioned to them that I possibly had shoulder lock and I was avoiding the doctors because I knew they would recommend surgery. Met with Josh a couple of days later. He assessed the shoulder lock and he was confident he could help. 12 sessions in and I'm at 75% improvement from day 1. Josh has been amazing in educating me on the proper strength training needed to balance the entire system to reduce the shoulder lock. Even though they are out of my insurance network, Sarah has been great in helping me get the proper information to submit in hopes of getting some reimbursement. I always look forward to my sessions. Thanks to Josh, I now have a love hate relationship with battle ropes.
