Even though Acio's is only 10 minutes from my house in MA, I would have never found it since I automatically head to Amesbury or Newburyport if I'm getting pizza from out of town. However, when my brother (who also lives in MA) told me about the Wood Girl calzone, I had to try it. This calzone is THE BOMB---chicken, broccoli, feta, mozzarella, and Greek dressing. The thing must weigh about 5 pounds (we always need to get the large) and is the most beautiful calzone I've ever seen. I think one time I tried the Wood Girl pizza, and it was not as good---stick with the calzone. My only real complaint about Acio's is that they're not open on Sundays. I think they're probably missing out on a lot of business. I can't be the only person who doesn't feel like cooking on a lot of Sunday nights, especially during football season... read more

I'm not a fan of their Italian subs. All their veggies are sliced not diced which in my opinion makes the sub. The hot peppers are more like banana peppers and are not spicy ( and I'm not one for super hot food so if I don't think they are spicy they aren't). Disappointed to say the least. I went with them because my usual sub place is closed today. From now on I'll cook on mondays. read more

Usually hostile employees, poor customer service, pizza left out long after it should be tossed, is ascio's. I've seen them grow from a small hole in the wall in a store accross the street to the larger shop they now occupy. The change did not improve the goods. Some food is passable. Wing dings are fun. If you can get something fresh you're good to go. ( but good luck) . Menu is monstrous. Couldn't read it in a week. No service with a smile in this establishment. Agree with Peter G. Service was so bad My BF wont let me try again, Last Friday ordered a pizza and clucker ball, Frist the girl who answered the phone put me on hold but she actually was just talking trash about another employee to someone else I could hear it all, then pizza was 45minutes late and it was cold, plus delivery boy had an attitude problem. Let me start by saying the food has always been good, well above average for a take out pizza shop/family restaurant. I hesitated to write this review, because I am not a huge fan of Yelpers reviewing food, because everyone has their own tastes.... This is strictly a service review. I have never felt that these people even want to sell their food, and it's an inconvenience to them when you order in anyway (take out, eat in or delivery). The older woman, who I believe is the owner is by far THE WORST. The icing on the cake was today when she had an obviously brand new employee taking calls and working the register. In the ten minutes I was there waiting for food she berated and belittled this poor girl to the point I wish I could tell her to run away. Then she decided to tell me my food was ready, imagine the tone "Ahhhh hello, it's ready"..... It's too bad one of the only places in Newton and she must know it, but lost me as a customer, I'll happily order from somewhere else read more

We had family visit us from out of town on Saturday nigh and it was late so we order pizza from Acio's. The Chicken BBQ pizza had raw white onions on top and it was terrible! The red sauce on the pepperoni and chicken bbq tasted like tomato soup and the crust was half way cooked. May be we caught them at a bad time? Love this place! They have so many amazing pizzas to choose from. And everything is home made, fresh, and delicious. I have been working my way through the pizza menu and some of my favorites are the greeie park and the tanglewood. My daughter is a huge fan of the meatball parm too. Last weeks pumpkin gnocchi salad was amazing. I hope they bring it back soon. Way to go ladies! read more

The food is delicious, I would definitely recommend the golden bbq sandwich! They also have sweet potato fries which are a great alternative to regular ones. The one downside to the restaurant is the customer service. Most of the kids that work at the counter or answer the phone seem like you are bothering them by coming in or calling. It's frustrating because it's located close by but the service is a huge turnoff. read more

One of my favorite pizza places. You have to try the specialty pizzas with combinations that you don't see at most others. My favorite is The Junction and the Route 108 and Paradise round out the top three. Pleasant staff and plenty of other options on the menu make this a place to stop in and sample their fare! read more

Too often I, and I know many others want to significantly trash an establishment just because of service or attitude there, regardless of quality. I'm grading just on the narrow aspect of two pies today. Have been going to Acio's since I lived down the street. No longer there, I sometimes go out of my way for their pepperoni pizza which is the benchmark for good Italian pies at any pizza place. Prefer not to get into the crap shoot of tatted n' pierced delivery drivers and all that hassle which the owners can't always monitor anyways. I'll tune out any front counter attitudes and chatter-good or bad and grab n' go when I go for pie. Roni and Acio's Sink pizza good Italian style pie, a bit better than all the places within a 5 mile radius of N.Andover, Ma. (with the exception of Pizza King in South Lawrence, don't like location) Just my longtime, pie hole eating opinion. Based on those two items only that I am familiar with, 5*. read more

The cluckerballs and cookies are by far my favorite. The weird looking cookie with pretzel pieces on top is to die for. I have been coming in here since before they were in this building and have never been disappointed. Calzones are excellent chicken parm being my favorite. read more

Tonight I ordered 2 subs, an order of motzarella sticks, and cheese bread for delivery. The price we were originally quoted was ridiculous, then when it was delivered it cost even more because they included 2 sodas we didn't order. Our subs came squished and there were only 4 motzarella sticks in the order. When we called to complain the girl was incredibly rude and said she was going to talk to her manager who hung up on us. They blocked my number and we tried to call from my fiancée phone to talk to the manager about a refund she flat out refused to talk to us. About an hour later we hear a knock on the door at 9pm which woke our daughter up and it was the police. Those petty, money hungry, rude, and vile people working at Acios called them claiming we were making harassing phone calls. Never in my life have I witnessed anything so asscenine with any business! They have the rudest staff and don't care about their customers at all! I don't know how they're even still open! read more

The most unprofessional and rudest owner I have ever had the un-pleasure of dealing with. For some reason she thinks she is the only restaurant offering food in our small town and she can do no wrong. I ordered a cold sub to be delivered less than a mile away, and it took over an hour. Not a big deal, but when I called to ask about my order and how late it was getting, the owner was nothing but disrespectful. What ever happened to making a customer feel like they are getting a service worth paying for? I understand busy times and deliveries, but NEVER, EVER call back with an attitude like you know what's going on with your deliveries, unless you're going to apologize for the customers inconvenience. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS HACK JOB ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN!!! Dano's in Plaistow, NH or Merrimac House of Pizza in Merrimac, MA here I come (they're a mile away and they deliver). They are true culinary experts. Lets give it up for all you sub shops in the Newton area who care about customer service. Ill say every shop EXCEPT Acio's has a wonderful family attitude and worth waiting for...Acio's, is not worth the wait. They are NOT small town friendly, and they deliver cold, soggy food with no care!! At least they get their money. That's all they're in it for it seems. read more

I've been to Acio's probably 30ish times (use to live within walking distance). The food is pretty bland, it's almost as though they don't season. The portions are defiantly smaller than you'd expect. The large calzones are 19.57 with tax and you don't get that much, there is always a lot of dough at the edges they don't fill to the very edge, there's usually a good 1 1/2- 2 inches of dough before you hit the filling. The burger dinners are really good though I must say, once in awhile its over cooked but depends on who's on I guess. The customer service would be decent, if they didn't have a few rude employees. The rude ones, you can tell if one of them helps you, just make it feel uncomfortable and almost unwelcome or annoyed by you. One of them, the mid 20's one with dark hair looks like she might be the daughter of someone who owns or runsit? She's the one I dislike the most. One time I was paying with a credit card and on the back I have SEE ID, she said "I'm not going to ask for your ID" I was puzzled but said ok, she than replied" do you want to know why? It's because it's not my problem if your card gets stolen" I was appalled! Not what I want to hear from a merchant who processes my credit card numer and name for a transaction. There is another women who works there that's mid 30's ish, she's very nice, she's the reason we still go there really. We just go back with cash only.
