This would have been a 4 out of 5 star review as 4 dishes out of 5 were good, but at the end of the day it's one star.
There is a misnomer on one of the dishes, 'PA BBQ Chicken', which was explained to my wife as '...shredded, off the bone, PA Dutch dish' - what was absent was the fact that there is no BBQ sauce.
As a traditional PA Dutch dish that will never change, but to 99.9% of the population BBQ suggests BBQ sauce being present. That was not the case here - it was shredded, boiled chicken- even my dog left it alone.
When I stopped by to express my concern that the name is misleading with the thought that a better description may help their small business, the young lady was nothing but defensive of it being a PA Dutch dish, argued that the dish is the dish and is traditional and could not change, and refused to listen or understand that "BBQ" has a generally accepted understanding in the world and that an unknown dish to the masses should be better described. That's all!
My experience is limited to working at 4 Star restaurants (twice) under Master Chefs, my wife has spent 40 years in Food and Beverage at one of the most respected hotel chains in the world, and my daughter who also chose the food industry had earned a Michelin star before she was 35 - so I am pretty sure Aces is not going to teach me or my family anything; but what Aces staff should learn is when you work in the service industry - the customer is always right - even if you give me the middle finger after I leave.
Needless to say I will not do business with them again, simply no need. read more
