What's the problem actually they keep my car for five days not calling me back. I called them and they told me we have to fix the couple stuff the bill me for $4200. I didn't have any choice. I already miss days of work They kept my car one week finally they call me to pick up the car , after a month I got the same problem All the signs was on again. I took my car back to them they said it's electrical problem they charge me for $600 again they kept my a week, I pick up my car after a week. Start driving after three weeks all the sign turn on again. Took my car to them. he told me we will check again and let you know three days no calls no update. I called them. They told me you have to change the fuel injector and oxygen sensor. I told the owner when I bring my car first time I told you this is the problem now I end up with the same problem. So far I pay $5200 and they were asking me for 4000 dollar on top. to change the fuel injector I was about to cry. I took my car came home. I can't pay $9200 in three months I ask them to give me the invoice what parts you change they told me we will send it by email. so I can take my car to the mechanic and explain what part we change but I didn't receive any email from them. Finally the new mechanic told me your engine is done. You have to put a new engine because from the start you had problem with fuel injector, and the gasket leak. To your engine so we have to put a new engine because the diagnose wrong and took $5200 and ruin the engine in my car please please don't go to this place!! owner is the meanest person he is not listening to you what you're saying.

Took me to the car, pointed out the problem (happened over the winter-5month period). At other times I've visited they tell me what needs to be done and what can wait. They are considerate and understanding that your time is valuable and finances are tight. If your complaining about how much time it takes any mechanic to fix your car know they want to make it right and safe. Your car is like a heart surgery patient - so don't blow a gasket unless you want to drive in a casket! Carcones is a family business and not a corporate entity like a dealership! Consider parts, weather and how busy it is on certain days or month or time of the year. They have car service too and happy to help! I was initially referred to by a coworker who's father has been using them for over 15 yrs. Lisa at the front desk knows her stuff and if she doesn't she gets a second opinion! She even wrote a letter for me discounting what CTire claimed what was wrong with my car and what they found so I can write a complaint about CT! What shop does that??? The auto shop does not take appointment for tire change and is on a first come first serve basis, so I walked in like all other people. When I said I was there for winter tire change, the person (I later found out his name was Joe) at the front desk said "So does the rest of Richmond Hill". He later said the wait would be 2 hrs and I said I would wait. When it was time to pay, I asked if there was a discount if I paid cash. His snarky response: "I should be charging you more for fitting you in". You did not have to fit me in. I could go elsewhere, on a different day. Both comments were uncalled for and very rude. I noticed that his attitude towards others (men) in the shop was different.

Maybe it was a mistake, but the response was to refund my credit card for the service?? It's not a refund if there was no service performed. I called the last shop to verify the make an model of the filter that they had installed and it's the one still installed (ACDelco). I called Midas and asked what filter they had installed and their records showed Purolator. I wanted more than a refund this is ridiculous, and possibly fraudulent. If it was a mistake then the fact that they overbook so much that this can happen is ridiculous. I have and sent them the pictures clearly showing this is not a new filter, but I got a refund on services not provided.

Save your money and go somewhere else. I initially brought my car in for a significant scraping and grinding noise. To their credit, they scanned it, the diagnostic tool flagged the actuator, and they replaced it, which fixed that specific initial issue. However, the real frustration started when I picked up the car. I immediately noticed a subtle, metal-on-metal scraping sensation right under the driver's side floorboards. I brought it right back. They confidently assured me the issue was just that the front brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. I trusted their expertise and gave them the go-ahead. $900 later, the scrapping under the floorboards are still completely there. It turns out the pads and rotors didn't even need replacing, and they were ultimately unable to diagnose or fix the actual mechanical problem. I am left with the belief that they rely on the "parts cannon" approach--throwing expensive new components at a problem and hoping something sticks when a computer screen isn't giving them step-by-step instructions. Bottom line: If your issue triggers a clear error code on a diagnostic computer, they can swap the part. If your issue requires actual manual inspection, mechanical intuition, or real troubleshooting, I recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere.

I took my car to John for an estimate to repair a door dent/scratch caused by another driver opening their door into mine. John tried to get me to scam the other driver and inflated the estimate with "additional costs" to cover a vehicle rental, which I never asked for. He claimed to be doing me a favor, but in hindsight I should have known that if he so nonchalantly tried to get me, a stranger, to scam someone else, it's likely he would do the same to me. He said if we didn't want to collect the "additional costs" that was up to us, and we would only pay the remaining costs on the estimate. I decided not to collect these "additional costs" for a vehicle rental, then when I went to drop off my car John demanded more money than what was on the estimate, giving me a "cash" price that was more than the original legitimate, tax-included price, or if I wanted a receipt he said I would have to pay an additional 16% even on top of that. He tried to get me to sign a blank work order, which I luckily did not, as I was unaware at that time of the troubles that can get you into.. I spoke with John the next day and he said a sprinkler went off in his shop and our repair job would take a little longer. He sent me pictures to corroborate this. When I went to pick up my car, the job was done horribly and John and his friend were watching me inspect it through the window. They had guilt and anger all over their faces and it was obvious they knew the job was done poorly but were hoping I wouldn't notice. I confronted John and pointed out that there was paint chipping in multiple places, a water drop pattern in the paint/clear coat all over the door (would not rub off, it was in the paint!), and brush marks etched into the door (again, it was in the paint/clear coat itself!). He became extremely hostile and was aggressively shouting and swearing at me, calling my car a piece of shit and saying I am an idiot. He threatened to "bang my car" If I didn't pay him immediately. After much back and forth and me calling the police, he agreed to repair the damages properly this time and said it would be done in two hours. After a few hours he calls to say the repair is complete. When we get there, low and behold there is still paint chipping. More arguing, name calling, and hostility from John. In the end we pay for his "repair work", since this is the only way to actually get your car back, and he again says he will make the car "better than new" if we aren't happy in 10 days. As we are pulling out we realize the lock on the door he was painting is now broken. The dealership (definitely not going back to John!) says the door lock actuator needs to be replaced. Summary: 1. Acted like a scammer from the beginning. Always exaggerating and making unrealistic promises and guarantees 2. Goes back on even the simple guarantees, his word means nothing. He even lied about his mother dying on the day of one of our encounters, and numerous other ridiculous things. 3. Knowingly did a poor job (the door looked worse after his first repair attempt than before we even brought it in..) and tried to intimidate me into accepting it. 4. Became extremely hostile and aggressive, shouting and swearing, when I refused to accept his poor work. 5. He even somehow managed to cause mechanical damage to my car, whether done purposefully or due to his lack of skills, I am not sure.

Their staff are the sweetest people, always making sure you are taken care of. They are also super transparent, keeping you updated throughout the process and ensuring that everything is within budget (without sacrificing quality ofc) On top of all that, the shop's guest area is always kept neat and tidy with some nice performance parts on display, there is also abundant seating area. They can do pretty much all mods and services, I would 100% recommend them to my friends and come back again when my car needs servicing. It makes sense how they have been around for decades and they will continue to be my favourite auto shop in the Scarborough area

I took my car here to get…read morea very expensive, high quality exhaust installed, The GReddy GT Catback for my 2008 G37 Coupe. $2,600CAD after shipping and as a 18 year old it is quite a big purchase. You'd expect that when you purchase something so expensive, and bring it to a pretty high end exhaust shop, you would get service that is appropriate to the price. These guys essentially destroyed the y-pipe and my stock catalytic converters by welding them together instead of taking the harder (but paid for job) and mounting them together by the flanges. after they are finished with this pathetic work they call high quality, they charged me $550. not only that, they took the gaskets I had provided them with, not a huge deal but always scheming for just a bit more right? Say goodbye to the resale or reusability value of my 400$ ypipe and $1000 cats. Welding might have been okay if it was mentioned and confirmed by me before doing it but they just went right ahead without my consent. I will never be coming back and will recommend EVERYONE I know to never set foot in your "store". If you want exhaust work done, do not come here. So many places will do it cheaper and properly. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
