I was driving with him and he had to pee. A gas station denied us a bathroom, CVS in Baldwin Harbor on Atlantic Ave denied us a bathroom and I yelled at them. So we walked into Ace. The employee said their bathroom was also down but that my son could use the employee bathroom. So I got my kid to the bathroom forever grateful to the Ace employee behind the counter. I don't know his name, but he deserves some kind of recognition and award for his kindness. After my son used the restroom we looked around and I ended up buying a candy bar just to give the store some business in return for their kindness. The employee was also extra nice because he listened to my son prattle on about our bathroom saga lol Ace I'm forever grateful to you!

She was my local superhero the other day. She saw me combing the isles and asked if I needed help. I told her what I needed and she then managed to cut the highest gauge chain they had available, using the stores finicky hydraulic cutting machine. At about 4 feet worth, it felt as heavy duty as my Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain that I currently have wrapped around my moped. And for only $29, t'was significantly cheaper. Oh and they never yell at me when I walk around the store with my bike or electric scooter in tow.

That's until I saw Ace Hardware of Bellmore pop up on my map only a few minutes away. Initially, I browsed the isles to no avail however after asking a very jovial, funny and down to the earth employee, she guided me directly to them. I picked up two, signed up for their loyalty rewards program and was on my way as one happy camper. I'm super excited to go camping and try out these bad boys as I cook some bacon, some eggs and even make some coffee! Shoutout to Ace for carrying these super convenient butane canisters!

Came back next day, no greeting...same guy, explained we were there the day before. Go back there(he points to the very back of store), see if they even have anything that small. Finally, the guy that helped me in the back said hi (wow!) he found what I needed and was great. Take it back in, met by a woman who never said a word, but was stuffing her mouth with a bagel and chewing as she handed me the receipt. Charming and warm motley crew.

Centre Millwork got its start maybe 80 years ago back in what was the industrial part of town. Mr. Roth, a local builder set up shop building kitchen cabinets. If you're a longtime Long Beach owner, you've seen his "Holiday Cabinets". After relocation by a corrupt urban renewal project. Centre got a new start at the foot of the Long Beach Bridge. For lumber and building materials, I simply wouldn't consider anywhere else. They have a great kitchen cabinet area where you'll pay significantly less for top quality stuff. Check out Centre Millwork. They're one of the nicest businesses in town and certainly among the fairest to their employees.
