This place raised some serious red flags for me. I was the third person in line whose car didn't pass, and the two cars ahead of me were also told they failed their smog tests. Seeing three vehicles in a row fail makes you start questioning what's really going on. I understand CARB regulations can be strict, but the process here feels questionable. You still have to pay the full test fee, then come back and pay again (or pay a reduced retest fee) after supposedly fixing the issue. When multiple customers are being told they failed back-to-back, it starts to feel less like coincidence and more like a pattern. I'm not saying every failure is wrong, but based on my experience and what I saw with the other customers ahead of me, I'd strongly recommend getting a second opinion before spending your money here. read more

Had a great experience here. I looked at there reviews , there are individuals who will speak negative on shop trying to make it , some individuals will have a bad experience, For me I had a great experience, not to mention I called last minute just before closing time , and they waited for me to Smog my truck ...I was very pleased with the fast experience and fair pricing considering I had drive a big truck and it's hard for most to operate it in tight spaces, This crew made IT happen. Thanks , Definitely my go to now... read more

Felt like I was scammed...I was the 3rd person in line to check in. First customer had a Subaru and was charged $60 The next customer a corolla and was charged $70. I was scratching my head why...it's a computer test, same for every car....my price for a 2015 Nissan Rogue...$80!!!!! I guess the price depends if you look like you'll pay it or not. read more

Friendly, excellent and fast service. Air conditioning in the waiting room. But no worries, you won't wait long!!!!

Amazing place to get a smog! Quick, easy and friendly! Javier, at the front desk was delightful and kind! I really recommend bringing your car here. Waiting room was nicely air conditioned and clean, older gentleman who performed the smog test was quick and efficient read more

Coupons not honored by the owner. Coupon is for 28.75 but they charge 52.00 for a car. They say the ownership changed but as you can see in other reviews, this is what they always claim. read more

Fast and friendly. Comfortable waiting area. Price was comparable and reasonable to other centers in the area.

this place sucks man. I called them they told me if I didn't pass I wouldn't have to pay so I took my car down and had it smiled when it didn't pass they still charge me $53 said to drive my car for 40 miles and bring it back and pay more money! There's a place up the street Norco Smog that charges 50 bucks ( But only if you pass like it SHOULD Be, and not just for pretend purposes like tje "ACEholes" at ACE Smog) . You don't pass you don't pay I don't know if they're under new ownership or what but these guys are really crooks man. Their service sucks. The guy was a total jerk says oh drive your car for 40 miles come back and if it doesnt pass pay us another 50 bucks!? You know what you can kiss ACE SMOG!! invoice 71972 read more

They charge double of every other place around. I recommend going to green smog check just down the street.

I needed to smog my 1999 Miata. Because of the year, it needs to go on a dyno. A lot of shops have machines that are down and finicky. They were able to smog my car and it took about 20 mins. Passed with flying colors. Cost me $67 but worth it. The kid at the front desk was cool too. Worked for me. read more

Son bought his first used car so we had to get it tested before registering it. First time it wasn't "ready' so we had to put some more miles into it. Came back and he double checked to make sure that the car was in a ready state to do the smog testing. I just had to pay $22 for that so I'm pleased and happy with this place. 2nd time being here and they've always been good and reasonably priced read more

I've used Ace Smog before and have been hit several times with an extra $10 fee just because the vehicle being sniffed was a truck. They literally do nothing different with a truck. In fact one of them I had previously brought in was a Nissan and had the exact same engine some of the Nissan sedans did. But still they up-charge for a truck. I previously paid it just because it was close to my house and convenient, but no more. Norco Smog is a stones throw away and doesn't stick you for extra charges. read more

Well this place over charges 30.00 compared to other shops. Stopped by yesterday and the guy said $70.00 for a smog check. What a joke !!! read more

Checked their website before I went their and their prices were comparable to others. I have been there previously. It appeared that the ownership has changed. Didn't recognize anyone from previous visit. She quoted me a price that was almost double what is advertised (the pictures on this site are not accurate). When I pointed out that the yellow pages website advertised something different she said that wasn't them. When I showed her thE website proving it was, she relented and charged me the advertised price. I hope more people check the yellow pages or yelp because this business is doing their best to cheat people of their hard earned money with false advertisement. read more

Ok I have been having my cars smog here for over a year and never had a problem with them passing or the customer service. Now the place isn't much to look at and the waiting room looks like a run down flop house but the service is friendly and professional. During my last visit after reading the last post I read the banners they have posted everywhere. These banners are old and have been up for as long as I can remember. They all say if you use the special or a coupon there is NO FREE re inspection. It is clear as day! If you want a good cheap smog test this is the place to go. Never a wait and never an issue. I always read every coupon before I try to use it. Don read more

Worst place I have ever been to. They treat the customers horribly. Do not go to them. The guy at the desk is rude, unprofessional and extremely immature. read more

I have never had a problem here until I sent my daughter in to get a smog. First a 16 year old had to show them how to open the hood on a 1998 Jeep. Then she was told it had no CARB EO number found on after market Catalytic Converter so it did not pass. She was told to take it down the street for repairs and when she left there the check engine light came on. This is strange when this Jeep has passed smog for 22 year without a problem. We took it to a shop we have been to many times and it pass smog on the first try and there is no after market Catalyic Converter on this car and the EO numbers were on the converter. We were scammed out of $49.75 BEWARE read more

The young gentleman doing the test is extremely rude, I didn't mind that they are pricier than anywhere else in IE but customers service is zero. The fact that they have so much foot traffic from DMV being across the street that should be very thankful for the business not very cranky. Not coming back here again. Just drive few lights down you'll get better service guaranteed. read more

This place uses deceptive advertising! Read the small print on the coupon advertisement. The man in charge told me that the cost would be $62. I came in on a $29.75 advertisement. $10 upcharge for a truck; $8.25 cert. fee and the kicker $14.00 STAR CERTFIED FEE! While I was waiting I looked up if a business could charge xtra because DMV requires you to go to a Star Certified. The answer is DMV does not mandate what to charge, an owner can charge his own fees. The problem was how the owner handled it, he presented to me that the $14 up charge was DMV sanctioned because he was STAR CERTIFIED. Not the case! A good business person would just tell you his price and provide a service that compliments his service. I walked out and took my business down the street! YELP doesn't allow negative stars, Should be - "Certified" rating not a 1 ! read more

These people clearly don't know what they are doing. Went there to get my ford cargo van smog and right after 10 minutes they say it wont pass because the catalytic converter was tampered since it did not have a sticker that could be visible. I have never heard anyone mention about a sticker being important otherwise I would try to clean or at least make it some what visible. Obviously I had to pay. Took it to the next smog station would say 500-1000 feet of that shop and it passed within 5 minutes no problem. I asked them if there was such thing as a sticker being visible owner just shrugged as like if I was asking something that was never heard before. I would give no stars for the Ace Shop. Highly recommend the shop next door. Don't waste your money on this one read more

I didn't waste my time. I came in with a coupon, and was told it was going to be an extra $10 just because it's a truck. I asked why. The minion behind the counter just said it's a weight fee the owner collects. Collects for what? Are you putting my truck on a rack that costs more for heavy vehicles? No? Then why do you need an extra $10 for a 1/2 ton truck? All they're doing is sticking a hose up my trucks tail pipe and sniffing around. I know it's a bit more complicated, but at least have a clue about why you want more money for a specific vehicle. Wont be back... read more

So fast. So friendly, I was able to check-in with Yelp and saved 5.00. Will be taking all my vehicles there moving forward!

I used a coupon that was supposed to bring the price of a smog check down to 31.95+smog cert.(out the door for 40 from the usual $52 with free retest) but my car didn't pass on first try since we just changed the battery in it (the computer didn't sync back up yet). So a logical person would assume that I would just be forced to pay the usual price of $52 once I got the retest after driving around to re-sync the computer, however they penalized me for using a coupon and not passing and I was forced to pay $68.75 Why should I be penalized for using a coupon?? DO NOT GO HERE! read more

These guys are a ripoff!!!, I needed a smog check for 1989 Honda Accord.. they were charging 85.00.. I ask why so much?.. the tech said it was a older car.. some B.S. about having to do something different?? I called another place down the street, he was only charging 60.00.. I really can't stand facilities like that try to make an extra buck.. Save your hard earned money and go somewhere else!! read more

I should have read the Yelp reviews before I go to this Ace Smog Center. Indeed, it uses deceptive advertising with fine prints. Read clearly on their coupon "STAR Extra". They just charge you with the full price deduct $10 for bring in the coupon, but it's still a lot higher than other stations for the same STAR Certified Smog Test. Definitely recommend go somewhere else. read more

Went here in 2012 and paid about $30 and was very happy. This month I went in with coupon $28.75 + 8.25 certificate = $37.00. For the last 4 years this has been my go to place for smog. With the coupon I am out the door for $40.00. Today I walk in and they told me $72 bucks. I showed them the coupon and she replied, "you did not tell me that", along with a dirty look. They came back and said we can do it for $50 bucks. I told them to pound sand. Went down the street and got it done for $43 bucks. I highly recommend not going to ACE. read more

Do not take car here for smog check, even with coupon rip off. Poor service practices.

Fast, 20 minutes max, courteous friendly service as always. Been bringing my vehicles here for years.

I went there because I had a coupon for an $28.75 smog check. Now, it is $10.00 more for the SUV I have so I understood that. They added another $8.25 certificate fee and then added another $10.00 "Star Smog" fee. In all I ended up paying $58.00. The only reason I went there is because my car failed the first test (I had a bad sensor). My usual place (In Glendora) only charges about $30.00 with no added fees. Ace Smog is closer to my house and I had to get it done in order to avoid late fees for my tags. Don't go here... You'll end up paying a crap ton of money. Customer service is sub-par as well. read more

Very unsatisfied with their service I believe they're bunch of crooks and rip off artist they tell you passer don't pay he go back and they say I'm sorry too late they asked me to go put some miles on the vehicle and then when I returned they said it was too late...... You have to pay full price I refused I went somewhere else much better service elsewhere save your money stay away from the crooks read more

BEWARE, this place will take your money even you don't pass the smog test. I brought my car for a smog test with an engine lights on and they proceeded to performed the smog test knowing I will fail the testing. These people don't have the decency to do the right thing to advice me that I am going to fail. In addition to the original fee which they already collected, I still have to pay another fee for retesting and certificate. STAY AWAY from this place and take your business elsewhere to a REPUTABLE company. read more

GIVE SOMEONE ELSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, SOMEONE WHO DESERVES THE BUSINESS! PLEASE READ! Not an honest business man at all! Feel free to contact me for proof or if you question my legitimacy... Charged me full price for a smog AND certificate. All for something that takes a real smog guy 30 seconds to check before he gets started, then didn't follow through on his commitment to me when I came back for the retest. My vehicle gets smogged through it's computer, but it has to have a certain amount of history, and because I just replaced the battery, it did not have enough history and could not be passed... Fine, but I had multiple smog guys tell me this is something they check first AND would not charge me if that was the issue, or that they would charge me the first time, but give me a re-test when I got enough time put onto the vehicle. (Obviously found out after ACE smog charged me and something didn't seem right) So this place charges me as if it were a full smog, after sitting around his shop for over two hours (originally 40min estimate), then explains the issue to me (not near as knowledgeable as the other smog guys I talked to) and to come back and he would give me a "really" good price on the re-test. So I go back for the retest, and he quotes me the same damn full price from the first visit, AFTER I HAD TO ASK HIM THREE TIMES HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE (he was trying to do the work before giving me a price!!!!!) AND after knowing he already screwed me by charging the way he did the first time. I then tell him if he does business that the way, I'll take it down the street to someone/anyone else. He could have cared less and walked off immediately with zero explanation, knowing he already had my full smog money for 30 seconds of work on his part from the previous time. This guy is garbage and his place is a mess, take it to someone who is honest and works hard, even if you have to pay more (which you won't). I happily paid a place a few hundred yards away, $10 less to re smog and was out of there in less than 15 minutes. Oh, AND THE NEW PLACE I TOOK IT TO TOLD ME IN 30 SECONDS, BEFORE THE SMOG, THAT IT COULD BE COMPLETED, THAT THERE WAS ENOUGH HISTORY, AND THEN DID THE WORK LIKE A GOOD SMOG PLACE SHOULD, UNLIKE ACE SMOG!!!!! read more
