The experience could have been improved by maintaining steady engagement throughout the appointment, allocating the agreed-upon time primarily to reflexology, and not stopping while doing the massage multiple times. I decided to try North County Spa for the first time. I like how I can schedule an appointment online, and they seem to have multiple time slots throughout the day. Parking was pretty plentiful on a weekday, but may get a bit more busy during the weekend since there is a buffet right across from them. I chose the 90min full body massage, and selected the deep tissue massage vs the Swedish. They do not specify the therapists' names, nor can you select male vs female online when scheduling your appt. However, when you arrive, they will ask if you prefer a male vs female therapist, which is nice. I arrived 20min early, and expected to wait inside the lobby until my appt time, but the front desk staff member was very pleasant and she said it wasn't a problem, and assisted me. Since I was a new client there, she had me complete a 2-sided form (simple) with my contact info + consent. The consent form essentially listed the benefits and potential consequences of massage therapy (e.g., bruising for deep tissue if one is more prone to bruise). I also liked that they specified that their establishment does not offer any sexual services, since there have been many massage parlors/spas that have shut down because they offered such services. I felt safe and comfortable. You can also choose a diffuser scent (e.g., I chose eucalyptus) for your room. Room was clean and dimmed enough for you to relax. My massage therapist, Eva, was very good. I had pretty severe neck and bilateral shoulder/trapezius pain, and she focused on those aspects. Hot stones were added without an additional charge. After the massage, I felt so much lighter and less tensed. That's how you know the massage was good and effective! She also communicated just enough, which was nice. Would recommend Eva! The front female staff member was also very nice and welcoming. Will likely return!
