ive been coming here for years,,,,i usually find what i need every time. however, i'm very disappointed with this business. i went to get a part from a vehicle...in which it was only "one" of. paid to get in, went to get the part and it was not in the vehicle. how can you not keep an inventory on the items sold? what a waist of time and money.....imagine how many people loose their money becasue a part has already sold. the cashier should be able to tell you if the item has sold especially if they can ask you what part are you looking for. at least allow a entrence pass for another time if they won't refund a blank trip. read more

I give this experience five stars. This morning, I took a side road which had an expected road sign. I was afraid Id hit the light of the sign and swerved but my mirror cracked from an already lose unit. I needed a mirror and fast under $25. At my nail Solon, a young lady suggested this pick and pull. Entry is $4 no matter what. Definitely wear shoes you don't care about and wear gloves . Step to the window and tell them why you're there. Pay admit $4 in cash but charge is okay when your find the part you need. $2 extra for card. I only had a par of pliers and a few men giggled and asked asked how I would get it off the car. I was handed apiece of paper, after doing research on the site ahead of time for the car and year I needed to match. My row was 144. It was a long sledge walk in slides ( I was fed up with calling around at that point). I found the row , and some comical roasts along the way ( see photo) but the actual models that fit my car were destroyed or already taken. I found a similar model that seemed to fit the measurements .. until I got back to my car. The part was $4. I paid in cash. I was given a receipt but told the part is as is. Posted photo after I ordered correct size from Amazon. I just did this temp. So I wouldn't get pulled over, and I need to see my blind spots!! read more

What had happened was.... After asking 2 employees, I was told it would be $43 for a 28 spline shaft from a 1978 GM 10 bolt rear axle. I spent two days removing it, first day it rained. I was so happy when I finally separated the rusty old spline from a bad differential that had a broken pinion lock bolt! I was overjoyed and thought I was back on the road. Then, on my way out they said $183?! You have to pay for the whole rear end?! WTF? I spoke to the manager, who refused to honor their initial quote. Turns out they no longer sell some parts separately. Ok, but why was I told $43 prior to pulling the part? Incomplete price list confusing their own employees? Maybe they thought it was an independent suspension part? All I know is, I bought a 28 spline shaft at Ace before and it was $32, but that was 1994 when they answered the phone with clear consistent prices as there was no acepickapart.com and a 30 spline didn't exist yet... I don't want anyone to lose their job. I begged them to meet me in the middle at $83 (their listed price for a complete dead axle) and they closed the sales window. Other real men were in line with me, or I would have cried. I set down the 47 year old part and walked away. I left (waving goodbye with 1 finger) and ordered a brand new one from Advanced Auto Parts for $90. Is Ace still locally family owned, or is it now Acme? Maybe junior recently inherited Ace and he has never wrenched? I have always loved this place and they have always been fair before. I'm too old to be working in this heat, paying gas and entry for 2 days for no reason VS forced to also buy the grenaded differential. If you're smart you'll bring a wagon with big wheels so that you can talk your tools because the yard is huge. You know what's going to happen when you get there and that is that the car you need will be at the very back which is like a mile away from the gate. They have a great crazy huge selection of cars basically everything you can think of they have it there. The staff is nice and they have sales all the time. They also have this email thing where you can sign up so that whenever they bring a new version of what you're looking for on to the lot they will send you an email and sometimes even a picture. Their speaker in the back doesn't work so after pulling parts for 6 hours in the baking sun they told me I couldn't pay for my items and come back tomorrow. Come back tomorrow to a junkyard. As if I'm not already having car trouble. The staff is rude. The blonde haired kid would have got beat up every day at my school. If you are like me you probably order your parts online or at the dealership. I think the only time I have ever stepped foot on a junkyard was with my pops when I was really young, but that's also doubtful. Speaking of online - You can check their inventory on their website. They will refer you to their website if you call regarding availability of a vehicle. This junkyard is closer to the Jacksonville zoo. Plenty of parking and they even have handicap parking. You can bring your own tools but they have signs posted that says you can't bring in your own parts, not sure how enforced that policy is. Entry is $4(cash only?) and the entrance is similar to walking into a prison, not that I have been. I came here looking for a Nissan Titan, 2 the website stated was in stock. The person I handed the payment to did not know where the Titans were and I don't blame him because as soon as I entered the yard I felt like I walked for miles until I realized what the heck was going on. They separate the vehicles by types such as cars, trucks, vans, SUVs... Well, for the most part but not by region. After 30 or so minutes of walking the yard I found the first Titan or what was left of it. The assembly I needed was still there but it wasn't the right kind. After another 30 minutes of walking and about to give up I found the other Titan which was nowhere near the first one. The whole assembly was gone and so was my luck. I think going forward if I need the part I'll go if the vehicle is still "newer" to the yard as some of these vehicles get gutted fairly quickly. I walked out empty and defeated. Side tip: I dressed in something to get dirty in but 30% of the walk area was muddy puddles. I wore my training shoes and had chunks of mud on them. Bring an extra pair of shoes and a bag if you don't want your mats dirty. Water boots are recommended. read more

I recently needed a part for my 17 year old car. The auto parts store and online warehouse stores could not provide what I needed at a reasonable cost. After brief research, I found two in Jacksonville. You Pullit, and Ace pick a part. Although Ace Pick a Part was 4$ to enter in and Jax Upullit a buck less at 3$, I chose Ace. Pulling into the dirt lot full of customer cars, I found it quite simple to start my part search. The attendant ask which car type and gives you a list of where to find the junkers. You bring your own tools and take a provided wheel barrow if needed and start your search. Peruve the lot, find your part and remove it. Take it up to the exit desk and get your cost. They do not provide a parts or cost list over the phone and the website is also no good for most parts. My best recommendation is to price a part brand new and then ensure you bring or have this amount available. By pulling your part, you will save substantially no matter the part. Some are prepulled and priced at the yard like starters, alternators, and a few others. Always ask in advance at the entry gate. If you need to pull a motor, they have an engine hoist for loan. Need a rim or tire, they have a tire/rim separator. With the US/China trade tarriff battle, it is wise to get your parts at least available cost. Some have warranties and other parts do not. You can't call them and ask do they still have the part because they don't care, You have to come and see for yourself and girl at check in said it shows the tailgate when it came in. I asked do veterans get in free because Go-Pull_it doesn't charge Veterans , Active Duty or First responders, she said no everyone pays. I asked if you don't have the tailgate then do I get My entrance fee back and she said no , everyone pays. I walked back to rear of yard and found truck and no only did it not have a tailgate it was missing the complete bed. This place has an awesome selection of cars. This was my first time to a pick-a-part place. As long as you keep in mind the tools you'll need and bring them, it'll be fine. They had 3 2000 Nissan Sentras at the time, which happened to have all the pieces I needed. I took off a sun visor, door latch cover, and third thing that I can't quite remember, but they threw it in for free with the purchase of the visor and latch cover. I went here to get a bumper for my van, which I did, paid for it and left.A week later I am checking my credit card statement, and they have charged me twice under two different company names. I called the administration department and she told me I would have to bring the receipt in to get my money back. I told her that i lived over 30 miles away and I shouldn't have to do that and they should make the adjustment. She reinterated that I would have to bring the receipt in. Again I told her they were the ones that had made the mistake, i had all the information on the receipt and...she hung up on me. I have since disputed the charge. My advice .DO NOT LET THEM HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD. NOT ONLY WAS THIS DECEPTIVE, (They also charge you 3% to use it which is also unreasonable). Color me confused. I never thought I would feel compelled to write a review about a "sell your dead car and get some money" place, but the process was so seamless I was in awe. I thought *everything* auto related was akin to calling customer service to a cable company but Ace Pick A Part was SO EASY! Nearly immediately after I entered my defunct car information online to get an estimate (make/model/year) I received a phone call quoting me ten dollars more than another competitor in town. I didn't even need my lost car title! Pickup time tomorrow? Yes, they can! The lady said it was going to be between 8-11 AM on a Saturday morning and I was wondering if that was in "cable repair man time." However, the tow truck driver arrived soon after his confirmation phone call at 9 AM . He was the most polite and gracious gentle man I have met in the south. I was delightfully surprised. They wrote me a check that was post-dated two months from the current date. Also, I had to take the check to their bank to try to cash it. Their bank wanted my social security number, mother's maiden name, etc, as well as a fee of $5, to cash the check. None of this was what we agreed to. The lot it's self isn't bad, it's the staff. They don't explain rules, their staff tells you that you can tie stuff up as long as it's within the junk yard and then when you go to "carry"it out they want you to dead lift and kill your back to prove a point without the ties they told you could have. Another friend did the deadlift and carried the bulk of items across the line. It was then time to carry the rest of the items. The owner told me to "dump the bag of bolts in the seat " that was to be carried by the person who was actually buying the parts. When I got upset about possibly losing his job bolts he proceeded to lie and say he didn't say it. Then he proceeded to mock me and call ME a liar in front of numerous patrons saying I said they were my parts. He then tried to tell all of us that we couldn't buy anything and tried to refuse us service for our items and what was already carried. . When I told him I was contacting news for jax and wanting his name, he walked away and requested I leave the property. Now, as a human being, I have never in my life ever been treated this way by a business. I was there to help pull parts for a friend.None of the parts were mine. When he realized just how badly he handled this situation, he told the men I was with he would sell them the parts another time. I refused that as an answer and so did they. They got their parts with me leaving the property but I will go to other yards and recommend them over ace every time from now on. A happy person tells 7 people....an angry one tells everyone. I took a friend there to get a wheel; I had found this salvage yard on the internet. they have you sign papers, copy your driver's license, then you pay $3.00 PER PERSON. We told them what we came for; a woman told us they had one. Their system is set up with numbers which they didn't explain; we had to figure it out for ourselves. My friend is 82 with bad hips & knees; we had to walk to the end of the junkyard about 400 yards in heat & dust. He gave out. When we finally found the area, there was no wheel. We walked all the way back to the office, told them about it; they said they don't keep an inventory; it wasn't there & they would not give us a refund. BEWARE of this place!!!! read more
