Honestly I regret not writing this sooner but I should have because I personally had the best experience with this shelter. My partner and I were looking for a cat to keep our DIFFICULT cat company. When I say difficult, I mean AGGRESSIVE and bitey and clingy. We communicated all this to Tina and Eesha when we were interested in a specific cat. They advised us to consider another cat, a younger one they were more familiar with that they thought would be a better fit for a dominant cat. It was rough introducing them but Tina and Eesha were so helpful and were there for us for the entire process during our trial adoption. They really knew the kitties they had and what they needed and understood our needs as well. When we eventually decide to adopt a third, AKRF will be the first place I check. I was interesting in a lynx point Siamese kitten offered through Ace, which I saw on Petfinders. I filled out an application and sent them a message. "Fiona" was listed as friendly, affectionate, curious, in her headline. Her bio says she is Affectionate, Athletic, Brave, Couch, Curious, Friendly, Funny, Gentle, Loves, Loyal, Playful, Smart...all the things I was hoping for in a new kitten. I am an experienced cat owner, work from home, and met all the typical adoptive parent qualifications. Never heard back from Ace, so followed up a few days later with a message through Petfinders. No answer. I googled Ace for a phone number and called. The woman who answered was very rude and unprofessional. She asked me how I got this number. I told her I found it on the Internet. I told her why I was calling that I was interested in adopting Fiona. She said she was busy and would call me back but never did. I followed up with another email. Crickets. I filled out a second application and still did not hear anything after a couple of weeks. I gave up and found another kitten through a much more organized and professional rescue organization. I've dealt with several rescue organizations in the Bay Area and have never been ignored by anyone except for Ace. Beware of this organization. When I made a complaint through Petfinders about the lack of response and professionalism of Ace, I finally got a message from them saying that it turned pretty little Fiona was not good with other cats. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fur-baby to join their family. AKRF will guide you through the adoption process and remains engaged with you and your kitty. They'll always be there for you! I was introduced to Ace Kitty Rescue when I desperately needed assistance to trap a feral Mom and her kittens from a dangerous location on Tully Road. Tina was extremely responsive to the situation resulting in mom being TNR'd, kittens fixed and adopted out by SJACS. I am now a volunteer for this small but wonderful local organization. We were initially told by Tina and Lauren that we were approved to adopt Yuzu, only to later be told they weren't moving forward due to the cat being "needy." We were transparent about our timeline from the start, and would've appreciated honest communication if it wasn't a fit. Instead, we were given false hope and then met with silence. This lack of professionalism and follow-through was disappointing. While we respect the mission of rescuing animals, our experience with Ace Kitty Rescue Force was frustrating and disheartening. read more

I had a very disappointing and honestly unprofessional experience ATTEMPTING to adopt from this agency. We interviewed and called on the phone AND agreed on a date to do a trial adoption. I then try to reach out and get answers for a week, while being told they were getting back to me. Come to find out (a week before I was supposed to get her) I'm told the new foster home she is in has expressed interest in adopting her and they requested that the adoption be put on hold. I don't think they would have told me this had I not pestered them for an answer. Lo and behold the foster gets her despite the fact that I had been there first and had a date set. I'm sure others understand how upsetting it is to get your hopes up, especially when a date has been set and an agreement made, and then have the cat go somewhere else. I just think it's upsetting, disappointing, and unprofessional. read more

I had an incredibly frustrating and emotionally draining experience with Ace Kitty Rescue, particularly due to a complete lack of transparency, professionalism, and respect in how my case was handled. I initially fostered two kittens from the rescue around January 11th and had them with me for exactly 11 days. I wanted to adopt them, but they refused to allow it because the kittens were not yet spayed or neutered. Both had respiratory infections when I took them in, so I had to syringe-feed them medicine daily--something entirely new to me, but I did it diligently for their well-being. They were getting better. One of my first interactions with the agency's poor coordination was when we scheduled a Zoom call for the first weekend I had the kittens. I sent a message an hour before just to confirm, only to be told they had forgotten to put it on their calendar. When I suggested rescheduling to Monday since I was heading out, they insisted on doing it that same day because "it would be too late"--which was odd, considering they hadn't even remembered the appointment in the first place. I accommodated them and did the call that afternoon. On top of that, throughout the process, I was repeatedly pushed to buy specific items--being told to purchase a 52-inch cat tree and other supplies--before even confirming my adoption. During that call was the first time I met Tina, the manager of the agency. They mentioned that we could schedule the kittens for spaying the following Friday, but only if they were healthy enough. We agreed to reassess by Wednesday. When Wednesday arrived, the kittens were still sneezing (they had gotten much better than day 1 but still they were sneezing), so I messaged the rescue to inform them. The next morning, I received a call stating that the appointment had already been booked, and if I didn't show up, it would cost them $200. I understand that vet appointments are important, but from that moment on, everything started feeling like it was more about money than the well-being of the kittens. When I expressed concern and suggested rescheduling if they weren't fully recovered, the response was hostility instead of reasonable discussion. Tina even accused of not trusting the rescue--when in reality, I was simply prioritizing the kittens' health. Despite my clear concerns, I was pressured to bring them in immediately, even though I was heading to work. I held my ground and ultimately dropped them off Thursday evening when I was actually available. After that, everything spiraled further downhill. On Monday, I was initially told I could take the kittens back home after their procedure and when I asked if I can come pickup on Monday evening, Tina said she had a headache and asked me to come Tuesday, but by Tuesday, the agency changed its mind without clear communication. When I followed up on Wednesday to ask if they would reconsider they said yes, but then never got back to me. I heard nothing until Friday evening when I finally went in person after communicating first, and all Tina told me was that it could take "days or months" to make a decision and was "not obliged" to answer. Saying yes one day, no the next, then maybe the day after, only to follow up with "it will take a long time to decide," felt like they were playing with my emotions rather than making an actual decision. It was a simple yes or no answer--but the way they handled it was unnecessarily cruel. Finally, I never heard back about their decision, and I was forced to ask for my pet carrier back. By that point, I had reached a state where, even if I got the kittens back, the thought of dealing with someone like Tina made me rethink if I actually wanted them back. I started asking for my pet carrier back on February 14th, and they finally dropped it off on March 1st. In between, I was repeatedly ghosted, and at one point, Tina dismissively said she'd just Venmo me the money because she didn't have time to drop it off. I even offered to pick it up myself, but I was still ignored. What they didn't understand was that the carrier was my last memory of the kittens. Instead of acknowledging that, Tina assumed it was all about money, showing an appalling level of insensitivity. Finally another volunteer stepped in and dropped it off because Tina was very busy. I fully support the vision and mission of the rescue, and I deeply respect the work they do for animals. However, it's people like Tina--because of their attitude and unprofessionalism--who are driving away good adopters who genuinely want to provide loving homes. In any industry that involves working with people, especially one as emotionally sensitive as animal rescue, this kind of behavior and rudeness is unacceptable and unsustainable. read more

Ace kitty rescue offered to help me when my mama cat had kittens..one wasn't latching and doing well. Ace ended up keeping all my kittens and mama cat and refusing to return them to me. Ace Kitty Rescue stole my cats!!!On April 6th our Princessa had five cute little kittens. One was having a hard time and we reached out to a friend to help us. We wanted to help Lucky try to survive. To our dismay the "friend" we reached out to gave our beautiful Princessa and her babies to a rescue she volunteers at to try and help the baby. Since then we found out Lucky didn't make it. When I asked for Princessa and her other four babies to be returned we were denied access. I was told they were not going to return our beloved cat and babies but that they would spay/nueter mama and babies and then adopt them out. Ace Kitty Rescue has now stolen our babies and refuses to give them back!! We have reached out to the local authorities however I want to get the word out so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Please don't adopt, or work with Ace Kitty Rescue Force. We are experienced cat owners. our last two died recently and we wanted to adopt two siblings again. Other rescue groups contacted us right away and said we had an extremely strong application. WE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM ACE KITTY RESCUE. I even checked my spam folder daily to be sure I didn't miss anything. We adopted two wonderful kittens and are very happy with how that organization handled it all. There was such a striking difference between all the other groups and Ace Kitty Rescue. The most unprofessional rescue operation. My grandpas 18 or so year old cat passed away a few years ago and he was finally ready to find a new companion to share his love with. We found the prettiest but most timid cat on their website and we wanted to give her a chance. 2 females, ( pretty sure a mom and daughter) came and gave us a 2 week trial period for the kitty. She was very scared at first but after a few days of waiting around, sitting by her, and generally waiting til she was comfortable she finally started to give him and myself (granddaughter) so much love. We were finally getting to see her personally and she was perfect, more than we could ask for. After around 2 weeks they came back to check on her understandably. We also decided that we wanted to trim her nails so that's what they also came to do. The kitty was scared and hit under the couch and as they were pulling her out, her nail got caught and started bleeding. The women took that kitty with my grandpas carrier and took her to the vet. They told us she would be on antibiotics and they wanted to do the treatment. That's fine. But they kept in contact very little with almost no updates, my grandpa was very worried about her health. After a week passed my grandpa offered to give the rest of the treatment because he's completely capable and a experienced cat owner and they completely ghosted us. No updates. Not even something saying the cat wasn't available anymore. These people are selfish, inconsiderate, and downright unprofessional. I do not recommend this company to anyone. read more
