After going through the adoption process and being able to see and learn about the cats' personalities, I decided to adopt this chonker cat Pinto. It did require a thorough vetting process for adoption, but I was able to foster for a short period to see if she would like my house and my other cat. I adopted two cats from Town Cats, and both developed significant medical issues shortly after I brought them home. One ultimately passed away only a month after adoption, and the other continues to require ongoing medical care. After this experience, I feel it is important to share my concerns about the level of medical screening and transparency I experienced. Town Cats has an adoption process and adoption fee that, in my mind, comes with the expectation that there has been a meaningful level of medical evaluation and care. If I wanted to simply take a chance on whether a cat appeared healthy at a glance, I could have gone to a more traditional shelter. I chose Town Cats because I expected more, and unfortunately, my experience has not matched that expectation. I adopted Fern in mid-July after going through an extensive application and interview process. About one month later, I came home from work and found her collapsed and mildly unresponsive. I immediately took her to an emergency hospital, where I spent approximately six hours with her before she was transferred to a specialty clinic the following day. Despite everyone's efforts, Fern did not make it. The testing performed at the emergency and specialty hospitals showed that Fern was severely anemic and had very low red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The veterinarians believed she likely had a serious bone marrow disease, potentially leukemia, but because of how critical she was, we were never able to obtain a definitive diagnosis. Losing her so suddenly was devastating. After Fern passed, I reached out to Town Cats because I wanted to understand what medical evaluation had been performed before her adoption. I was told that Fern had not received bloodwork, FeLV/FIV testing, or additional diagnostic testing while in their care. I was also told that no bloodwork or additional testing had been performed around the time of her spay because there was no clinical indication to do so at the time. I understand that no shelter can guarantee an animal will never become sick after adoption. I also understand that cats can develop illnesses that are impossible to detect beforehand. What is difficult for me to accept is the idea that because a cat looks healthy and does not display obvious clinical symptoms, additional evaluation isn't necessary. Anyone who has owned a cat knows how exceptionally well they can hide illness, sometimes until they are critically sick. Unfortunately, Fern was not my first experience with this. When I adopted Juju from Town Cats, she was found to have severe stomatitis and gingivitis and needed several teeth removed because she was in significant pain. She has also had other health problems that are ongoing and continue to require care. Having this happen with one adopted cat would have been heartbreaking. Having it happen with both cats I have adopted from the same shelter is incredibly frustrating. I am not saying that Town Cats could have necessarily diagnosed Fern's illness or prevented her death with additional testing. I simply believe that when adopters are paying a premium adoption fee and going through an extensive adoption process, there is a reasonable expectation that the animals have received a thorough medical evaluation and that adopters are being given a clear picture of what has and has not been evaluated. I loved Fern deeply, and losing her so soon after bringing her home was incredibly painful. I hope Town Cats continues to improve its medical screening and transparency, because prospective adopters deserve to know exactly what they are paying for and what has actually been done medically before they bring an animal home. read more

I've intended to write this review for far far too long. An unbelievable 2 months ago now I adopted a sweet little 10 month kitten known as poppy. I'd come to look at a different kitten and realized very fast they would not be a good fit. Before leaving though the wonderful team Jamie and (name I cannot recall unfortunately) inquired as to why I was looking for in a cat. They suggested I look at poppy. I met poppy and slowly started falling in love. And I say slowly. The wonderful team at town cats allowed me to sit with her for almost an hour and a half, letting me know I could think about it and come back or adopt her that day. In the end I pulled the trigger and said YES. Best decision I ever made. They offered, at my request, to provide a small amount of her current food and I picked up her current litter. They also allowed me to come pick up my new little lady love after they had technically closed, to allow me to pick up the last few remaining items from the nearest pet store. Their team also answered my inquiries over the next week about my concerns regarding her transitioning into her new home Poppy, now named Calliope or Caya for short, gets a long amazingly with her fellow 2 human human housemates, and canine and feline housemates, and spends much of her day with her adoptive mother, me. Sweet, affectionate, and brave. She's playful and loving, and spends most of her day trilling quietly about things she'd like me to know. I don't see myself adopting another feline any time soon, but I would suggest town cats as a wonderful place to find a furever friend. read more

In 2023 I would have given Town Cats 5 stars, but what a letdown in 2024! Last year Aidan helped me with 12 kittens that were abandoned. All went to loving homes. This year I TNR'd six neighborhood feral females with kittens. I contacted TC and was told that they would accept these kittens, along with four others that were found in a bag, provided I foster them until they were old enough to neuter and be placed for adoption. Same deal as with Aidan in 2023, but unfortunately she was no longer with TC. The person I was corresponding with (Tony) unbeknownst to me, discontinued working at TC and Jamie, who was copied on all emails, never contacted me. When I finally sent her a direct message, she responded that TC knew nothing about "my" 13 kittens! When I forwarded proof they'd been accepted by TC, she reluctantly agreed to take them. On the date/time Jamie told me to deliver them, I drove the 23 miles to their location with the kittens, gift bags, and extra food, along with my usual feeling of joy that they'd find permanent homes, and that touch of sadness to say goodbye to them. HOWEVER... something didn't feel right when Jamie introduced herself and when she came back outside she told me they couldn't (wouldn't) take the kittens!! Her excuses were 1) Tony; 2) no room in back (quarantine??)! I was SO UPSET and couldn't believe she had me drive all the way out there when it felt pretty obvious TC never intended to keep their word. I have contacted multiple rescue organizations since with no luck. Thanks to TC I still have 13 kittens born late March to early April. How do I respond to Stormie's comments? The kittens weren't "sick," although a couple had begun to sneeze. Yet you refused ALL the kittens. Keep in mind these kittens should have gone to TC weeks earlier, when all was well! Again you are using the excuse that yet another employee (Jamie) no longer works there, however both she and Tony were required to get management approval. Has everyone left? I was never told to continue fostering until you were able to take them. Jamie did mention Tony worked elsewhere. I was never verbally abusive, although I wanted to be... I was in shock. To say you didn't have room for ACCEPTED kittens is confusing. I wasn't going on "vacation." I was summoned to NC because my terminally ill sister needed me. This will be my final "review" of TC. We got a new house a while ago and the previous owner's cat, Lola, lived under the roof of the empty house for a year after the previous owner passed away unfortunately. After one of my cats passed away in 2001, I looked into adopting another but my husband wanted to wait until the remaining cat passed since he didn't think it would be fair to her to bring in a kitten. It wasn't the correct decision, but that's not the point of this :-) I was looking for another cat and found TownCats, a no-kill shelter of kitties. I liked the fact that it was fun by volunteers and 100% of the donations went to taking care of the cats, so instead of adopting, I made a donation. In 2007, the time came for us to get more fur babies. I love how the website is like online dating. I can see the cats, read about their purrsonalities, etc. I found one that I wanted, and contacted Rosi via email. She was very prompt and helped me get pre-qualified before we went to the cat fair to meet our future kittens. We took home Winston and Marina (they were different names, but they didn't mind our changing them). Petfood Express gave us 10% discount. All of the cages were very clean as were the cats. Our cats were very well socialized and knew how to use a litterbox right off of the bat. When I brought them into our vet, she comped the visit because she supports Town Cats and all of the hard work they do taking care of kitties. Now that my daughter is a teenager, she wants to volunteer where she can with Town Cats, and we're working with the volunteer coordinator, Patti, on that. I've recommended Town Cats to anyone who is ready to adopt a kitty, old or young, and a few of my friends have! There are many walks of life we encounter on a daily basis. Some people are more outgoing than others, while others not so much. Such is the case with the staff here where some are very outgoing, and the rest would rather focus on just doing their work of keeping up with the furry tenants. What matters is that they all obviously care about the cats. The place is kept clean, there's plenty of food and water and the cats themselves seem mellow and content. I am an experienced kitten foster parent and a former RVT. Awhile back, I decided that it might be nice to "officially" foster kittens through a real rescue rather then taking kittens I was handed and paying all of their vet bills out of pocket. Someone suggested I email Town Cats, and I did. I told them that I was interested in bottle babies, and that since I had a full-time job I needed small groups so that I could take them to work with me in one carrier. The first day, they gave me a little singleton kitten, who was ~2 weeks old. A few days later I got an email asking me if I would go pick up a ~5 week old kitten, and I initially refused. Mixing up the ages like that can be really touchy, and if it didn't work out I would be stuck with two carriers to haul around. The person who was emailing me got really nasty about my refusal, making fun of me for "Not knowing you can have two kittens in one carrier" and eventually making me feel so bad that I went and picked up the second kitten. Kitten #2 had an upper respiratory infection. I called and asked which vet I should take him to, and was told that he was "Too young for antibiotics". (BULL!! As an RVT I have had MUCH younger kittens on antibiotics and it is NOT an issue!!) Instead, I was instructed to drive out to the TownCats shelter and given some sort of home remedy. Kitten #2 declined steadily, and despite my separating them as soon as I realized he was sick (Thus being stuck hauling two carriers to work!!) Kitten #1 got sick as well. Once again I pleaded with TownCats to let me get him vetted and once again they refused, sending me home with fluids and more of that brown goo home remedy. As it became clear that neither kitten was going to get better, I decided that I wasn't going to watch them die because TownCats wouldn't let me take them to the vet on their dime, so I took them to my vet. Luckily, the vet I took him to had worked with TownCats before and billed them rather than billing me. It was too late, Kitten #1 died in my hands just a day later. My request to take kitten #2 to an emergency clinic was also denied, so I brought him back to the shelter and handed him back so that I didn't have to watch him die as well. The whole expience was so exhausting and upsetting that I completely swore off fostering for ANYONE else. I want to know that my kittens can get medical treatment the MOMENT they fall ill. I want to know that proper quarantine procedures were observed before putting a new kitten in with an existing group. I've lost kittens before...fostering pre-weans is heartbreaking that way...sometimes no matter how hard you try they just don't make it. The TownCats kitten is the ONLY one I feel guilty over, because I KNEW he needed medical care, and I don't feel that I did the right thing by him. He died because I didn't take matters into my own hands soon enough. I'm so sorry, little one. (As an aside, I also helped out in their shelter for an afternoon because I happened to have stopped there to pick up the home remedy stuff and there was a group of volunteers cleaning. One of the TownCats folks asked me to brush out some of the cats, then yelled at me because I went to brush out an orange tabby and he promptly had a seizure. I have been a volunteer every Thursday morning for Town Cats since March 9th taking care of kitten and cats at Petco in Morgan Hill. Shortly after volunteering, the one cat resident, Maximus, escaped under my watch. I helped looked for him for 30 minutes and kept checking back until he was found. I was told that this has happened before. Today, I was informed that my volunteer services were being terminated because another incident MIGHT happen. I believe that's a BIG assumption to make. I'm very hurt by this and will miss taking care of the kittens and cats very much until they find their forever homes. One good thing came out of it. My family adopted the kitten I was fostering. Town Cats is a rescue organization that saves on overhead costs by only utilizing foster homes, not a centralized shelter. You can meet the kitties at regularly held events. Most of their cats are ferals who have replaced street life with being loved in individual homes. We adopted a sweet kitten from one of Town Cats' adoption fairs held at Pet Food Express. He is a doll! We had a wonderful experience with the volunteers who handled the adoption. They even charged us the lower price for an adult cat even though this was a baby. The only problem that came up was said kitten had chronic diarrhea, and we were told it was normal! A volunteer explained that the runs were normal at that age (4 months) and that the food they were feeding him was ideal (Halo). Now, I didn't have much experience with kittens, but diarrhea is never normal. As soon as we switched his food, his poop was whole. Overall, our baby has been very healthy. He obviously had received a lot of love and attention. Moral of the story: pay attention to symptoms regardless of what anyone tells you. Just because any particular food is sold in a store that prides itself on only healthy food, like Pet Food Express, doesn't mean it agrees with your particular animal. The runs are not safe and prolonged diarrhea can lead to dehydration which can be fatal. We really enjoy stopping by PFE's adoption fairs held by TC. The volunteers are always friendly and informative, and of course the cats are totally cute. They do so much for cats that are otherwise on the streets. They even managed to save two critically injured kittens out of a bag of kittens that had been thrown from a car (the others were DOA) and brought in by an innocent bystander. Town Cats arranged for their emergency care and prepared them for adoption. Yes, evil scumbags live among us; please don't ever forget that. (They may appear normal!) Organizations like Town Cats are the antidote but I wish they weren't needed. read more

My wife and I have been blessed enough to adopt two sister kittens from Town Cats and we just adore our new family members Bear and Delilah. We had just bought our first home and my wife never had the pleasure of having a pet so she was super excited about adopting our kittens, especially since these are precious babies that needed a home. When one of our kittens, Delilah, was sick we were very concerned, especially since our cat's veterinarian couldn't determine what was the cause of her illness after many repeated visits to the vet clinic... Delilah just stopped eating food and drinking water and it was like our hearts sank because our baby was sick and we couldn't help her. Rosi from Town Cats always sent us emails to check in on Bear and Delilah to see how they were doing and if we had any questions or concerns. So when we told her that Delilah was deathly ill and the vet didn't know what to do any more, Rosi told us to take our kitten Delilah to the Town Cats Morgan Hill office where they cradled her in their arms to syringe feed her and gave her fluids because she was badly dehydrated. Rosi and Town Cats have a genuine concern for their beloved animals. I have seen their love and care for their cats first hand... to them, their relationship with our cats did not end once we adopted them, it continued onward because Rosi and the rest of the Town Cat's team want to see their adopted cats thrive and be adopted into healthy and loving homes. I only saw motherly affection and reassurance and it felt great knowing that my kitties were well taken care of before we adopted them, and this love was shown to the other cats in the Town Cats' office that were still waiting to be adopted. I would like to commend Town Cats for being the cat adoption organization that it is, for finding new homes for these delicate creatures so that they can live better lives with a loving family after being abandoned, found, or worse. It takes a great deal of love to care for living creatures that cannot fend themselves or that don't have someone to take care of them. My husband and I adopted 2 kittens (originally called Bonnie and Clyde) two years ago from the adoption fair at Pet Food Express, Blossom Hill. The staff couldn't have been more helpful when we were looking at the kittens and cats. Bonnie and Clyde had already been reserved by somone else but after seeing how much we had fallen in love with them, they phoned the person to check if he still wanted them (lucky for us, he had decided against getting kittens!). Pat was fantastic to deal with - she checked on the kittens' histories for us, and even helped us choose food, bedding, and toys for them. When we took them home they were already well litter trained, and super cute and cuddly - they had obviously been socialised well. Here's my recent experience with Town Cats. My kids and I filled out an application for a special little kitten up for adoption just after the New Year. (I'll save you the emotional details but my kiddo was certain this was THE KITTY for her after searching many, many shelters.) We were emailed back right away saying that another family had also applied for the same kitty but applications don't guarantee an adoption and the adoption fair was the next day, Sunday, and that it is first come, first serve. So we showed up an hour early to be sure we were first in line to adopt this little guy. About 5 minutes before the start of the adoption, another family show up. I had texted the rep from Town Cats about sign up and how it worked since we'd been there a while and hadn't seen anyone yet. She said that a volunteer would arrive soon and since we were there first, we would be taking the kitty home! The volunteer came right on time and we went in to the room to finally play one on one with the kitten we'd visited through the plastic box the day before and an hour that day as well. She was confused about how to proceed since the other family was saying that they had a 'contract' for this kitten already (which is not a thing) so she was calling the same rep I'd texted earlier and trying to get her to help with this situation. In the meantime, she said she didn't know what to do, and that since the other family applied first she might have to give it to them. My 9 year old started crying. I could tell it was getting awkward and so I went to find the volunteer to tell her that despite the fact that we followed the rules and were here first, this was upsetting my kids and I was just going to let this other family have the kitty because it was getting contentious in the visiting area but she stopped me and said she'd spoken to the Town Cats rep and the rep had told her that, again for the second time, the kitty was ours to take home. My 9 year burst in to tears, of joy this time. We stayed a bit away while she told the other family that he was ours, to give them privacy and space, then after a few minutes, we went up to do the paperwork. When we walked up I saw that the father from the other family was on the phone, clearly mad. The volunteer said don't worry about it, the kitty is yours. I was writing the check and he stepped in and said she should call her boss first, and she continued on, then he said 'no, really' and made it really awkward again. Then my phone rings and the rep calls me. She said that she made a hasty decision because she didn't know that this other family had 'bonded' with this kitty already and she'd need review both applications again, talk to her coworkers, then call me tomorrow. I should state that at this point she started telling me about all of these other cats at their Morgan Hill location and how we should come and check them out, so clearly she's already made up her mind huh? Anyway, so again my kid is upset because it went from Yes, to Maybe, to Yes, to Maybe again (but that easy let down, maybe kids know means NO, parents you know the one). I had watched this other family interact with the kitty earlier and this man who claimed to have 'bonded' so much with this kitten didn't even touch it once then entire time. He must have had such control to stop himself from insatiable 'bond' pulling him to this special kitten. (Eye Roll). It was an emotional ploy...and guess what folks, it worked. She called me the next day to tell me that she was giving the kitty to the other family. Town Cats metaphorically ripped a kitten from my 9 years old arms after telling her IN PERSON, to her face, that he was hers to love. It was simply cruel. And what's craziest about this whole thing, WE FOLLOWED THE RULES. We applied, we showed up first, and were TOLD TWICE that he was ours. It can't get much more black and white than that. I don't care if someone calls and uses whatever manipulation tactic they can to get you to change your policy, I mean mind. You had already told a child this was her kitten. On that fact alone, he should have been adopted by my daughter. I will NEVER deal with Town Cats again, ever and you better believe I've told everyone the whole story of this nightmare of an ordeal too. We had 7 people from our family there that day to witness this emotional roller coaster and everyone was equally disgusted by the end result. IT WAS WRONG. Period. read more

This shelter is so great. The adoption counselor, Nineveh, was so responsive and kind and my cats came out of this place happy and ready for a home. They were house-trained, calm, micro-chipped with my info, fixed, and had all their shots up to date. I'm posting an open letter to the "Director" of Town Cats. As an adopter AND volunteer, this has been MY experience! Everything I've written is truthful & accurate & I can provide documentation & receipts. Everything I've experienced has been backed up/witnessed by a third party & I've got quite the paper trail if I'm ever requested to provide any documentation. I've left out names as well as certain information in order to protect one's privacy & to protect myself from receiving harassing and threatening messages, as I have in the past: To: The "Director" of Town Cats I've actively participated in the rescue, rehabilitation, socialization, fostering AND adoption of various kittens under the Town Cats name. I, along with friends & family, have donated countless numbers of hours & hundreds of dollars to this organization! I've cared for ignored & sick cats & have opened up my home to foster several cats & have found them all homes & even adopted a few of them! I've donated every cent to Town Cats. Even though I've paid over a thousand dollars, out of pocket, so these wonderful kitties could get the care that you, the "Director" of Town Cats failed to provide! At times, I've donated at least half of my monthly income to you & the TC organization all in the name of helping cats! You know what I've unfortunately come to understand? YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THIS!!! After many warnings & horror stories about you, I continued to give you the benefit of the doubt! I kept telling myself over & over "just think about the kitties"! Well, when the "Director" of the organization doesn't "think about the kitties", how can you expect me to? You KNOWINGLY adopt out sick cats! This happened with a cat I brought home to rehabilitate! He was an in-house cat at a Petsmart location & was so sick, customers & management began to complain! But you WOULD NOT get him medical attention! I had to quarantine him for 2 months & ended up adopting him! To this day, he is still sick off & on & I just found out 3 weeks ago that he MAY have F.I.P. You are the true definition of a bully! You rule with fear & threats, you verbally & emotionally abuse VOLUNTEERS! I have personally seen you threaten someone physically & I've been told of many more cases of abuse! You've been abusive in emails to me & have written cruel, mean & completely irrational messages calling me names to other volunteers! If this were an actual company, you would've been out of business years ago & you'd have countless numbers of lawsuits on your hands! You lack but the basic, communication skills.You don't answer emails, phone calls etc. When you do, you are rude, harsh & don't even answer my questions! You choose to surround yourself with, easily-intimidated, individuals that respond to your every beck & call. No one respects you, they fear you & that's nothing to be proud of! I will continue to rescue & rehabilitate cats on my own! I no longer wish to subject myself to your unprofessional, abhorrent, disgusting behavior! You take advantage of empathetic, compassionate people, who just want to help! For someone who claims to want to save lives, you are TRULY INHUMANE! The ONLY reason I've given Town Cats 2 stars is because of the WONDERFUL cats that I truly love, some of the exceptional volunteers who don't care about the "politics" & egos & the caring, fellow adopters that I've met along the way! To this very day, I still help when I'm able & give when I can. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CATS & they ALL deserve loving homes & families! I adopted a cat I love from Town Cats. In three months, he's had seven different infections, each, my vet says, common in crowded conditions like animal shelters. He developed ringworm days after I picked him up; when I called Town Cats to warn them -- ringworm is very contagious -- they were surprisingly unworried about it, and about the health of his cagemate. The pet store where I got him said she'd had to call Town Cats the day after I adopted to pick up his cagemate because he was coughing so much; Town Cats didn't bother to tell me about this when I called to tell them about the ringworm. Unlike other adoption agencies in the area, Town Cats doesn't make you wash your hands before you touch their animals. I love my kitten, but I don't think Town Cats took very good care of him. read more

For several years my wife has been wanting to adopt a tuxedo kitten to replace we lost. While I was shopping at Gilroy PetSmart I noticed that they had 4 tuxedo kittens. I sent my wife some pictures and she spotted one that she fell in love with. When we returned an hour later there were two volunteers from Town Cats attending to the kittens. We spent about a half hour and fell in love with cute little kitten named Muffin. We were told by the two volunteers that we would have to call Chanel, the volunteers name on the card to make arrangements, which we did, but could only leave a message on her cell phone. The two volunteers that were there tries several times themselves and even called several other volunteers which still yielded zero results. We were then informed that there is no way to put our name on a list or put a hold on the kitten. I called the cell number again the following morning and left another message asking to please return the phone call, which of course was ignored. I then called the store and spoke with someone who said that he receives numerous complaints about customers not receiving returned phone calls. Ironically, he said that Town Cats had a pet fair that day but everyone had already left. He did confirm that the Muffin was still there though, but again, there was nothing else he could do. We decided to go down PetSmart again this morning. Low and behold, there is a volunteer there that is adopting Muffin to another family. The volunteer said she would try and contact Chanel, but returned with the owner of Town Cats on the phone. She told me that she apologized for the inconvenience but like Solomon, she can;t split the cat. She followed up by saying she has another 400 cats waiting for adoption and I'm sure I can find another kitten for us. Bottom Line: All of our pets are rescue's and my wife and I donate to several other animal rescue agencies. I applaud what they are attempting to do, but would never even consider using this firm again. There price for adoption for the kitten we were looking at was $125.00, typical for any adoption agency we have used. I would suggest dealing with a company that will allow you to take the animal with you in lieu of waiting for a phone call that may neve come. read more

I had a stray mama cat and her three kittens that made a home in my backyard. The mom and kittens started getting sick. I didn't want to put them down so a friend of mine found Town Cats online. The staff at Town Cats were helpful in taking them in to help them get better! read more

This is really difficult to write because I generally believe in the service they are trying to provide. I hate to be negative about them, but this is something I just don't understand. I have tried to adopt a cat from Town Cats from two separate locations in the bay area over the past week. Once at Blossom Hill and a second time from a location in Morgan Hill. Both times my family and I were informed that they will only adopt out cats to us, in 'bonded pairs'. While looking for a new kitty on Saturday, at the Blossom Hill location, I was immediately informed of this policy. I was told "We adopt out our cats in 'bonded pairs'. At a second location, in Morgan Hill, My family was looking at a loveable kitten who was very affectionate with my daughter and son. Everyone was happy. We had found our new family pet. We were set to fill out the paperwork. It was at this point we were told that the caregivers "manager" said we could not adopt the cat and that we could only adopt her if we also took her sister. My wife was floored. My kids were devastated. Let me get this straight - twice now, we've were unable to provide a stable loving home to a Morgan Hill Town Cat, unless we take two cats? Unfortunately we were put in a situation where we had to leave the loveable kitty with her foster family. It's okay, the bonded pair sister kitty will be there to hold her, brush her, and keep her company. Aww. how sweet for the two of them. I understand this notion for adult or mature cats who have been together for a lifetime but, but 6 moth old kittens who are clearly from separate litters? I'm sorry, I just don't get it. Is my family just so unlucky that both cat's we've found (from two separate locations) in the past week are mysteriously 'bonded pairs'? When I mentioned this situation to a colleague we were told that this is a somewhat new approach for Morgan Hill Town Cats. The hypothesis is that it was introduced by the new administration, after the passing of the original founder. I can't prove or disprove this theory, but it would be a shame if it's true. I urge anyone who is looking to get a cat from Morgan Hill Town Cats to be prepared for their hard adoption tactics. Ask them up front if the cat you are looking at is open for a singular adoption. We hope your family is luckier than ours. Who would have thought that adopting a cat would turn into a hard pressure situation? It's a shame to see otherwise great kitties have to be looked over because - "They are a matched set." These are loveable cats who need a forever home. They are not shoes. Bogus deal for sure. My wife and kids recovered. No worries, We'll find the right kitty for our family. For fun, I'm going to compile a quick list of items which are appropriately offered in bonded pairs: Mittens, Gloves, Socks, Shoes, Chopsticks, Drum sticks, Shoelaces, Contacts, Earrings, Earplugs, Dice, Reese's Peanut Butter cups (candy), Ski's, Skates, and Water Wings (Ha! we just adopted two adult cats (2 yrs old and 1 1/2 ) from Town Cats and had a great experience. We got one from the Petsmart on Curtner and the volunteer we worked with there was amazing in helping us find a good fit for our family and our kids. We decided we wanted two cats so checked their webpage and found a second cat at their main shelter in morgan hill. After emailing back and forth we were able to get an evening appointment to visit with the cat. Their facility is amazing, though a little overwhelming for my 8 year old daughter who wanted to take all the cats home. We happily took home Lilly and the two cats get along great. They are both getting comfrotable, are healthy, and amazing. If you want an older cat, or a kitten, I highly recommend Town Cats. read more
