I came into this store a few days ago because I was helping a friend move into a different bedroom of her house, which involved dismantling a bed/moving the parts downstairs. We had allen wrenches, but were missing the exact ones we needed for dismantling the bed. Fortunately, there was this Ace Hardware store just down the street, so I figured we could go in and see if there were any possible inexpensive solutions. An associate asked if I needed help (I unfortunately didn't catch the guy's name) and I mentioned the predicament, admittedly somewhat worried I'd have to buy a whole new allen wrench set just to get the one that I needed for the job. He took me to a place in the back of the store with old allen wrenches people had donated, often left over from similar bed/furniture dismantling/assembly jobs, and these were free. He gave me the option of taking a few and seeing if any of them worked. I did take about three of them, and fortunately, one of them got the job done! If I'm in the area and have any further hardware needs and the like, I'll definitely be coming around. read more

Went in looking for a Stihl item (which they are no longer a dealer and do not carry them any longer. But met Dominique (and Ken) and found out they make window screens for your home. So we took all our old screens in and had them make new ones. Our screens were old and stretched so the new screens are a huge improvement from our 20 year old worn out screens! They did a great job! I've gone in this Ace Hardware several times over the years. I'm always working on projects, painting something, hanging pictures, gardening, etc.. I have always had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, today was not that day. I went to the paint counter today, Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:30 PM. There was an older lady behind the paint counter, talking to two other older people with her back to me and didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there, not even an "I'll be right with you." Nothing. I finally had to ask her for help. The color of paint I was looking for was in between black and a dark charcoal. They did not have a swatch for it. I told her the last guy that helped me at the paint counter was able to find the right color for me for a wall project I was working on. He mixed it up and said if it doesn't work, I could bring it back. It was perfect. This lady however, told me she couldn't do it unless I had the actual number code to the paint color and then proceeded to lean over-the-counter and very condescendingly tell me that white paint and black paint are very hard colors to paint with because they have different undertones. Yes lady, I'm very well aware of that. Thank you. Instead of asking me what my project was, what undertones I'm looking for or anything along those lines she just spoke to me like I was a child. I left without purchasing anything today. I had actually come in for several items but left empty handed because I was so frustrated. read more

This Ace Hardware store is an easy place to find and they have all the items a Home Depot or Lowes has. If you can find it they'll help in finding your necessities. They have a reward system in place that gives me many discounts I can use at any Ace Hardware store in the nation and also give you a military/Veteran discounts as well. Their sales are always good too. Plus they have other unexpected items specifically to certain stores. I've use them in many states. Love Ace Hardware stores. The people are always friendly. Just be patient to them and you'll get what you need. Be kind. The value is in getting a sale or your discounts. Plus there is value in not driving across town in traffic. read more

I went into this location today Saturday 4/26/25 at 8 AM and picked up 15 bags of soil that was on sale for $5 each.. great deal and the customer service at this facility was 5 star!!! Chris who was the gentleman outside, loaded up all my bags onto the cart and brought them to my vehicle and I didn't even have to ask!! Great customer service. The cashier was also very nice and gave him a 5 star as well. Living in Las Vegas for 1 year and it's very hard to get grear customer service anymore. Never heard back from them. The locks were considerably more expensive than Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon, so the only reason I bought them at this location was for the convenience of rekeying. I purchased $43 worth of plumbing parts from the Ace Hardware store on Horizon Ridge and Stephanie St. Unfortunately, the parts didn't fit my project. A few days later I was in the area of this store so I went in to get a refund. As soon as the clerk saw my receipt from the other store she said they wouldn't be able to process my refund as they don't honor transactions from that store because of an ongoing dispute with the owners. These stores are individually franchised. So because of a pissing contest between the owners, I (and every other customer) have to be inconvenienced. I've returned items from other big box stores in different states, much less across town. This dispute should be handled and resolved at the corporate level in the interest of customer service. I will no longer be an Ace customer at any store. read more

To be honest, I didn't know they were even still around! Very minor item I had to get but the cashier was unbelievably friendly, gracious and so helpful! I've been an Ace customer for many many years, in a variety of cities, but mostly in Las Vegas and Friday Harbor. I love several things about the store. First, they have excellent customer service, and expert help is never more than a few minutes away. Second, they have an extraordinarily wide variety of hardware, including some quite obscure items not easily available elsewhere. As a result, the store is quite compact and packed, but as I said, help is always available if you need it. Third, their personnel are very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. The big chains are useless in all three respects. And forth, they are privately owned, so the policies, stock decisions, personnel decisions, salary decisions and all the rest are not predicated on the super-short timeline of a publicly traded company. Unfortunately I have to downgrade my rating of this place. The products are great, the neighborhood feel still exists but after my experience with Ty and the restroom I'm not sure I'll be back except when I'm in need of a screw or bolt for a special project. Went in today to get some bike locks and found myself wandering the isles as I'm sure lots of others do. While shopping my kiddo needed to use the restroom so of course I took her. What I found in the restroom was absolutely disgusting. The restroom looked like it had not been cleaned in a month. I think the employees must use a different bathroom because that one looked like a deserted ghost town with a twist of the Hills Have Eyes. I found myself looking in every direction in case some radiated zombie came creeping out of a dark corner. There was zero toilet paper and only about 3 pieces of towels left in the dispenser. The floor had nasty black stains/shoe prints on it and toilet literally looked and smelled like an outhouse from a summer concert after a long weekend. Interesting enough was the cleaning log. At least they weren't hiding that they didn't clean it. On the 21st of the month it had been "visited" by a staff member a total of 5 times. July 3rd, 8th, 10th, 13th and 15th (see picture attached). So we gathered our basket of goodies and went to the front. I planned on simply letting them know it needed attention and moving on, however after my interaction with the Ty I find myself here. Here is a play by play of my interaction with him. Ty: You have a rewards card? Me: No not yet. Ty: Ok your total is $109.39 Me: By the way restroom is in very bad shape. They are an emergency only hardware store. If you need something in a pinch other than that I would go to Lowe's or Home Depot. They do not match prices with Lowe's or Home Depot. They do not give Veterans discounts. They are also very hard line. I guess I would say they're not really Customer Service oriented in the sense that they are friendly easy to talk to, you're not slow dancing with him so I get that but I mean other than just yes ,no ,over here ,down there ,,,,,it that's it not my first, third, fourth,fifth or sixth choice. I can pick several other places to go and spend my dollars unless,,,,, I have a real panic issue your stuck and then they gouge you on the price a lot of times, for instance,,,, I needed a demolition prybar for my project and Lowe's and Home Depot have it but they're a little bit further down the road and about five to $10 cheaper and I asked Ace if they match prices and the guy was just really stern and hard no we don't so he couldn't get much further into the conversation with him. That was it. It was kind of a take it or leave it attitude. Yeah we got it but yeah we're not gonna be nice or competitive about it. they're gonna have to sharpen their pencil and be nicer I guess they intimidate a lot of people I could see white I'm not trying to sound chauvinist, but I can see why woman would be intimidated because these guys come off really hard and stern,,,,I will drive a little further to Lowe's Home Depot any place other than these guys just so I can give them the financial finger You're very a few businesses that I don't like and wish they would go out of business even though they're there for a panic situation if I have it but these guys are just not the nicest bunch around and they are not very explanatory they treated women I know rather rudely that need helpand of course they always try to sell the higher priced item read more

went here to get a 10 ft long conduit tube and needed it cut. asked grumpy old guy in the back and he said "can't do it,don't hve anything to cut it with." I said you're a hardware store and don't hve a way to cut simple tubing? Uncaring he shook his head no. I needed it so purchased and my neighbor took out his saws-all and cut it in a few minutes. Been in this area since 2015, every time i go to this place the old guys in the back very unhelpful w/uncaring attitudes. Done w this place. Extra drive to Home Depot much more worth it. I intended to buy a 14 piece drill bit set that was on sale, but as is often the case here, they were out stock. I asked if they could sell me the 13 piece, which was identical to the 14 piece except that it came with one less piece, but she refused to make an exception. Then the manager asked you to wear a mask and you said you were exempted and "goes against your constitutional rights" She asked you for your exemption, which DOESNT violate HIPPA (look it up). I really like these guys! If you want one trip vs multiple trips at big box hardware stores, this is your place. Each Ace Hardware is family owned, so that's just another incentive to buy from a local. I made three trips to Home Depot thinking it was something convenient, but turned into a hassle waiting in line for exchanges only to get the wrong aerator. I honestly would suggest you go to Home Depot or anywhere else on the planet. I walked in today and there was only one employee at the register, no other employee in the store. As I walk up to the girl at the register to ask for help, I hear the manager yell at the girl on the register to answer the phone from the office. The poor girl was in the middle of helping a customer checking them out, and she's getting yelled at to answer a phone. Wtf? First off why is there one girl on a register and one guy moving things in the front and a manager yelling at employees rom the office? Bought a 3 quart paint can from them, went in to have it mixed and stirred. I had just opened the can up and the paint had settled. I needed to make a spare for my new car. The customer service at this ACE is exactly what you'd want from a local hardware store in your neighborhood. Everyone's consideration and hospitality is spot on. Specifically Tiffany, Kim, and the young guy that help with keys. I'm sure they do everything there, but I rarely need anything from ACE and they make me want to go back. Tiffany was especially helpful and extremely kind and friendly. Kim is great the elder gentleman was super helpful and respectful. And the young guy with long brown hair that works at the back with keys (I forgot his name and didn't work with him specifically) but his manners, wow. This place is great. I love real Hardware Stores. You know, the ones where people actually know what they are talking about? Yeah, Southern Highlands Ace Hardware is one of those places. We were in town to shoot some guns...some HUGE bullets. Well it seemed that the 50 Cal was liking some of the shells and didn't want to let go of them after firing. So it was my job to go and get something to ram the shell out of the gun. I knew what I was looking for and they knew what I was talking about. AMAZING!! The prices didn't seem unreasonable and were probably right in line with the "Big Box" stores. I so wish I had a store like this close to my house. Instead my two closest ones are Home Depots where no one knows anything and it takes 20 minutes to walk around the football stadium sized store just to find someone to help you. This is my go-to hardware store. They always have what I want at reasonable prices and they're conveniently located. So why one star? The surly, impolite young man at check out (late teens, Caucasian or Hispanic, dark hair working the afternoon of September 12). Never said "please," "thank you" or any of those other things folks who have been properly trained in customer service say. I even said to him "it's OK to say please to the customer," but those word didn't penetrate his Gen Z skull. I guess I could have wasted time hunting down a manager to complain, but in the modern era negative Yelp reviews do more good than speaking to a 20-year-old assistant manager. read more
