Look Ace is as good as you're going to get in a small local hardware store. I have not yet encountered a staff, In my over 30 (100 prob if you count my time in Bozeman) visits, that has been the least bit unhelpful or unknowledgeable. I've had to return a lot of things and lived ever asked questions. We will support the local guys whenever we can, here's one I don't hesitate to use. Been there with the plumbing contractor. It's not the shop you're going to go if you need exhaustive resources for any trade but it is you spot for everyday house and business needs. Ace is the helpful place. read more

I bought a 5 tier tote rack from Ace Hardware on 10th Ave S. Got home and half the racks were missing. I took the tote rack back for a refund and they stated I was stuck with what I bought! Horrible customer service! Go to Home Depot instead. Same service at Home Depot, but at least they will refund! read more

The NW Bypass Ace is usually employees asking you first if they can help you. Their fastener hardware selection is probably the best in town not counting the dedicated fastener outlet up by the base. However and I haven't been here for a very long time, when I went into the 10th ave so store I would walk in and three people at a counter just stared at me as I walked in. No hello or even a smile and there was hardly anyone else in the store as customers! This happened more than once and dont even think of stopping there even now when I am up on that side of town. These idiots that own these places obviously do not care about all the sales they are missing out on and that is true with alot of stores in great falls. great falls used to be great but in the last 20 years at least when I moved us back here, it has been non stop places you dont even care to go in. My mom and I went into town to look for a sprinkler timer at Walmart and they were out. We ended up at Ace and we're lucky enough to be waited on by LYNN. Talk about stellar customer service. Not only did she have knowledge about the timer but when they didn't have the one that we wanted she called across town to North 40 spoke to the people and have them hold it at the customer service for us. I went to both ace hardware stores one on 10th was been under construction that was the most difficult place to get into for two days I tried on the third day I was successful I found the entrance the people inside were courteous kind and helpful the line for check out was short fast they had what I was looking for and then some I'd recommend it they make keys to read more

Over priced, tons of workers and yet no one seems to be able to help. Always come in for fertilizer, they only seem to carry a couple of bags. When you ask for the stuff they all walk around, can't find the SKU even after you tell them where it's at. They all stare at each other and don't offer to order any or help. After 5 minutes of three ladies staring at each other they direct me to customer service. From the 6 employees I counted they tried looking Around the store to see if they had any, then spent another 5 minutes attempting to "put some on hold" when the next truck came in. So I stopped at this Ace instead of making the wiser decision to drive the extra handful of blocks to walmart to buy some spray paint. I used to like ace because, well, you remember their slogan. "helpful". I grab my paint and head up to the counter and notice one my favorite candies for a great price. So, totally stoked, I grab 3. The cashier doesn't catch it but my boyfriend does, and we ask why they are now $1.99 instead of $0.79. The tag is taped to the box, and next to it is another box with a different kind of candy, already labeled with its own tag. We point out that the box is clearly mislabeled and asked that the cashier honor the advertised price. This guy twice tried to shrug his shoulders and beam apathy at me hoping I would just cough up the excess and go away. I asked him to do something about it. He asked another cashier and that cashier asked for someone else. At this point again the cashier tried to get me to finish the transaction before this (presumably) supervisor arrived. When she finally did, she told me she couldn't do anything for me. I wish I would have just left my spray paint on their counter and drove those extra couple blocks to Walmart. If you want to support a local smaller business because you like customer service and realness, don't let it be this ace hardware on 10th ave s. Never going back. read more
