I think it's funny how you write a REAL review on those wedding websites and they delete them so I decided to come on yelp and review! I used this company as our DJ for our wedding in 2011. Jonathan was super cool in the beginning and told us he will not be going on vacation for awhile so he will be there for us no matter what and would be the MC at our wedding. This place was the first DJ we checked out and the last. We paid in full up front and got a discount and we were happy! Fast forward to a few weeks before the wedding (we booked him 10 months beforehand) and haven't heard anything from him. We wanted to follow up with him and let him know our music for our first dance and blah blah. Called him, sent him emails. Nothing. It was absolutely ridiculous. FINALLY, a week or so before the wedding we get in touch with someone else and says I can meet you to go over everything. We ask what happened to Jonathan and he tells us he had a family emergency. Okay. For 3 weeks? Hmmmm. Okay. So we meet up with this other dude and go over everything and he gives us his number and we are good to go. And he then tells us he will be the MC for our wedding now, not Jonathan. Ha. Okay. So, 2 days before the wedding, he calls us up (I wish I remember his name) and says we can't do the gobo for you. Our machine is broken. We are pretty bummed since we did pay for it but we said okay we would like a discount. I guess the package we got INCLUDED the gobo at no charge. Yeah right. Okay. Whatever. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and everything turned out perfectly! Our DJ was right on with the music, played the music we wanted and everyone at our wedding loved him (except for a few people that he kicked off the dance floor when it was the anniversary dance). All in all, the music and entertainment was great. Jonathan on the other hand was an absolute salesman sleazeball. He drove out all the way to Hemet to meet us the first time which we thought was awesome. He was super cool first meeting and then he dropped off the face of the planet. Horrible with communication and most likely is a liar (I highly doubt he had a family emergency...he was probably at another wedding). Which was fine if he just told us the truth and communicated with us. I wanted to give this place a two but I've been to a few other weddings since then and the other DJ's were not nearly as good as ours so I had to bump them up 1 star. read more

This is a joke of a company!! Allow me to explain... I received an email with an offer for Ace Entertainment when I signed up for one of those wedding websites in Apr 2012... The email promo went on through June. I reached out to Jonathan the last week of June and told him that I, along with 2 great friends of mine, are getting married and we are hoping to get an even better deal by booking all 3 of our weddings at once. I invited my friends and their fiances over to our place so that Jonathan could meet us all at once. He was friendly, polite and seemed trustworthy. We felt comfortable with him immediately. I was ready to sign the contract and one of my friends was also. My other friend wasn't quite sure yet so she wasn't ready to sign. Lucky for her!!! We signed everything the first week of July 2012 and gave a 50% deposit (I gave $500 and I believe my friend gave $600 since she need more up-lighting than I did). Her wedding was originally set for Nov that year but got pushed to March 2013 and mine was set for August 2013. As she got closer to her wedding date, she reached out to Jonathan and didn't get a response back. She tried again, nothing. So I tried, nothing. This went on for MONTHS with emails and voicemails!! About 3 months before her wedding, after not hearing back from him after NUMEROUS attempts, she called her credit card company to dispute the charge of her deposit that she paid him. Miraculously, he responds to the credit card company!!! He claims she just had "Buyers Remorse!" Someone by the name of Eric emails both of us and said, "Jonathan has been out of the office due to a medical emergency." BS!!! So now I'm in the middle of this situation because I introduced them AND gave a deposit!! 2 months after we got the email from Eric, Jonathon emails me. I told him that because of what he has done, my friendship with her was strained and I was no longer comfortable continuing with his services and would like my money back. I knew it was a long shot, but I gave him the opportunity to be a "stand-up" guy. He apologized that his situation with her was causing a strain... REALLY???? Then why didn't you try to fix it??? After he said that he would be unable to return my deposit, he said that we would need to sign the cancellation contracts. I asked him to send the forms over... GUESS WHAT!? I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN!!! Jonathan, your lack of communication is a SERIOUS problem! You may have won the credit card dispute with my friend (since there was a contract signed) but you gave us EVERY reason to not trust you! You have our $1100 but I hope you never gain another customer with this review!! Save yourself the headache and don't even bother with this company! I am not the kind of person to write bad reviews, but I think this is necessary for any wedding planning bride. I was referred to this Dj by a dear friend. He met me somewhere close to my home and was very nice and helpful. I did not hear from him at all nearing the wedding. I emailed him 3 weeks prior to ask him if we needed to meet. I did not hear from him. I called him a week later, left a message, and he finally reached me and left a voicemail with his number; however, he never responded to the texts or calls from my husband and I. On the day before my wedding in the evening, I get a call from another DJ telling me that he will be there (THE DAY BEFORE). I was at my rehearsal so I did not hear this until late that night. Luckily, this DJ texted me back late that night. Eric was very helpful and even brought cords for a projector; however, once the speeches went through and they forgot someone was supposed to give a speech, eventhough it was explicitly stated in the email that she needed to be added. Well he seemed to have a little attitude and apparently he went to sit down with the friend who referred me to the group and talked to her a large portion of the time while Gio was working his set. (He did a great, great job.) I am sure this group is great 80% of the time. However, I NEVER received notice or a letter of apology from Jonathan for not showing up himself as he promised, Eric showing attitude when I gently reminded him we have another speech that they forgot, and for making it so hard to communicate where they are the ones that need to get in contact with their clients. Our wedding was in end of 2011. We really regretted not interviewing more DJs (We went to 8 weddings last yr, and there quite a few great ones!!!) and picked them as they show us how they had good reviews on wedding websites, give us a good impression at the initial consultation, and extended us a good deal. We really wished we should have waited and pick one of the DJs that we liked from our friends' wedding. However, everything after the initial consultation was disappointing. In our opinion, only this vendor out of all our vendros was the disappointing vendor and the one we wish we could have changed. The main DJ personality-wise is sweet and fine, but his partner Jonathan is the one that gets on our nerves. And on the day of, our DJ ended up not playing much of the songs we requested on the list...and even play a country song and I hate country songs... :( my family even came over and told me they thought all the vendors were wonderful except our dj was lackluster. read more

I tried to contact him before the wedding to see if i could add another hour to his set and he never got back to me i believe he e mailed my wife but if i remember correctly i was the one who signed the contract and paid him. To be clear, I was another vendor on a wedding in Malibu/Ventura a month or so back, which is where I met Jonathan from Ace Entertainment. Most people don't think about these kinds of details, but it was an absolutely scorching Saturday afternoon in August where wedding guests were driving from Los Angeles, and traffic was unbearable. It took me over two hours to get to Malibu, but that's beside the point. Point is, it was hot, traffic was horrendous, and that threw off the wedding timeline, as guests arrived way after (like 45- an hour) they were supposed to. When something like that happens, you have to improvise. Jonathan was wonderful. He improvised along with us, he was sweet, and very clear and seriously helpful when it came to trying to make the wedding run smoothly in pretty dismal weather and traffic circumstances. When the timeline was thrown, he was calm, gave cues, and was able to run his music longer/shorter when necessary, MC-ing on the mic and directing the "flow" beautifully. The wedding ended up being lovely. There are a lot of DJs out there, and, truth be told, playing music the couple desires is the easy part. Taking care of logistics, rolling with the punches, improvising, making lemons out of lemonade, and coming up with a great "flow" for both the music and the wedding itself is what really sets one vendor apart from another. Check, check check! As a former wedding coordinator's assistant, and a one-too many times bridesmaid, I understand the importance of a quality DJ. They set the tone for the wedding. Jonathan's work ethic is excellent, and you will see this on your special day! His prices are reasonable, and you certainly get what you paid for! Our wedding was on November 05,2011 at the Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente. We had found Ace Entertainment at a wedding show in Anaheim that myself and 2 of my Bridesmaid had attended. Once we had made our appointment Johnathan drove all the way from San Dimas to meet us. My Husband and I had an instant connection with him. Everything they had to offer through Ace we loved and were so excited for the big day to come. They made it so easy for us to prepare for the wedding. They customized everything to our liking. Ron our DJ the day of the wedding was amazing and awesome! The biggest surprise to me was our Ceremony Music. Up until an hour before the wedding we thought we were going to have to play our music on a boom box due to the cities noise restrictions. To my surprise as I got ready to walk down the aisle I realized the Ron had set up all the speakers in a way the music projected and was Beautiful. Everything I had asked for and more.. Ace Entertainment provided my wedding up-lighting, pin spotting, a photo booth, DJ / Audio, and a customized gobo. From the initial consultation to the completion of my wedding, they provided me with exceptional service and value. During the initial consultation, they went through every detail, song selection, and tasks that needed to be complete prior to the actual wedding. They were extremely professional, courteous, and most importantly, patient with answering my questions. The up-lighting, pin spotting, and gobo was beautiful! All the lighting and especially the gobo design (custom developed by them) made the venue look so beautiful. The DJ was fun, professional, kind, and very hip. He kept the reception moving in the right pace, entertained, and during dancing, not a single person was sitting in their chair! Lastly, we also used their photo booth and my wedding party had a wonderful experience with it. The photo template was customized by them and they brought all sorts of party supplies to make the pictures more entertaining. Hands-down, Ace Entertainment was the best vendor that we've hired (over 10+ vendors were present at my wedding), and I'm proud to say that their company made my wedding a success. read more
