After the first in-depth visit, Dr. Dan told me 5 things about my mouth that no one's ever told me before. They actually see and understand their patients, they remember you from your last visit and have ongoing treatment conversations, and they have cutting edge technology and research that they take advantage of there. Vanessa was the dental hygienist on my last visit and she used a new technology -- GBT -- that used fine powder to clean and polish, removing a ton of staining and really minimizing scraping. I can't say enough great things about this place, from the kind and positive interactions with the front desk to the quality of care from the hygienists and the dentists. Not that it matters but the music was kind of strange. The charm of the doctor pleased me, however after reading all the reviews it seems like he ghosts people besides me. I am sure he will write some excuse. But I do not recommend to drive so far for what seems is not such a good deal as he inflates the price of other work for the implant to adverstise a lower fee f $500 for the work. He has and uses antiquated equipment - I think his x-ray unit is probably from the 1950's and who knows if the State of Illinois has inspected and approved its use for patient safety annually as required. A broken denture which was repaired by Dr. Wittmus broke within 2 weeks again in the same place. I returned it for a re-repair, and he attempted to charge me again even though he admitted that he had made a mistake and the fault was his. I recommend an itemized statement for all charges he attempts to hold you responsible for! I will not be returning!

Then, on top of them over-prescribing work, my husband was given TOO MUCH anesthetic and started to have a panic attack. NO ONE was nearby to help him; he almost walked out and actually called me from the office. Finally, an assistant helped him calm down but the 'dentist' was long gone and seemed quite annoyed that the procedure had to wait. We had both been going to the dentist on schedule for the past 20 years; there is just no way we needed all the work they were telling us to do. We finally cut them off and found another new dentist before they could get their claws in further but it took A LOT of calls and combing through paperwork to get the right amount of money back from them that was being 'held on our accounts.' Oh, and they sent my husband home with a $27 tube toothpaste they didn't mention they'd be charging for and applied fluoride (at a cost) without asking or clarifying that it would cost more. VERY disappointed with their sneaky ways. We loved our old dentist but she moved. We've now found another independent provider (Zephyr Dental - yay!) but will never go to one of these conglomerates again if we can help it. Different dentists depending on the day and again, just lots of over-prescribing work that was not done well. Just had to have my new dentist refill a cavity that they filled LESS THAN A YEAR AGO because it came out. Glad we got out when we did but wish we had never gone here at all.
