We took our 2012 Honda CRV to Ace because the headlights had gotten so cloudy and yellow that driving at night was starting to feel unsafe. They did an amazing job -- when we picked it up the headlights looked brand new! Honestly, it was like they'd been replaced. And our local auto shop quoted us $1400 to install new ones, so we definitely came out way ahead by going to Ace. The guy who did the work clearly takes real pride in what he does. He didn't rush it and made sure everything looked perfect before handing the car back. It's rare these days to find someone who genuinely cares about the quality of their work like that. DO NOT use this shop! I brought my car to them in late Spring 2022 and they started work on my car in August. My experience with them was an absolute nightmare. My brand-new bumper that I paid nearly $1,000 for was installed with two enlarged headlight washer holes. These asymmetrically enlarged holes were visible even with the washer caps on, which is not supposed to be the case. The holes come pre-cut from the factory and there was no reason for them to be altered. Ace refused to refund me for the damaged bumper and adamantly denied any possibility that an Ace employee could have enlarged the holes. They denied this possibility even though when I came to pick up my car after the initial repairs, it was not ready due to one of the employees installing several parts backwards, breaking one part, and incorrectly taping another. I ended up having to come back twice because they didn't clip my bumper on properly and twice more because their paint job wrinkled after a few weeks. I realized that the new spoiler that I paid for had never been installed. I asked for a refund of the part via email but received no response until I had sent a total of 5 emails over the period of 1 month. I was told by Mandy that she would look for the receipt, but 17 days later I had still not received a response from her despite following up twice. At that point, I moved ahead with filing my case with Small Claims Court, adding on the cost of the spoiler since I had still received no response from Ace. In the end, I sued Ace in Small Claims Court for the cost of the bumper, spoiler, and associated labor. It came out in court that they had noticed the damage to the headlight washer holes before I came to pick up my car after the initial repairs but chose not to tell me. I won my case and Ace was reprimanded in court for installing the bumper when it was clearly damaged, not alerting me to this damage, and for trying to countersue me for the cost of work that they agreed to do under warranty. read more

May 17th a lady hit my parked car and took the front bumper off. Her AAA towed my car to a shop they suggested which was Ace car reconditioning. I've never been in an accident till now and even then my car was parked this time. I came out to find it damaged so this was my first experience dealing with insurance claims and body shops. The body shop had my car for a month. Each time saying they needed to order parts because the bumper on the car was no longer made they ordered the stock bumper and were waiting on parts. Each time I was told a different amount I could possibly be paying out of pocket. Yet the phone calls to the lady who hit my parked car's insurance told me as long as it was related to the bumper they would pay the claims. Long story short I did end up paying little over $400 out of pocket. At this time there are things not right about the repair. I didn't get a walk though of the car at the time and that's my bad for not asking for one. Again I'm new to having to do this and I was anxious to just have my car back as it's been 1 month to the day they had it. Once getting home I noticed things wrong which I have pictures of. There is a paint chip in the driver door, there is a gap in the front panel, there is a bump in the center of the bumper that shouldn't be there and there is a piece that's coming unclipped on the bumper itself. I also found that the ring on the gear shift has been removed and not clipped back properly. I called and left a voicemail Monday night (I picked my car up Monday at around 2:30) no call has ever been made back to me and at this time I don't have confidence in this shop so I'm taking it to a different shop to get an estimate of how to fix their mistakes that I'll have to pay for out of pocket now. I want my car to look nice after it's been repaired. These are things that people asked me about saying didn't you just get your car back out of the shop??!! So yeah....time to handle things on my own with a shop that hopefully will do my car right. I take some fault for trusting that they knew what they were doing and that they'd make my car look nice at completion. The guys were nice but my car speaks for itself regarding the work done. Being told by another mechanic that the work isn't good is disappointing. So tomorrow we go to the body shop he uses for his car as he doesn't do body work. Just beware of you take your car here. Maybe ask more questions as I trusted they would do right by their work being a body shop but you live and learn and now going through this for the first time I got a taste of what it's like to juggle someone else's insurance people vs the shop. My sad volvo had turned from a shiny fire engine red to a drab, muddy pink after several years in the sun and parking under sappy trees. I also had some paint missing on part of a front quarter panel. While I hoped that my angies list deal for "149 for Premium Exterior Auto Detailing with Paint Touch-up" would cover the work required, I was told that "paint touch up" isn't the same as filling in where there is no paint, which was a shock as the details said: Polish out light scratches, swirls, and oxidation Apply touch up paint to rock chips and scratches But I wanted my car to be cleaned up, I had come this far, what is another $500? Beyond the unexpected surprise of the added cost, I really have no complaints. The car came out looking better than I can ever remember. They spent a lot of time buffing out the whole car, bumper to bumper and repainted that quarter panel, blending it in very well with the rest of the car. I received a mixed message and I'm not sure where the real truth is - the person who sold me the upgrade told me that the clear coat had delaminated from the front quarter panel and that's why they had to take everything down to primer and repaint. Another person at the shop told me that it's too bad Volvo uses an all-in-one- paint and clear coat in one product on their older cars. If it's an all in one, how could just the clear coat "de laminate"? I'm not a subject matter expert in car paint, I was given an accurate estimate at the time I dropped off the car, I wasn't obliged to have them do the work. They gave me the car back in better shape than I expected, albeit a half day later than they estimated and I didn't know about the delay until I called to confirm it would be ready at the first time I had. In the future, I'll probably go a little slower and get another estimate. In the meantime, I'm happy with the way the car looks and a lighter wallet causes less pain when I'm sitting. If these guys are the low bid, I'll happily trust my car to them again. Quality of work: 5 stars Matching expectations to the deal they sold: 2 stars Communicating / keeping me aware of the schedule during the process: 3 stars I'm somewhat torn in the tip point between 3 and 4 stars. I think if I had advocated for myself better then I would have either not done the work here or been much happier at the price I paid. Perhaps if they had told me: "For the service you have pre-paid for, we will do x" - I would move it up a notch into their favor. They are nice guys - do good work. It's probably not the best placing of their rep's certificate of achievements to have "estimating for profitability" on the wall - that one might be better off on a wall that customers don't see. read more

I was unfortunately in, what I thought at the time, was a minor car accident (I rear ended someone, ugh). I took my car here because it was not too far from where I lived and my insurance said they would pay since they're an auto body repair shop. I'm really happy I did take my car here! It ended up taking way longer than I originally anticipated but that was entirely the fault of my insurance being slow. Ace Car Reconditioning called me often to keep me updated and directly reached out to my insurance when the insurance appraisal person missed a huge problem with the car. They also lent me a car to use while mine was being repaired, which was incredibly helpful since I work 20 miles from home and there's absolutely no way I would have been able to afford an uber there every day and back. I probably would have gotten fired. I went to pick up my car today, and it's perfect. It honestly looks better than when I first got it; I was there for auto body work but it looks like they cleaned it and did an excellent job at that too! Colors match perfectly on parts I had replaced, and my car is driving like a dream. I'm so thankful for how much this place has helped me out and although I regret getting into the accident (my insurance is about to go through the roof I'm sure), I'm really happy my car is back together in one piece and you'd never be able to guess I had an accident at all. I'm selling my 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport on TRED.com. I brought it to Ace Car Reconditioning for a full detail inside and out. Didn't do the engine compartment - kicking myself a little because it is dusty and could use a wipe down. These guys are great! The car looks super shiny on the exterior, clean and not overly shinny on the interior... you know like when other places just put oily residue on the dash and doors. These guys use a dressing that is not oily and it is clean. Exactly what I hoped for. They are very attentive to your descriptions of what you'd like to have done. My girlfriend had her car repaired here and Eric Palacios runs one of the worst repair shops around. I cannot believe how crappy his customer service is. He basically made my girlfriend be the middle man to communicate with her insurance and report back to him. He claims he tried to get ahold of them but insurance agent showed us he only communicated with them 2 times out of the almost 3 MONTH repair wait. Even the agent stated this repair shop is full of BS! What should of taken less than a month to repair took almost 3 months. I knew the owner of this shop before this so called business owner took over and I'm so disappointed with his lack of communication. DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR CAR REPAIRED!!!! read more

First of all, I have never written a poor review on Yelp until now. Ace was recommended to me by a friend so I took my Scout International to these guys for several interior and exterior items. They replaced my headliner and did a great job, for a fair price. I returned the vehicle to them to do upholstery work, and to replace a floor liner, and also strip and repaint the exterior roof. I was told 2 weeks for completion...they had the truck for 3 MONTHS. It was also broken into on their lot, tools stolen they were never offered to be replaced. When they finally did say the truck was ready, I stopped by to pick up the vehicle and the upholstery was work, including floor liner was extremely poor work (I'm paying nearly 900.00 for the interior work). They agreed the work was substandard and did rectify the situation by at least curing the major problems for the upholstery. The roof paint job was very well done so I have to be fair and that's the reason for two stars. When I finally paid, I discovered they had broken a key off in the rear window hatch when I got home. They have not offered to fix it. read more

Don't trust these people. They did not inform me of the $15 'up-charge" for vacuuming pet hair. The neglected to wash the exterior, even though my receipt says Interior Detail and Exterior Hand Wash. Any tools, blankets and emergency gear that was in hidden the Spare Tire compartment, was left strewn about in the hatchback area. I'm going back to NW Auto Spa, where I was much more satisfied with the service and quality of work. read more

As you can see, I only write reviews when I receive really good customer service, or in some cases when I receive horrible customer service. I have worked with a Eric and his team at this location for several years now and they are phenomenal! They have detailed my Mercedes, my Audi Q7, and most recently my 2014 Jetta Sports Wagon. This detail was the result of damage to my car by a lazy paint crew at an apartment complex who got more paint on my car than they did on the adjoining building that they were intending to paint. The crew at Ace understood my concern, thoroughly inspected the car front to back, side to side and provided me with a quote to remove all of the dried paint. I could have cared less what the cost was because the apartment complex was footing the bill and I told Eric that fact. Nonetheless, Eric did not take advantage of that fact and provided me with a very reasonable quote, completed the work ahead of schedule and provided me with a loaner car while my car was being detailed, inside and out. Does it get any better than that?? YES, it does get better, Eric noticed that the rear view mirror on my car had came off and was laying on the floor of my car. Eric and his team went WAY above the expectation and took it upon themselves to glue it back on, without charge. It wasn't about a three dollar tube of glass glue, it was about Eric's ethics, integrity and his commitment to maintaining a good relationship with his customers. They worked with me and ordered parts ahead of time to reduce the amount of time I needed the loaner, which was also a very reasonable price that was paid per day. Reasonable price, good work, and consistent communication throughout the whole thing. I did not go through insurance, paid out of pocket so I can't speak for insurance claims. But if you're paying out of pocket the process was as smooth as it could be. read more

I went to this location 11 months ago after a car accident. They took their time, received several thousand dollars from the insurance company and sent me home in a dangerous vehicle. They did not check the things I told them that I was concerned about, but told me they did, hid things that they didn't want to mess with and after all that the owner refused to talk to me about it! On 2/20/2012 I purchase a livingsocial coupon for an interior auto detail and hand wash from Ace for $99.00. On 3/21/2012 I took the car in and I upgraded the service to a "higher quality" exterior detail by Eric. It looked very nice - all clean and shiny. After I got it home I noticed that condensation was in both of my front headlights (I had never noticed this in all the years I have had my car). I called them with no response and after about 24 hours emailed them as well asking how to rectify the situation. They replied that they had spoken with a Volvo specialist and most likely there was a leak in the headlight but that pressure washing the car most likely forced the water in. ACE said it was common in Volvo's. I called Jim Fisher Volvo and they said it is not a common problem and that the headlight assembly would need to be replaced ($1100.00) - the company that services my car also said the same thing. ACE said to bring it back in and they would take car of it - so we scheduled for 4/3/2012. They sealed the lens back in with what appeared to be a silicone substance. I took the car home and the condensation was back in both lamps by the time I had arrived. After another conversation with ACE they agreed to free labor to buy a lens kit that was available on the secondary market. The material cost to me was $100.00 (although I had been quoted $15.00 per lens in a prior conversation). I dropped the car off on 4/13/2012 which was a Friday and told them I would be out of town and pick up on Wednesday the 18th (4 business days for them for a 1 hour job!) When I returned from my trip - by 4:00 pm I had not received notice that the car was done and when my husband called - they said it wouldn't be ready until 12:00 the next day and would call. At 1:00 the following day we still had not heard from them so left a message. At 2:00 we still had not heard back so called again and finally reached someone. They said the car would not be ready until 5:30 pm. Picked up the car and the front was filthy with hand prints and dirt - really a Detail company that doesn't notice those things? We drove off and about a mile away my husband who was following me started honking - the side lens had fallen out of the socket of the car! We took the car back and they fixed it - while there we noticed that condensation was again back in the lenses. ACE told us that they would dry out with the heat from the lights....still waiting. I did send off another email but to date have not heard back from them. I concede that I "may" have had a small leak and that the pressure washing opened it up - but in both headlights and when I have never had a problem? The $100 they charged was ridiculous for a problem that they created but really the bottom line is the customer service we received. Not returning calls or addressing the problem - especially after I had paid the $100 is not acceptable. Most expensive detailing I have every had! I drive a family car a toyota highlander--nothing fancy and I usually get car washes and I vacuum it out every once in awhile. I had a sick kid in the car and it was bad and it smelled. I cleaned but couldn't get it out. I called around for a car detailing for ODOR specifically to get rid of the odor in the car that I couldn't find or get to. I got 3 quotes that were all within a $100 of each other but my issue was timing. I wanted it done as soon as possible! Ace Car reconditioning not only gave me a specific rundown of the work they would do that was quite thorough but they also suggested an Ozonator treatment. I didn't know if this was a gimik or the secret to "New car smell" so I agreed to upgrade to add it. i was still in the ballpark of the other quotes, plus they could get me in right away. I turned up the next Monday at 7am for the drop off and accepted the Toyota Prius loaner for $10, that was a no-brainer. The Prius was simple and clean but smelled strongly of "Carpet Fresh." The shop was clean and simple. Many certificates on the wall but mainly Angie's list participation and Rotary Club Certificates . Their license was up to date for an Oregon Business. Maybe they should take down the one for "Quoting for Profitability" though and the one for Las Vegas business seminar, but otherwise a good 2 station drop off counter work space. We did a walk through together of my car and the issue with the odor somewhere in the back. I was told to pick up my car same time tomorrow morning so they'd have maximum time on the Ozonator. EASY! I received a call mid day they found the problem odor was under the far back jumpseats and would require removing the back row seats. I had their assurance they knew how to remove the bolts and then reinstall those seats. I agreed to the $90 upgrade understanding the extra work from what was originally described in detail. Ok so they found the problem and the cleaning and Ozonator would give me the new car smell. I turned up the next morning at 7am but the car wasn't finished. He said he called my cell phone. There was only the 1 call on my call log. Anyway I was asked to come back at noon, and I verified I would not be charged more than the already agreed to price. Noon happened to work out ok with my appointments so I hit a gas station and returned at noon. The car looked great, It was spotless to the dusting in the vents and vacuum lines on the carpet. I walked the whole car to make sure no ooops happened while in the lot. None found. I removed the cargo mat in back and made sure the jumpseats worked properly. They did. But the seats were wet! That could have resulted in mold if I hadn't checked. He grabbed a rag really embarrassed quick and wiped them. I left the seats up. At checking out I was asked to pay for an extra day for car loaner but I told them our arrangement was no extra charge. They agreed. I signed and left all in about 20 minutes. Done! My car smelled Wonderful! Completely neutral until about the 3rd traffic light. Then my car smelled strongly of "Carpet fresh" the kind hotels use. Weird! I left my windows down to air out the carpet fresh smell and to dry the damp back. I worried for 3-4 days that the car would still smell when the masking perfume was gone. But it didn't! My car did NOT smell like new either. It did smell cleaned though, and the "Carpet Fresh" smell continued to linger. Ok so does the Ozonator thing actually work? Well when I first got in it did. I don't actually know. If the "Carpet Fresh" wasn't used would it have smelled cleaner? OR was it just the fact the carpets were cleaned and the odorous debrise removed from under the seats? I waited until now to write this review, mixed feelings. I could tell if I had not been dilligent about my questions, directions, and quotes, it could have been a different review. The delay was small and no extra charge because I clarified that in advance. The guys were very friendly and caring of doing a good job. I didn't feel anyone was trying to pull one over on me or anything. I will recommend this shop but I will say it is up to you to get cost info right up front and listen to details upfront that may cost you extra and figure that in. Follow up because I don't think their followup was that great and could have saved me a trip. Still a pretty good experience so Four Stars and yes, I'll go back. read more

I got my windows tinted. The quality of the work seems fine. However, they need to train all their employees to know what Oregon's tint laws are. (http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/TS/docs/VehEq/Window_Tint_Brochure.pdf) All I wanted was to make sure I wasn't breaking any laws. Unfortunately, they didn't even know what Oregon's tint laws were. They forced me to spend a lot of time researching Oregon Tint Laws and corresponding with them to get a tint certificate -- something they should know Oregon law requires them to do. So am I happy with my experience? No. Were the guys friendly, though? Yes. Do they have potential? Yes. But seriously, if you're tinting windows, you should really know what the law requires. read more

This was my first time getting a car of mine detailed, so I do not have anything to compare it to, which is why I only have it four stars. However, I think they did a great job. All of the crumbs and gunk in the hard to reach areas were gone; it looked brand new. They even cleaned the outside area of the trunk where dirt and tree debris collects, which I was pleasantly surprised to see. Jeff at the front counter was very friendly, and you can tell from the lobby that the business is active in local chamber of commerce, which I like to see. I have been going to Ace for years. They have done everything from detail my car to replacing bumpers. They have fixed things for free that they could have charged me for. They are quick and their prices have always been very reasonable. This summer I was rear ended. Since someone else was paying for the repairs, I decided to try a different body shop who said they specialized in insurance claims. Leif's told me that they had insurance adjusters with desks in their office which made the process quicker and more efficient. That was the first lie. Leif's had my car for 6 weeks this summer. Basically ALL SUMMER! When they finally gave me my car back because I was going on vacation and I needed to be able to take bikes on my bike rack, they had only fixed the back bumper and totally blew off the front. I took pictures and the insurance adjustor (who did not have an desk at their office and basically travels to all the body shops) agreed that the front also needed to be fixed. I told her I would not go back to Leif's and needed to take it to my usual guys at Ace. The repair required a new bumper which Ace they had ordered, painted and installed in less than 48 hrs. Very disappointing all around. Bought a Groupon to get my truck detailed. Then, not mentioned in the offer, there were a bunch of add-on costs due to color, size, etc. that took it from $99 up to about $150. Tried to schedule two appointments - the first could only be done out in Beaverton/Aloha and that didn't work. The second time, I showed up, as did a whole group of other people, at 7:30 in the morning to drop off. The shop wasn't open. We waited for about 30 min. and finally someone drove up and told us the shop wasn't going to open for the day. My groupon expired shortly thereafter - they were supposed to call us to reschedule, but didn't even bother with that. I'm disappointed and out my $100. What a waste. read more
