Those Richard and Donna characters are unpleasant and unprofessional. The employees left my drivers seat disgusting with grease all over. The screws were not screwed on. I went to my regular mechanic to check their work afterwards. They text me to grab the car after hours on a Friday. I tried calling the shop & Donna personal cell because I had a $100 deductible. Nobody answered. Even while they had my car they would decline my calls and I didn't call daily at all. I would leave messages and nobody responded. Monday after I picked up my car they started texting me about the deductible. I gave them the same treatment they gave me as I called for updates on my vehicle. They had my car from 8/3-8/21 (not their fault). The richard guy starts calling me 8 times in a row leaving messages that he is calling regarding my court date. Extremely unprofessional especially for $100 I had all intentions of paying.

I called A to Z transmission and spoke with Tony. He actually took the time to see if it could be machined, rather than replaced.... which thankfully, it could! They repaired blown head gasket and a lot of other work my truck needed, still waay under the price to replace with a used engine. I have now waited over 3 months to write this review and I can't begin to say how pleased I am with this company! Tony was honest, upfront and very pleasant to talk to the entire time. My truck runs amazing now. I will never go anywhere else! Thanks Tony :)

My neighbor recommended this place to me, said he's been going there for years, and all his cars are Volvos or VW's. He's pretty frugal and knows cars, he does a lot of repairs himself, so I figured they had to be good. Well, a few days ago I started smelling a burning wax/ plastic-y smell whenever I drove my car. I called Tony yesterday and he told me to come right over. He immediately knew what the problem was: I had run over a plastic shopping bag while the engine was hot, and it had melted onto the bottom of the car! So, they put it on the lift, and scraped it off my car, also checked all my fluids and topped off the windshield washer fluid, all for free and done in 15 minutes. I needed an oil change and new tires, and I needed it done before the end of the week. They did it right then and there. I waited in their office for a couple of hours, and it was done. Runs great, they realigned it and did a great job. I would definitely go back there for oil changes and repairs. Their office is not very comfortable, but I don't think they have a lot of people waiting around while their cars are serviced. It's got a tv and a few chairs, but is pretty cramped. The Pawtucket Salvation Army is right across the street, and there are a bunch of other little shops if you need to kill some time. I wouldn't say they are cheap, but their the prices are reasonable, they seem honest, and the service is fast, professional and competent.

When I asked for specific work to be done on my vehicle, Peter contacted me to inform me I didn't need it, although, would do it I I wanted. Over the past few years they did whatever work was need for two inspections in addition to oil changes, a tuneup, replacing my rear brakes, and, installing new hatchback lift support gas springs. When I asked for a quote on replacing the springs, they suggested I get the parts myself to save some cash (I bought mine online from Sixity Auto Parts for under $20). I followed their advice, saved quite a bit (at least $140) and they did the labor for $20. The quotes I got elsewhere were over $180 as they insisted on getting parts for me (parts alone were $140).
