This was a very disappointing experience. Mike and his team were recommended by our financial…read moreconsultant and were highly regarded. But the whole experience was unprofessional and ultimately unhelpful when it came to doing our actual taxes. First, I didn't hear anything from them for a couple of weeks after our initial meeting. It required me following up to get an update. And then I had specifically asked for a heads up on whether we were likely to owe any taxes, since we were self-employed the past year and unclear whether we were paying sufficient estimated taxes. In the end, I got a response a couple of days before taxes were due to be filed with a report that we $12K in taxes. There was a potential to open an IRA to lowering our tax liability but with no guidance on how to do that and only 2 days to spare we just paid the bill. I would not recommend working with these folks. They seem like nice enough people but were either overwhelmed this tax season or understaffed. Either way, that exactly what you count on a tax account to be prepared for and they clearly failed.

We had a scheduled appointment, yet we were left waiting outside on the street for 40 minutes with no explanation or apology. It's completely disrespectful to clients' time. I would not recommend this tax accountant to anyone looking for professionalism, punctuality, or respectful treatment.

I have been getting my taxes done at Ghion since 2014. They are extremely affordable for the DMV…read morebecause they have low overhead costs. Their work has always been efficient and courteous. Mehari is a knowledgeable tax preparer and he remembers me year after year, which I appreciate. Both their locations are open 8am-7pm. They also send reminder emails when it's time to do taxes and include a list of the documents they'll need. The Falls Church location is in the Build America Plaza, a little Middle Eastern shopping center. The Plaza's parking lot is not designed well and parking spots fill up fast. I recommend using Ghion's services for people that are culturally accepting, have moderately complex tax issues, and are fine with a no-frills office.

Ghion tax need to be more professional. I went there with a friend last year to do her tax return…read moreand I was very happy with their service so I did mine instead and went back again this year. But things were very different. Since they already have all my info from last year, all she did was add my W2 and told me the amount I'm going to get. When she told me that, I told her I did it somewhere else and they told me I can get $283 more than what she told me and she try to get it as closest as she can and everything was going smoothly until I told her I need to step outside and make a phone call that's when she said you have to pay full amount witch is $100 before you leave. She even said how do I know you're coming back. She could've stated it in a different way if that's how she feel. Also I wasn't aware of that they get paid by hours not service. At the end I was able to step outside and made the phone call and came back . At that point, I believe it was one of the owners came to me and told me to go in her office and work with her again, without even asking me what went wrong or what was the problem. Bottom line is DO NOT go or give them all you're informations before you ask all the questions you have because they lie. I walked in 4:41PM and left 5:12PM
