We opened our pool in 2016. We used 3 pool services before calling APS. We definitly have something to compare to. APS provided the best, by far, pool opening service we have had. We began using them in 2019 and have been extremely satisfied. We are set up for them to open our pool again this year. read more

Horrible service. When I asked why I was being charged so much for the labor, the owner Scott got mad because he "was exhausted from working all day" so I got hung up on twice. Oh and they broke my gate when installing a pool heater. Then I was promised a credit back because of the hassle and broken gate and never received it. Do NOT use them. read more

1. 3/2/21 Scott Hill with Advance Pool & Spa gives quote to repair/rehab our pool $16,155.00. See attached. 2. Around week of 3/24/21 APS shows up and replaces pool pump, saltwater tank and salt cell unannounced. 3. 4/10/21 I text Scott Hill from APS that Just Pools would cut off a portion of the top of the wall on the existing pool and install a new track on top of wall. No reply. See text screen shot attached. 4. 4/11/21 I text Scott Hill from APS what is the plan to begin repairs on the pool. He replies that they are not "comfortable repairing pool" and now want to install a new pool. I reminded him that he said if Just Pools can repair it, we can also therefore I checked into the repair plan for him. See screenshots of texts attached. 5. 4/13/21 APS emails us a new quote to replace the pool for an additional $34,500.00. Bait & switch tactic. See attached Quote. 6. 4/13/21 I emailed Scott Hill at APS and told him we would be using Just Pools to rehab our pool since his company could not do the work like they bid. See attached email. 7. 7/5/21 Pool rehab is completed. I email Scott Hill asking for paperwork on the pump they installed, and they send a link to manufacture. See attached email. 8. 7/7/21 Deanna Woods emails Scott Hill that we are having an error code on the pump. Pump has only been running 2 days. No reply. See attached email. 9. 7/8/21 I text Scott Hill asking for help please and see email sent to your office manager. He replies they are coming out tomorrow and cannot give a time. See attached text. 10. 7/9/21 APS stops by unannounced and resets the pump to get it working. Did not tell us what the issue was or that anything else needed to be done. 11. 8/8/21 through 8/11/21 Deanna Woods emails Scott Hill that pump is not working again. Sends a screenshot of the error and screenshot of online research. Deanna also has electrician look at pump to see if they can figure out what is wrong. After no reply after two days, I call APS and they state that they are going to charge us $95.00 to come out and look at the equipment they installed? So I pay the $95.00 with credit card over the phone because we don't know what else to do. 12. 8/11/21 APS sends out service tech, unannounced, and Scott texts Deanna stating the electric is ran wrong? Why didn't APS say this in July when they came back out to fix error? See email with text screenshot and Deanna asking for explanation. 13. 8/12/21 We call our electrician, and he comes out. He says electric is hooked up the way APS said to hook it up and tested fine. Electrician does not know what else to do to get pump and salt cell running. Sent Matt photos of tester hooked to pump. I send this photo to Scott Hill via text. We text back and forth, and he says he thinks new electric needs ran. Does he want us to pay him to run it? I reply I will get back to him Monday because I am now going to have Just Pools look at the pump because I don't think APS knows what they are doing. After all the trips out here and now they say it needs an all-new electric line? Scott replies he is stopping by my house, again, and say the pump is up and running again and wants to rewire it directly to the breaker. 14. 8/23/21 I pay Just Pools come out to look at pump. They take the cover off the wiring box and find out whoever installed the pump smashed a wire with the cover, see attached photo, and this has shorted out and burned up the pump. The electrician or Just Pools have never touched the electric on the pump. 15. 8/24/21 I emailed the photo of the smashed wire to Scott Hill and ask that they set a time to meet with me so we can discuss resolution. Scott calls my cell within minutes and leaves this long voicemail pretty much saying they are done and don't contact them anymore. See transcription of voicemail and recording of voicemail attached. 16. 8/24/21 Matt and Scott Hill and APS office manager send several emails stating APS is not responsible for the equipment they installed because there are 3 companies working on the pool and we needed to call the manufacture directly? So, it's no longer an electric issue, now it's a manufactures issue? And to pick up my pool cover that they said they would deliver in writing already. I let them know I would be reported to BBB, State Attorney General and filing suit if they did not work to resolve this issue and we copied our attorney. See attached email thread. 17. 9/3/21 I called the manufacture of the pool pump and they said we must deal with the contractor that installed it. 18. Requested resolution: we request Scott Hill and Advance Pool & Spa, refund our $6,180.00 and remove the faulty pool pump, salt tank, salt cell and above ground pluming they installed. We only used our pool for a couple weeks this year because the pump and salt cell would not stay running. read more

#Advanced_Pools withdrew funds from our financial institution without our permission or knowledge three to four weeks prior to performing services for us. On the date of the services, Advanced pools showed up two to three hours late. Advance pools immediately began declaring additional increases in the previous estimate they had given to us over the phone for closing our pool, even though our pool is less than 12,000 gals (a patio pool). We immediately stated we were not in agreement to pay the additional unforeseen increases. At that time the owner stated we would pay it or he would pull off the job. I again stated I was not willing to pay an additional two to three hundred dollars on top of the $375.00 he had provided in his estimate. He then instructed his guy to start gathering up their equipment and began leaving my property with the pool half empty, equipment, skimmers and parts laying all over the place. We ended up having to call another company in that could not close the pool on that day but did hurry out to put our pool back together in order to prevent leaves and debris from the trees (we're in the middle of fall) from getting into our pool plumbing system and ruining it. As the Advanced Pool people were leaving, the owner turned and smiled and said "Have a good day". We have made numerous attempts at contacting Advanced pools requesting a refund of our money paid for services that were not rendered. So far we have made over 9 attempts and no one will answer our calls, emails or any other means to resolve this situation. Advance pools is completely ignoring our attempts to contact them. I have filed with the BBB and will be contacting an attorney to file for our money along with damages sustained and additional cost incurred as a result of this company's unethical behavior. Advance pools had total disregard for the shape that they left our pool in...knowing they were the ones that disassembled the equipment, leaving us in potential damage of pool failure and damage. Stay away from Advanced Pools. They are unprofessional and extremely pronounced on unethical business practices. The owner went ahead and dumped the water onto my drive overflowing into both front sides of my lawn and across the road into the neighbor's lawn. As of now, since we're in fall and the grass is turning brown...I have no idea if their actions are going to wipe out my lawn or not. I will know in the Spring if the grass doesn't come back. These people...Advanced Pools have no regard for their customers and are only out to make a buck at their customers expense. I have no idea how much their actions are going to set us back. I am very disappointed in my recent service visit from Advanced Pool & Spa Service. They provided terrible service. First, they didn't make an appointment, didn't call ahead to let me know they were on the way, and didn't even ring the doorbell when they arrived. I was home the whole day but the only reason I knew they were on my property is because I heard my dog barking in the backyard and then looked out the back window and saw two strange men (not in uniforms) messing with my pool pump. I walked outside and they didn't introduce themselves. I had to ask who they were and why they were by my pool. The first guy, Scott, was on the phone with someone else and was extremely rude to me the entire time. The second guy, Kenny, just walked around holding a bag of tools and didn't say a word. Scott claimed my pool pump needed a new gasket because it was leaking and noisy and I told him there was nothing wrong at all with my pool pump - it worked fine - and the reason I called for service is because my spa pump wasn't working. Essentially, Scott had been looking at the wrong equipment and tried to sell something I didn't need. Scott claimed his notes mentioned a request for the pool pump, but if he would have called first to set up an appointment or confirm the details of the service request, then he would have learned the real problem. Once I directed him to the spa on the other side of my backyard, Scott didn't even diagnose or fix the spa problem. Instead, he kept asking me multiple times if I have spa coverage through my home warranty company (which I do have spa coverage) and seemed lazy like he didn't want to do the work. Scott then claimed there was no access to the spa even though there is plenty of room underneath the deck to access the spa on all four sides. I told him that other companies have been out to service the spa in the past and they never had a problem accessing it, and then Scott screamed at me "But we don't do that!" He didn't even try to fix the problem and simply said it wouldn't be covered under the home warranty. He stayed less than 10 minutes. He didn't even bother to put the cover back on the top of the spa before he left. I was then charged $75 for the 10 minutes they were here even though they didn't fix anything. I can't believe my home warranty company (American Home Shield) would use this company. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would not want them working anywhere near my pool or spa. I'm not surprised this company has such bad reviews all over the internet. Stay away. I want a refund of my $75 service charge. read more
